The Butterfly Mansion had never known peace when you were around  and today was no different.

You were lounging in the sun with Shinobu, Aoi, Kanao, and the three butterfly girls. Lunch had been great, but now everyone was just… sitting. Breathing. Existing.

And you? Bored outta your damn mind.

So, naturally, it was time for ✨operation slay✨.

You dug through your bag, the one you always kept suspiciously zipped, and pulled out a few colorful little bottles.

“Okay, ladies. Prepare yourselves,” you announced, holding them up like they were sacred scrolls.

“…What is that?” Aoi blinked.

“Nail polish,” you said proudly, shaking a bottle of sparkly blue. “It’s like… a mini paint for your nails. For ✨the aesthetic✨.”

Kiyo leaned closer. “Is that… safe?”

“Yes. I’ve used it like, a hundred times. I didn’t die. Yet.”

Shinobu raised a brow. “You have very… unusual accessories, Y/N.”

You grinned. “I'm just built different.”

They exchanged skeptical glances. You rolled your eyes and grabbed Aoi’s hand first.

“Trust me,” you said, already brushing on a smooth layer of pastel pink. “It’ll dry and look super cute.”

Kanao tilted her head. “It smells weird.”

“Yeah, it’s a bit funky,” you admitted. “But beauty is pain. And slight fumes.”

Shinobu let you paint one of her nails. She stared at it, mildly impressed. “This is… oddly elegant.”

“I call that color ‘Soft Murder Vibes.’ Suits you.”

“Thank you?” she said, unsure if it was an insult or not.

The younger girls swarmed you next, picking their colors like it was the most important decision of their lives.

Kiyo chose glittery green. Sumi wanted rainbow stripes. Naho asked for black with tiny flowers.

You were in your element.

Even Aoi always the responsible one — kept sneaking glances at her painted fingers like, wait… I kinda slay.

Kanao finally whispered, “Can I have sparkly purple?”

You gasped. “Of course, queen.”

Just then Mitsuri passed by. She stopped. Froze. Sparkles in her eyes.

“OH MY GOODNESS, Y/N-CHAN, WHAT IS THIS BEAUTIFUL SORCERY?!”

“It’s called ✨style✨ baby. Pick a color.”

She ran to sit beside you faster than Zenitsu runs from responsibility.

Obanai peeked around the corner, saw Mitsuri giggling while showing off her glittery pink nails… and walked off mumbling.

Shinobu chuckled. “You know, Y/N… you’re turning this place into a very loud, colorful nightmare.”

“Why thank you,” you bowed with a dramatic flick of the wrist. “I bring chaos and sparkle. You're welcome.”

They all laughed. Even Kanao cracked the tiniest smile.

That afternoon turned into one of those rare soft days  no demons, no training, no blood.

Just color, laughter, and the sound of your voice going “HOLD STILL OR YOU’LL SMEAR IT.”

(Btw you got fluent in Japanese thanks to Aoi and the others)

After you finished healing, it was finally time for your goodbyes.

Yep. You were now going to be trained by none other than Sanemi Shinazugawa.

You’d grown close to Shinobu, Kanao, Aoi, and the three butterfly sisters during your stay. Late-night convos, stolen snacks, etc (ykyk).

"I'll miss you all! You’re my girlies for life," you said dramatically, arms wide.

Shinobu gave you a sad smile. “We’ll miss you too, Y/N.”

“Y/N-CHAN! PLEASE DON’T GOOOO! YOU PROMISED TO MARRY ME!” Zenitsu sobbed, clutching your leg.

“She didn’t say that,” Tanjiro deadpanned, peeling him off.

Inosuke sat in the corner, weirdly quiet.

‘Why am I… feeling sad?’ he thought, blinking hard.

“Y/N,” Aoi stepped forward, holding a small box. “Here… I made you a bento. And some sweets.”

You gasped. “Aoi!! I love you for life.”

She looked away quickly. “N-no problem! I’ll… miss you…”

“Kanao?” you asked, noticing she was shifting awkwardly.

“Can I… have a hug?” she mumbled.

You nodded and pulled her into a soft one.

Time skip

You sighed, slinging your bag over your shoulder.

“I can’t believe I’m leaving. I thought I’d stay for their training… ugh.”

“CAW CAW! NORTH! HEAD NORTH!”

“SHUT UP.”

“CAW! NO!”

“…fine.”

You arrived at a house tucked in the woods and knocked on the door.

No answer.

You knocked again.

Still nothing.

“SANEMI OPEN THE FREAKING DOOR—!”

The door slammed open. Sanemi stood there, hair messy, wearing soft baby-blue pajamas.

You blinked.

“AWWWWWW BABY BLUE PJ’S?!?”

“WHAT—?!”

You reached up and squished his cheeks. “You’re so cute oh my god—!”

He shoved your hands off. “Cut it out!”

‘Weird… why isn’t Yoriichi talking to me anymore?’

‘I’m here, dear.’

‘I missed you…’

‘That’s so nice of you :D’

“Sanemi?”

“What now, brat?”

“Did you miss me?” you asked, smirking.

He paused. “Yes—NO! I meant no!”

“Mmhmm. Don’t believe you.”

“…Even if. I missed your… stories.”

Your smirk widened. “I KNEW IT. You missed me.”

He looked away, ears pink. “Shut up and go put your stuff down.”
