106: 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑓𝑓𝑖𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑘𝑦
"HAHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHA!!!!"
Monoma opened up hundreds of warp gates while laughing uncontrollably.
"I'M PULLING ALL OF THE STRINGS NOW ALL FOR ONE!!!" He yelled as he unleashed an army of pros heroes.
Phase one of the battle plan was now complete.
Now phase two, thought up by All Might and put together by the help of Nezu and the support course. Operation Division.
"Just as we thought! He brought an army with him!" Naomosa said through their headpieces.
"If he gets one for all he'll have no reason to hide ever again!! We have to strike now! This is the beginning of the end!!"
All might said.
Both men were at the police base. They were tracking and keeping charge of everything and everyone while organizing who goes where.
The armies charged together, Shigaraki placed a hand on the ground but predicably... Nothing happened. Monoma really was pulling all the strings.
"I DIDN'T THINK YOU'D BE HERE DEAR OL' DAD!!!" Dabi said with a grin. Blue fire erupting from his body. "HOW ABOUT BEFORE WE DANCE I THROW A FUNERAL FOR YOUR FRIENDS?!"
A heatwave blasted towards them. Blue fire rapidly traveled towards the heroes side of the battle ground. But he was blocked by a wall of ice charged from a portal.
Todoroki climbed out. "I WON'T LET THAT HAPPEN!!" He yelled.
The first match up.
Dabi was going to be pitted against Todoroki, Iida and several sidekicks from Endeavor's agency. Ones that had quirks easily suited for withstanding heat.
"HEY THERE SHOTOOOO!!!" Dabi yelled with another manic laugh.
"You're gathering in droves... How could you see this as wise Kokoa? A free for all here? It's like a buffet for my quirk."
All for one mused, Kira felt Midoriya pull her farther back. They both allowed the crowd to swallow them up. Making One for all harder to access.
"Activate system Troy!!!" All might ordered over the coms.
The ground shook as metal burst through the concrete laid down by Cementos. Up came strong iron cages, the size of buildings. Locking around the villains in ten separate prisons.
"A CAGE?! YOU THINK THIS'LL HOLD ME?!" Dabi laughed as the darkness covered him.
"NOW!!! WE HAVE LESS THAN A MINUTE!!!" Kira yelled into the comms, calling to activate the next stage.
All the cages started to move. Dabi was right, these wouldn't hold them. They had less than a minute, maybe a few seconds. But that's all they needed.
Monoma harnesses the warp gate again, opening huge portals all across Japan. Each cage was moving towards a different one. Operation Division; the plan was to shatter each villain. Placing them somewhere perfectly curated to defeat them. With heroes matched up meant to take them down.
They were setting the board, the heroes had the advantage. Choosing exactly where it would all play out.
The walls started to break as the villains pushed out. Fighting to be freed, realizing what their plan was. But the heroes were there to shove them back in. Like holding in the water threatening to spill from a broken dam.
"THSI WON'T HOLD ME FOR THREE SECONDS!!" Dabi burnt through it, only for Todoroki to leap towards him. Blasting him backwards with fire and ice.
"YOU'RE GOING FOR A RIDE!!!" Todoroki yelled at him. They disappeared into the portal. It would take them to an abandoned part of the city, where they had plenty of space to have at it with their firepower. In an environment less flammable than the woods.
"DEKU!!!" Bakugou called. Running to push in the cage containing Shigaraki.
"RIGHT!" Midoriya yelled, leaving Kira's side and going to help.
One of the most important matchups. Shigaraki and Midoriya.
They were transporting Shigaraki Solo. Forcing him to fight on his own on the modified UA campus. The coffin in the sky.
Nezu and the support course worked on the perfect environment to contain Shigaraki. Using extreme hover technology they lifted a piece of UA off the ground and sealed it in a force field hovering over part of the ocean. With measures inside designed to counter decay. Not to mention Bakugou, Jeanest, Edgeshot, the big three and Mirko inside ready to fight.
