A/N: JUST TO CLARIFY!!!

The fight that took place in the prologue was between Rikko Kurayami and Taro Iida (Ingenium)

Who is Iida's DAD. Not his brother. The hero name "Ingenium" is a family name. Passed down from the original (their father) to Tensei and eventually to Tenya.

The fight was not with his brother Tensei Iida. (Who is the current reigning 'Ingenium' hero) It was with their Father Taro Iida.

I hope this clears things up cus it's kinda important for the story lol

"Let the games begin."

And so they did.

The first test was the fifty meter dash. A simple test Nova had taken before constantly in Junshi. But this time was different... She was supposed to use her quirk. She stood on the sidelines as the first few students went. The spiked blonde; Bakugou and that green haired boy from earlier.

Bakugou excelled as expected and the other boy... He just... ran? Not using a quirk at all.

Nova chewed her bottom lip.

Mina Ashido and a boy with purple eyes. She used a slippery substance from her hands to make herself slide faster. While the boy shot a laser out of his stomach. It would have been impressive but... He only held it for a second or two. Before falling in the middle of the dash and having to try again.

Nova chewed her nail, even though it was only a stub at this point. Her mind completely preoccupied. How was she supposed to use her quirk for this? There was lots of metal around her... And a tree ten feet from the finish line. Could she use a wire to pull herself across? Sort of like how she did when helping Jirou, but instead of swinging she'd wind the wire up quickly around the tree...

She was distracted as Aizawa readied the last group.

"Kurayami."

Everyone stopped in shock. Staring at their teacher. What... Did he just say?

Nova's entire body tensed, her eyes widened and she felt her heart jolt. Feeling her anxiety manifest in actual physical pain. Her heart then started to beat twice as fast.

No one moved.

Aizawa looked up from his clipboard.

"P-pardon?" A boy stammered. It was Iida. Fucking of course it was Iida. Staring at their teacher like he had grown another head.

Because why in God's name would he randomly say the name of a terrorist villain? In the middle of a training exercise?? Was he about to lecture them about something related to the man? Like he had used natural disasters as an example earlier? Was this some sick Motivational tool?

Nova was frozen. She was completely shocked, by her own last name...

"I said. Iida and Kurayami. Line up we don't have all day." Her teacher said with an almost eye roll. As though he hadn't just destroyed Nova's highschool career by saying one word.

No one moved.

Not Iida or Nova for several moments.

The class looked around as it sunk in... Someone they were going to school with... Had the last name 'Kurayami'?? Was it a coincidence? Did they simply mishear him?

They waited.

Nova bit her lip, took a deep breath... And stepped forward.

As soon as she moved every eye was on her. As she awkwardly walked towards the starting line. She couldn't do this. She couldn't run. Let alone use her quirk. In one move her teacher had destroyed the small amount of confidence Nova had built up.

She heard a few gasps and then a hell of a lot of whispers. Standing at the starting line infront of her entire class. Completely alone. She felt like she was going to cry, how come every first day of school made Nova want to cry? You'd think she'd be used to this type of humiliation by now.

The few seconds seemed to last forever. A humiliatingly long time for Nova to stand silently infront of everyone... alone.

"TENYA IIDA!! Do you want to fail this test? Get up here NOW." Her teacher snapped. Seeming to be very annoyed, almost mad at his hesitation.

"Y-yes sir." The boy stammered. Finally making his way to the line beside Nova.

She was trembling.

He didn't notice.

She hid her face in her hair. One of the many uses of her red mane. Chewing her bottom lip.

She couldn't help but feel bad for Iida. Just a little. Sure it's not like Nova did anything to him or his family. But it must've taken him way off guard randomly hearing that name. She hoped he wasn't as off his game as she was.

Bang

The starting pistol.

Iida bolted. Clearly wanting to get away from her as fast as possible. Which considering his quirk... was pretty fast. He left Nova in the dust.

She ran, actually she basically jogged. Her head was spinning. She felt dizzy. Sick.

"Eight point five seconds."

The cheery robot announced. It was one of the worst times so far. By a second yeah, but still.

"Finally." Aizawa muttered. Looking at his device and clipboard.

Nova felt like she was going to throw up. Or cry. She was being stupid, dramatic. She tried to be rational. It was just her name... she knew it would happen eventually. All he did was call on her... no big deal.

But the looks on her classmates faces... it was a big deal... they looked horrified and confused.

She stood back with the group. This time there was more... distance. Like everyone sidestepped away from her. The boy with green hair was looking at her, mumbling to himself. When she glanced over he immediately flinched away and changed his gaze. Acting like he hadn't been looking.

"Next is grip strength." Her teacher said, looking at the group. His eyes landed on her. "I forgot the dynamometers inside... Kurayami. Help me carry them, everyone else stay here and run through some basic stretches. You'll need it."

Nova glanced around and followed without word. Trailing behind her teacher as he walked back into UA. They walked down a hall in complete silence. He stopped at a closet and took out two cardboard boxes full. But... he just sat them on the ground.

"I didn't want you in my class." He stated blatantly.

Nova said nothing. Looking off to the side. She wasn't sure what he wanted.if he was just going to lecture her. Maybe even bully her into failing her test. Or simply expel her here and make her go home.

"And I felt that way... before I knew your name."

She looked up at him Suddenly. What did he mean?? How could he feel that way without even knowing her name... Nova was used to people hating her because of her name. Forming opinions when they read her name on a piece of paper. Before even seeing her...

But this was different.

"...sir?" She questioned.

"I saw you during the entrance exam. You have massive amounts of talent." Aizawa crossed his arms. "But you wasted it. You purposely cut your points in half. Your quirk was perfect for the mock battles but you scored far too low. You could have easily taken the top spot." He explained. Her eyes widened.

"Well I-"

"I don't care why you did it. I want you to know that's unacceptable in my class." He said sternly.

Nova stared at him. Then looked down. "Sorry..." she mumbled.

"I want you to win this."

"Huh?"

"The test." Aizawa was standing there. Completely serious, the same scary look in his eyes. "I want you to place in first. I know you can do it. No holding back."

"But-"

"That first run was unacceptable. You'll need to work twice as hard to make up for it in the other seven challenges." He stated.

"Sorry I was just..." Nova looked away. This felt weird.

She was used to being lectured by teachers. being hated and hazed by them. But this was different... Aizawa was mad over... something in her control. Rather then her name or her father. Somehow that was worse.

"I know what happened. But you can't be thrown off by something as simple as your own name. This school will eat you alive."

"It's not just my name..." She mumbled. "You don't understand."

"They were going to find out eventually. I did you a favor."

"A favor?? How?" Nova asked in shock.

"What do you think would've happened? Let's say you managed to keep your name under wraps for a few more days. A week even." Aizawa said boredly. "It would have been way worse for all of you. They would have felt deceived and betrayed over your secrecy. On top of finding out who your father apparently was."

"It wouldn't matter when they found out... they'll hate me the same."

"So what? UA isn't about making friends. I thought that was obvious." He huffed. "You do realize that you're going to have to work twice as hard as every other student out there right? So forget about impressing them or being their friend. Right now the only person you need to bother impressing is me."

He picked up a box and shoved it into her arms. "So go out there and show me what you're made of. Prove to me you belong here."

Nova stared at him. Holding the heavy box in her arms tightly. The grip gauges clinking around.

"...Y-yes sir!"
