"I don't know if I can let you do that again."
Kira looked over at Aizawa, an untouched glass of water in the table next to the couch. A paramedic was checking her blood pressure.
Kira had been out for two hours. She passed out and then woke up screaming and sobbing before she calmed down and found Eri again. Once the little girl fell asleep she took the piece of the bullet out of her mouth.
"I can't not do it." Kira rasped back. Her voice hoarse from screaming. "She needs me."
"Kira... I understand but..."
"But nothing! She needs me! That was horrible, until she's safe I'm going to keep telling her she's going to be alright!" Kira argued, shoving the paramedic away. "I'm fine!" She snapped at both of them.
The paramedic glanced at Aizawa, then backed away when her teacher nodded.
"Kira you have to understand. We don't know enough about this aspect of your quirk, but now we know it has it's limits. You were completely unresponsive Kira. We don't know the risks of using this part of your quirk and we definitely should not test them in an environment that could cause you to have panic attacks!" Aizawa said, running a hand through his hair.
"You wouldn't stop! I know you wouldn't. You would have done the same thing if that's what it took to save me!" Kira said, standing up. She ignored how dizzy she felt.
This quirk definitely did have limits. He had a point, but Kira's point was that she just didn't care.
"That's different Kokoa." Aizawa said, standing as well.
"How?!" Kira asked, she had a horrible headache. And a horrible feeling. She was anxious every second, everything in her begging to check on Eri again. Make sure she was still sleeping. Make sure she was okay.
"Because I was a licensed and trained professional!! I had taken an oath to do whatever I could to protect the citizens of Japan! I was an adult! You're still a child, that is still my student." Aizawa said, he raised his voice just slightly. Why could she not understand he wanted to keep her safe.
He wanted Eri to be safe too. He was worried for her, everyone was. But the objective of Kira's job had been completed. They were launching the attack in two days. It was pointless to keep doing something that could be more dangerous than they realized.
"Just your student." Kira whispered. "And there isn't anything you can do to stop me. Not if I really want to do this." She said slowly.
"I can strongly advise Nighteye to remove you from this case." He stated flatly, without much expression.
"You can't do that! You need me!" Kira argued.
"No. Not anymore, while you would be useful we are still capable of finishing this on our own. Pros have been working on this stuff long before you were even born. It's possible to accomplish tasks without you." Aizawa corrected harshly. "Kira I'm sorry but you're too emotionally involved in this. I understand why but I can't let you needlessly put yourself at risk. You can't keep sacrificing your own health for others, not when there could be other options."
"When have I ever done that?!" Kira threw her hands up.
"During the explosion. During the encounter at the mall and narrowly at the attack on the camp. If it weren't for Tenya Iida you would have run out completely unarmed." Aizawa listed calmly.
"You have a very Heroic heart Kira. And that's a good thing." His tone changed slightly. It was soft, fatherly even. "But you can't save anyone if you're dead, or in a quirk overuse induced coma." Aizawa put a hand on her shoulder. "I can't stop you, you're right. And I won't talk to Nighteye if you can prove to me you'll take care of yourself while helping."
"Thanks Aizawa." Kira stated.
His grip tightened.
"But if I see you failing at that. I'll have to suspend your license. Is that clear?" He asked.
Kira stared at him. She hadn't felt this was in awhile. She swallowed nervously and nodded. She felt odd, like she hadn't felt in a long while. Embarrassed but also warm and fuzzy and protected.
"Yes sir."
"And if there is any hint the league is involved... You and your classmates are out."
"Yes sir." She mumbled, finally identifying that feeling.
She felt like... She had just been parented.

Kira had been gone for a few hours longer than she had expected. And she returned to the dorms in worse shape than when she left. Her hair was messy and a little tangled. Her eyes were red from rubbing and kinda bloodshot. Her pale skin was blotchy and pink.
Anyone who saw her would figure out she had at least been crying.
She tried to sneak in but she was immediately stopped by someone rather unexpected.
"Are you okay?" Uraraka asked in a whisper when Kira walked in. The girl had basically been waiting by the door for her.
"Yeah I'm fine. Totally cool, why?" Kira lied, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Well... You... You know, were gonna use your quirk right? For Eri." She prompted, not able to say everything out loud. She was taking the secret part of this mission very seriously. Especially the fact that Kira had asked them to keep the new development in her quirk to themselves. "I just thought that might've been a little rough for you!"