With Aizawa and Monoma outside the forcefield prepared to use eraser as long as necessary to keep his quirks at bay.
All of that was the perfect environment for Midoriya to fight him and win.
There was only one problem in this plan.
Kira's eyes widened as she saw a wire burst through one of the warp gates after the cage was shoved in. It flew across the battlefield and wrapped around Midoriya's wrist.
"MIDORIYA WATCH OUT!!!" Kira screamed. But it was too late. The villain was too fast. Toga was too fast. Before they could even think Midoriya was pulled into the wrong portal.
Toga was placed on an island off the coast of Japan. It was several hundred kilometers away from the UA battlefield.
He disappeared.
"IZUKU!!" Kira yelled.
"KIRA!!"
Kira heard a voice yelling at her, she turned just as she saw what looked like a missile fly towards her. From one of the stragglers.
Kira didn't have time to dodge but she didn't need too. She fell through the ground into a dark vortex. Landing on her ass next to the person who had screamed out her name.
"SORRY!" Monoma yelled. "I panicked and warped you here." He admitted, technically he was still working out the kinks of The warp gate quirk. When he saw Kira in immediate danger his first instinct was to send here somewhere safe.
With him outside of UA.
Kira looked around, she found herself in a small building connected to the UA coffin in the sky. Sitting next to Monoma and Aizawa outside of the forcefield.
"Don't worry about it." Kira breathed in and out carefully. "That was a close one, thanks."
The wind tosses her hair back and forth.
"I was just supposed to pick off stragglers. They should be fine without me." Kira finished, looking over at Aizawa.
"You're not the only one not where you're supposed to be..." Aizawa muttered, eyeing the battle ground.
"WHERE IS DEKU?!" Monoma yelled, staring into the battle ground.
"I saw it!! He was pulled through the wrong portal by another villain, I didn't see who... But my bets are on Toga!" Kira told them, speaking also through the comm system to alert everyone else.
"They pulled a fast one on us!! Deku's gone!" Bakugou told them at almost the same moment as Kira.
"Isn't that like really bad? Our whole strategy revolved around him." Suneater responded anxiously.
"Doesn't matter! Now's our time to strike him down. He's here in front of us and he's out numbered!" Mirko said confidently.
"Mirko's right, look around us. This place was tailored to beat him. We strike now, with or without Deku." Jeanest agreed. As he spoke, Shigaraki pressed a hand to the ground, decaying it. Unlike the others Kira couldn't hear what her cousin was saying from this distance. Even her quirk couldn't reach their minds from this far away.
The ground began to fall apart, only for the affected section of it to rise up and decay in the air, without touching the rest of the ground. It prevented him from destroying the whole floating island as he did in Jaku hospital.
Thanks to Mei from the support course, Momo and Cementos. Along with all the other support students. All powered by Kaminari and other electrical quirks. Jeanest had a point, this was created specifically to counter Shigaraki's quirks.
He shot up and hit the forcefield around the battle ground. Shocks powerful enough to stun an animal three times his size ran through his body. Momentarily causing him to cease up.
Jeanest launched an attack. Throwing him backwards with wires. He tossed him towards Bakugou who blasted him with an explosion. Mirko also launched an attack after the explosion cleared. Despite the fact that Shigaraki countered it with a quirk of his own.
Kira knelt beside Aizawa, who was touching Monoma with the back of his hand. In that position Phantom thief could use his quirk endlessly. Going far past his usual limits.
"Activate it now. You remember All I taught your about it right?" Aizawa instructed carefully.
"Yes sir!" Neito said with a wide grin on his face. "Come on where is he... Once I use eraser he'll have no way to use his quirks. Sure his body is strong physically too... But unlike in Jaku he doesn't have backup!! There's no way he'll stand a chance!"
