"ATTENTION EVERYONE!!! SHOTO TODOROKI'S OPERATION WAS A SUCCESS!!! DABI IS OUT OF COMMISSION!!"

The message was sent to everyone across all battle grounds. It was meant to raise hope and spirits. Telling them they have a real chance of winning.

But it didn't quite seem like that at the coffin in the sky. Shigaraki's body raged, his arm was a mass of fingers and hands. Soon he was bigger than the UA school building that he was standing over. Kira watched in anticipation. The team with her uncle in the police station said that Midoriya was on his way now. They were tracking everyone from their base.

But he still had a long way to travel. They still had to buy him more and more time. The plan they had made was falling apart, all because of some crazy lovesick teenager?!

Kira cursed Toga and how she pulled Deku through. Kira knew for a fact there was nothing strategic about her action. She simply did it because she wanted to see him. That almost made it worse.

"Ahhah." Monoma's laugh had lost its arrogance several minutes ago. Now it just made everyone more on edge. "Of course that crazy bastard pulled it off." He mused. Eyes on Shigaraki. "If a traitor like him could do all that... Then I certainly can keep my eyes open!"

Despite the aid from Monoma. The proes inside the battlefield weren't fully attacking. They tried to destroy the new arms but that didn't slow him down at all, he simply grew new ones. Now there were so many that his real body was hidden in a mass of giant hands. It completely shielded him. It was practically impossible to actually get any damage on his original form.

They seemed to be avoiding and dodging him for now. Trying to worm their ways through the maze of limbs created by Shigaraki. From the outside it looked like several giant snakes slithering around the school.

Things seemed to slow down for a few moments. Kira wished she could hear what was being said. Her cousin sitting on top of his twisted body held up a hand as he spoke. Obviously he was monologuing or something. But Kira had no way of knowing what he was actually saying.

Kira looked away from the villain, her eyes catching on Bakugou. He was lower to the ground, using his explosions to fly around the arms. His eyes on Shigaraki.

Kira suddenly realized that... He likely didn't even know she was here. That she was watching this, completely and utterly useless. Standing behind a protective barrier as she watched them fight for their lives.

Kira was actually glad that he didn't know she was there... She felt pathetic. Doing nothing. She'd much rather him think she was on another battleground fighting, giving it her all.

He started moving faster. Running on one of the arms and then landing on the ground. Kira could see his mouth moving but his comms weren't on. She couldn't hear.

His gear started to adjust. Growing until it was basically two giant machine guns on his shoulders. She remembered him talking about the new weapons the support course were cooking up for him. Kira realized he had been running around so much to build up sweat. So he could use his max fire power.

He was preparing a huge attack.

Bakugou launched himself into the air, he didn't even really try to avoid the massive limbs. He simply started to blow a hole through them. He didn't dodge he just cleared a path with the heavy machinery.

The other pros immediately followed him through.

The attack started to build. Eating away at Shigaraki. Explosions and limbs flew in every direction. Bakugou was moving faster and faster, blasting ahead of all of the pro heroes supporting him. It must've taken two seconds, but felt like it was going in slow motion. When he was within reach his body twisted and he turned into a torpedo of fire and explosions. Like he himself was a human missile. Kira couldn't imagine the strain it was putting on his body to use that amount of fire power.

He was going in for a full force attack. Putting his all into this one move. Kira held her breath as she watched from a distance. She didn't know what to think as the boy she loved blasted towards the most powerful villain in the world. Moving faster than all of the pro heroes around him. His attack was stronger, his speed was unmatched by any of them. He was leaving the professionals in the dust and leading the attack.

Shigaraki put his hand out as Bakugou pulled back his fist, barely visible through the explosions. They collided and Kira couldn't see either of them.

She felt her heart rise. Her lungs pulled in and held a breath. The explosion was massive. Shaking and tilting the entire floating island. Rattling everyone on it, even the small building connected that Kira was on was yanked to the side. It tilted forward and Kira fell to the side, holding on to a groove on the surface of the building to avoid falling off. Aizawa held Monoma up, the boy was manually holding his eyes open to keep from blinking. "STAY STRONG!! DON'T LOOK AWAY!!" Aizawa commanded him.

The explosion was so huge it spread out the side of the forcefield. The only thing Kira could think of when she saw it was the massive ice wall Todoroki created during the sports festival. The one that he used to take down Sero. The way it stuck out of the arena that day...

There was a cloud of smoke. Kira gripped the fabric of her shirt in her fist. Watching intently. Scanning everything, eyes searching the cloud of smoke and dust. Hoping to see him.

It took an eternity.

When it cleared Kira wished it hadn't. When she saw him she wished to go back to that moment of suspense. When she didn't know which way it could go. When she didn't know who would win...

When she had hope.

How could hope disappear in seconds? Seeing them. Seeing Shigaraki holding Bakugou's arm, catching the explosion like it was nothing.

The smoke cleared and Kira could see scattered fingers from Shigaraki. Along with fragments of Bakugou's gauntlets and the rest of his gear. Layed out on the ground. Shigaraki held onto his arm, saying something. But Kira didn't know what. She never knew what and it was killing her.

Watching this was killing her.

Her heart plummeted, no it broke. That breath she had held in was completely lost. Now she couldn't breath at all.

Shigaraki's grip tightened and Bakugou's arm bent in an odd angle. Bone Snapping.

Kira let out a strangled sound, between a gasp and a choke.

Bakugou was hanging by his arm. Staring at Shigaraki in shock, his feet were brushing the ground. But we're too weak to actually hold him up. He was dangling over the ground, blood ran from his head. From his arms and mouth. Shigaraki lifted himself off the ground. Returning to his enlarged form. One arm growing, the other holding Bakugou far above the ground.

Then he tossed him aside, focusing his attention on Jeanest instead. Throwing Bakugou like he was just some ragdoll. Like he was nothing.

Kira felt sick. She felt distraught, she felt... terrified. She couldn't make a sound, she could only choke out a few strangled gasps. Like someone had their hands wrapped around her throat. She couldn't breath.

Her eyes sought him out. She was looking around desperately... He had been tossed out of view. Onto the ground. Kira caught sight of him, but couldn't tell if he was moving around or not.

Edgeshot, Mirko and Jeanest all charged Shigaraki. Who used his growing arm to form a giant club. Swinging it strong enough to blow them away with an air current. Like Izuku used to do with his punches. Only his arm didn't break.

The heroes had taken a guess that they could damage him if they attacked his actual body. But they were wrong in thinking it was weaker than the rest of him.

The strength of the hit through the air blew them away. Bakugou too, he rolled and bumped across the battleground. Tumbling away from him, completely limp.

Kira stared at him, letting out a defenseless whimper. She couldn't do anything. She couldn't do anything. He was there, possibly dying infront of her and all she could do was watch.

"Kira!" Aizawa called out, grabbing her shoulder. His eye focused on the fight. He was horrified. She could feel it in his mind. He wanted to comfort her but he was just a distraught as she was. His student...

Kira didn't respond. She couldn't, she was frozen. Staring at Bakugou. She couldn't see if he was even breathing. She was too far and yet too close. She was too far away to help, to do anything but stare. She was too close. Close enough to see the details of damage on his body. Close enough to see the bleeding and the bruises.

But she was still... too far away.

A/N: and thus begins... The angst
