"The sports festival?" Nova tilted her head.

She was back in school again, after her short break. She was immediately greeted by Shoji who had been slightly worried over her not coming the previous morning.

To avoid that again Nova finally exchanged numbers with him. To her surprise Shoji's phone was just as simple and dated as her own. But his excuse was because he preferred things to be simpler, or so he told her.

"Yes, it's apparently two weeks away." Shoji nodded. Informing her of everything that happened when she was away. "When it was announced yesterday students from the other classes were at our door. They said they were scouting the competition..."

"Why us? Because of the attack?" Nova asked with a small frown.

"Apparently we've built up quite the reputation." Shoji nodded, his arms crossed over his chest. "Seems like we have some enemies as well."

"Great... Like the villains weren't enough..." Nova mumbled softly.

"H-hey! Kurayami?"

Nova looked away from Shoji as someone tapped her back. It was Uraraka in the seat behind Iida. Standing by her was Mina and Jirou.

Nova's face heated up as she remembered yesterday, how they saw her out walking around even after she said she was sick.

"Y-yeah?" She asked, clearing her throat.

She also remembered the conversation she overheard in the bathroom. Between them and Jirou. Did they hate her for what her father did?

"Um... We just wanted to apologize for yesterday..." Uraraka said with a nervous smile.

"Yeah... We didn't mean to make you uncomfortable or anything. We were just... Curious is all." Mina said with a smile. Jirou stayed quiet, but she nodded along bashfully.

"O-oh..." Nova whispered. Her cheeks now pink from embarrassment. But she wasn't necessarily upset...

People never really apologized to her. She wasn't used to it.

"That's alright... I understand..." She muttered lightly.

Mina smiled at her, obviously not feeling nearly as awkward over this interaction. "I didn't know you had a little sister! That was your sister right?"

"Oh! Yeah that was Zoey... She's my sister." Nova smiled a little bit. But then realized what that implied and back pedaled quickly.

"Well I mean!- She's my foster sister... We don't have the same parents..." The last thing Nova wanted was for people to think Zoey was also Rikko Kurayami's daughter.

"Ooooh that makes sense." Uraraka smiled brighter too. "I was wondering because you two didn't seem much alike."

"You're in foster care?" Shoji mumbled, tilting his head to the side curiously.

Nova blushed again, letting her hair partially cover her face. She wasn't used to this attention. Though it wasn't negative, at least... She didn't think it was.

"Yeah...." She replied, biting her lip.

Before anyone could say anything else Mr Aizawa walked in and barked at his students to get back in their seats.

Nova relaxed slightly as the small group's attention was pulled away from her and towards their seats.

All but one.

She glanced to the side and caught the gaze of Tenya Iida beside her. Her silver eyes locked with his blue eyes and he immediately looked away back to the front of the room. Jaw clinched.

Although His eyes looked away from the girl, his thoughts spiraled around her.

What were Uraraka and Mina talking about? Seeing her yesterday? That could only mean she skipped school for no reason! She hadn't even been sick yesterday, she simply didn't come in out of her own selfishness.

She didn't even take this seriously did she? Did she even want to attend UA? Did she not realize how important attendance was? This was a serious offense!

Iida looked at the front of the class where Aizawa stood, covered in bandages.

If they had any other teacher Iida would consider informing them of the violation of rules Kurayami committed. But... Mr Aizawa made it clear since the beginning he wouldn't hear a single word against the girl. He'd assume Tenya was telling him with some hidden agenda! Which was not true! Iida would do the same if it was any of his other peers...

Probably. Unless they had very good reason!

Which she more than likely didn't. What reason could she have to not come to school. She missed many important things! Like educational lessons and the sports festival announcement!

He tried to keep his gaze ahead, but found himself glancing to the side occasionally. Remembering how the seat that had been empty yesterday was now filled again. He knew he should be cautious, on edge now that she was back.

But everytime he saw her for just a moment or two he didn't think like that at all. Instead for some odd reason he noted how the sun from the window made her hair look like it was on fire. And how her head tilted when she rested her cheek on her palm. And how the pencil she was holding had many teeth marks at the end.

He looked away before his mind could note any other completely irrelevant details. He didn't know why it was so hard to look away from her.

Maybe he just subconsciously wanted to keep an eye on her... To make sure she didn't get into any trouble... Yeah that's why.

It's not like he liked looking at her or anything.

The older boy let out a slight scoff. Causing Kubota to glance up from his book.

The two brothers were outside of UA. The younger of the two had been buried in a book he borrowed from the library, while the older was scanning the campus as the other students made their way out the gates.

Kubota followed his brother's gaze and caught a glance of red hair. Before it was eclipsed by the body of the large boy from class 1-A.

"What is it?" Kubota asked his brother, despite the fact that he kinda knew what caused the noise.

"That fucking villain kid." Kain glared into the crowd.

"Oh... From Mr Aizawa's class?" Kubota asked nervously.

"It's bullshit..." Kain cursed. "Fucking hate him. That whole class can burn in hell."

Kubota glanced over nervously, but he was used to his brother's hatred by now. "That's a little... Harsh." He said with a small frown.

"The bastard expelled me and my entire class for no damn reason our first year." Kain glared. "And now he's letting her waltz around like she's one of us?!"

"You guys were only expelled for a week..." Kubota mumbled. Putting his book up. "He was just trying to scare you guys."

"I don't give a fuck. He's a shit teacher if he lets her stay. Especially after that dumbass attack. They let the daughter of a villain into this school and then get SURPRISED when more show up and attack them." Kain hissed through gritted teeth.

Kubota looked away, it wasn't the first time he'd heard this same rant from his older brother. Ever since the attack a few days ago it was all the angry boy could talk about.

"If they just got rid of her that shit wouldn't happen." Kain pushed off the wall and started making his way towards the gate. Not towards the girl thank God, he just seemed finally ready to make his way home.

Kubota followed close behind his brother

"You're damn lucky you're in class 1-B." Kain grumbled, kicking a few rocks on the road home.

Kubota turned and looked over his shoulder, watching the redheaded girl walking in the opposite direction. Was his brother right?

Was she the reason UA was attacked? And if she stayed here...

Would it happen again?