Kira couldn't hear, but she watched Shigaraki extend his hand towards Jeanest after he emerged from a smoke cloud. But predictably nothing happened. He then turned and stared right at Monoma and Eraser. Obviously catching on.
His attention shifted just slightly, Kira saw him look directly at her. She felt chills run up her spine when their eyes met. Shigaraki, her cousin.
She tore her eyes away when Monoma started to cackle hysterically. "HUH?! WHAT'S THE MATTER?! IS THE FINAL BOSS HAVING TROUBLE USING HIS QUIRK?!" Monoma yelled in a sarcastic and mocking tone.
"I don't think he can hear you from all the way over there." Kira mumbled to him.
"DOESN'T MATTER!!!" Monoma yelled back. Obviously on a high right now.
"She's right you've gotta stop shouting..." The pro hero Manual said. His water quirk was useful in keeping Neito's eyes from getting dry. Allowing him to keep them open for a very long time without blinking. "Please be still."
"I need to keep this contact with him... This plan was put in place specifically to make Midoriya win... But now.... This is bad." Aizawa thought, clinching his jaw. He used Eraser as well. As a safety belt. It was at half its strength due to the loss of his eye. But it still would function well enough to keep Shigaraki at bay if Monoma were to blink.
Kira would have the same problem. Sure she did have Monoma's quirk. But according to him her version of it was equal to when he was a young child. She didn't have enough training with it. Her lack of experience means every quirk she copies will be weaker than the real thing.
Right now Monoma was the only one capable of using Eraser to its fullest abilities.
"But last time we fought him... His body wasn't complete. Now he's had plenty of time to finish his transformation. Who knows what types of tricks he has up his sleeve-"
As though triggered by Aizawa's thoughts Shigaraki turned. His arm began to morph, hai flesh warped and bloated. He reached out with five fingers.
Ten.
Fifty.
A hundred.
His arm expanded rapidly, suddenly a mass of thousands of fingers. Like something straight out of a horror show. It kept growing until it was bigger than a bus. Slamming into Mirko and pushing her away before she could attack again.
"What is that?!"
Someone yelled. The conversations from the battlefield were on and off. Scattered, Kira couldn't hear all of it. She was trapped on the sidelines, forced to watch.
Watch as their plan unraveled.
"I'M DOING IT JUST LIKE YOU TAUGHT ME!!! THERE'S SOMETHING ELSE!!!" Neito cries out in panic. "There's no way it's a quirk right? I thought... I have to be doing this right. This isn't my fault... Is it?"
"I know." Aizawa grit his teeth. "Damn it. This is worse than I thought."
"Shit!" Kira whispered. She didn't know what was up with him. But it wasn't a simple quirk in action. It was likely a physical change in his actual body. With everything all for one was capable of... It wasn't unlikely he could turn Shigaraki into a Nomu capable of growing like this.
"THAT'S SO FUCKING GROSS!!" Katsuki yelled on the other end. Dodging the extra limbs and standing on top of UA.
"Mr Aizawa... Everyone are you there?"
A new voice came in. Deku.
"I'm sorry I was pulled in by Toga! I'm at the island! I need Monoma to warp me back!" He pleaded, sounding desperate. His voice crackled as the connection was slowly messed up.
"...No we can't do that... Monoma can only use one at a time. It will take at least ten seconds to switch and warp him here... And if he can use decay with all of those hands... He could destroy everything before Deku even gets here."
Aizawa thought in frustration.
"Even if both me and Kira used it... With my one eye and the weak version of copy she has... The strain of erasing quirks gets worse the stronger the individual... It would be too much of a gamble even with both of us trying to keep him at bay for ten seconds."
"We can't do that Deku. It's too dangerous to turn off Eraser. You'll have to get here on your own."
"Well send the American fighter pilots to give him assistance. Even then he's so far off... It'll take at least twenty minutes for him to get back. That's if there aren't any complications on the way." He stared into the UA Arena.
"The only question... Is if they can hold on for that long."