"And it very clearly was." She thought, looking at Kira's appearance. Then she covered her mouth. "Oh no! Was that rude?" She squeaked.
"No. You're good, it went fine. Just got a little emotional that's all." Kira said with a shrug. Like this was no big deal. It was a big deal, but she didn't want her to know that.
"Alright... But if you ever need to talk my door is always open! Well I mean I'm normal asleep by eleven... But you can wake me up! I don't mind!" She offered with a smile.
"Thanks Uraraka." Kira said, patting her head like a puppy.
She walked down the hall, trying to sneak to her room. But fate had other plans.
Bakugou wrapped his arms around her when the hall was empty and turned her around. "You look like shit." He stated blatantly. Looking her up and down while holding her shoulders.
"Geez. Thanks, best friend of the year award goes to the ever sensitive Bakugou Katsuki." Kira said sarcastically, with a dramatic eye roll.
"No! I mean-" He scoffed. "Are you okay?" He asked in simple words, abandoning his native tounge of insults. "You look upset... Bad upset. What happened? Did you get fired or something? Can work study interns. get fired?"
"No it's... It's nothing." Kira lied and looked away. "Really."
"Liar." Bakugou said, he looked around and hugged her tightly. "I want to know what's going on." He whispered into her neck.
Kira hugged him back, tightly. Craving the warmth and comfort that he provided. She breathed in slowly, the first full breath she'd had all day. She inhaled his sweet scent.
"Have I every told you that you smell really good?" Kira asked him.
"Yes. But you were high. And you can't just change the subject. What's wrong?!" He asked as she snuggled into his chest.
"Carry me Katsuki." She said with a smile. Wanting him to pick her up and take her away.
"Kira." He said seriously. "Come on."
"I'm sorry okay? But I'm not supposed to talk about it. It's about work studies and It's just a little upsetting and... Personal." She admitted. "I'll tell you all about it once it's done and over."
"Is it about that crazy chick? That Yeti lady?" Bakugou guessed.
"Momma? No." Kira shook her head. "We haven't heard from her since the attack. Not even a sighting." She didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. On one hand, no leads. On the other hand, she didn't have to see her at all. And Kira likes not having to see the woman.
"No it's just... Just a kinda disturbing villain case. That's all."
She said with a sigh. Pulling back. "Sorry but they really asked me not to talk about it." Kira said, looking up at him.
"Right." Bakugou mumbled. She could feel a jealousy buried deep in him that he was trying to get over. "Sounds cool."
"You'll get your license soon enough Katsuki." Kira said, giving him a reassuring smile.
"Not with these courses. Gang Orca hates me. And Todoroki, but mainly me." Katsuki said with a pout. "I can't even get my damn license. How the fuck am I supposed to be number one?"
Kira stared at him. Then slowly smiled. She couldn't help but giggle.
"The fuck are you smiling at?!" He snapped.
Kira covered her mouth. Trying to fight the words she desperately wanted to say. It felt like fate, she had to complete it.
"Y-you'll always be number one..." She wheezed and braced herself on his shoulder. Before looking up into his eyes.
"In... In my heart~" she choked out before breaking down in a fit of laughter.
Bakugou didn't get the fact that she literally just quoted a scene from a fanfiction written about them. But he wasnt having it.
"EWW!!!" He ducked around her and put his fists up, like he could fight away the feelings. "NO MUSHY SHIT!!!"
Kira collapsed in a fit of giggles and snorts. Katsuki didn't get the joke, but he was secretly glad she was laughing again. Not upset like she had been earlier.
Koda was a genius.
A/N: A tiny bit of Bakugo and Kira cus we haven't had much recently...
Also a few people asked last chapter... I am okay guys. I swear, I'm doing great! Your comments on that one chapter ("Click" I believe) were really encouraging and I never actually had a chance to thank you guys for being so sweet!
I had a personal problem that had came to a boiling point that day. But because of what happened and how it ended up I've been feeling a lot better!
So don't worry guys! I know to pace myself and I really don't feel rushed to put out a chapter everyday, it's something I genuinely enjoy doing!
