Nene POV:
For the next few days I roamed around school as a visitor and caught up with my friends. I was currently staying with Aoi, who sympathized with me (her family was so nice), and had been spending most of my time with either her or Kou.
Kou told me I just needed to wait it out. I think he's right. Hanako-kun generally avoided me while I tromped through the school but sometimes I caught glimpses of him, always looking deep in thought.
But I was starting to lose patience. Soon, I'd eventually have to go back to my parents (I couldn't sponge off Aoi's family forever) and answer one of their calls. Soon, they'd realise I was here and would come find me. Soon, I'd have to leave, and I would never see Hanako again.
I took multiple small actions as bad signs for our relationship.
Number 1: He blocked my number. THAT SCREAMS OKAYNENEEVERTHINGISOVERINEVERWANTTOHAVEANYTHINGTODOWITHYOUAGAIN
Number 2: Kou says he's been trying to contact Renee. HESTILLCARESABOUTHERAGHHHH
Number 3: I went to school one day to see the vegetable patch completely ruined. IKNOWITWASHIMHEHATESMEEEE
Yep. I am most definetly freaking out.
Time skip
Author POV:
Yashiro Nene was not one to be dettered, no matter how hopeless she was. One day, she was roaming the empty school corridors after-hours when she bumped straight into a familair green-haired girl.
"S-Sakura-chan?!" Nene gasped, skidding back at the eerily blank look the girl always had on her face. "What-?"
"So sorry to disturb you, Yashiro-chan." Sakura blinked. "I see you are back. How have you been?"
Nene gulped, pointing a shaking finger at Sakura. "You... don't come near me! I'm not going anywhere with you..!"
"Relax." Sakura held her hands up and smiled. "I'm not going to make you come anywhere. I've just come with a gift for you."
"A... gift?" Nene eyed Sakura suspiciously.
"Yes. I know of your troubles. About your Hanako." Sakura smiled. "I have a gift to give you. It will help you recover your relationship with Hanako. It comes at no price."
"What is it?"
"It's a simple potion," Sakura held up a crystal bottle filled with apple-green goop. "That will allow him to see sense. It is a very simple procedure, in which the potion will remove some of the excessive emotions Hanako currently has. It won't remove his memories, just make him see things clearer, with a logical mind." Sakura smiled convincingly. "It won't do any harm."
"No." Nene immediantly shook her head, backing away. "I already tried using magic, and it backfired. I don't want to do it again. I want Hanako to forgive me of his own free will."
"He will still be forgiving you of his free will," Sakura said soothingly. "This potion will just help remove any unnesscary emotions he has. Once some of his anger disappears, he'll be able to see logically that you deserve forgiveness."
Nene shook her head again.
"Look, just keep it." Sakura pressed the crystal bottle into Nene's palm. "You might find you'll need it soon."
"I won't-" Nene began, but then she realised Sakura was already gone.
Nene POV:
I stared down at the crystal bottle in my hand. The light reflected off it and I uncorked the bottle, taking a sniff. It smelled like freshly picked mandarins and mango. Harmless enough, right?
But no. I couldn't take the chance.
Not unless I couldn't find a different way, the darker part of me whispered, You've been trying for weeks. He's not going to give in without this. You know he's being ridiculous, this'll just help clear his mind, won't it?
Hmm...
