Giyu POV:
Break..up..?
"W-what? But why?" My head spun.
"It's just that I think I could live a more peaceful life with someone who isn't a Slayer as well. I constantly worry when you're away on missions and I just... well, I think it would be better if I didn't have to cope with all that stress."
"Oh.."
It was the only word I could get out.
"Also, I don't want to disturb you. Both of us being Slayers is really inconveinent. I don't want to disrupt your missions as a pillar and worry you with my frequent accidents. My parents also... don't really approve of you."
"Why..?"
"Well, for one, they think your background is disturbing and they want me to be with someone who has a stable and proper job and can support me finanically... being a Slayer doesn't really pay. They've always wanted me to stop battling and lead a normal life, but, I want to keep being a Slayer until I achieve something and can retire peacefully... or until Muzan gets defeated. And I know you're the same, but I just can't keep living with this stress."
"Oh... I see."
I kept my gaze to the floor. All I could say was the bare miniumum. I was completely frozen in shock.
This was so sudden, so random. I must have done something wrong.
"Look, Giyu," Himari looked at me gently, and as if reading my mind, she said, "It's not your fault. You didn't do anything. This is just a personal choice of mine."
"....Right."
"Thank you for everything you've done for me. You've been really good to me, Giyu..." Himari's eyes filled with tears. "I hope you can find someone perfect for you."
"Oh.... I..."
"Please thank Nezuko for me. She's mended and cleaned my haori while I was unconsious. She's the sweetest demon, but I probably won't see her anymore without your connections." Himari smiled sadly. "And say hi to Tanjiro for me. I have faith that he'll be a great Slayer."
"Of course.."
"I'll be staying at the Butterfly Mansion for a while to take Rehabiliton Training sessions, so I might see you around, and if we do bump into each other I'd like us to remain on speaking terms or friends. I'll move back to my parents after I've completed my training."
"I see.."
"Thank you for everything. Good luck."
"You too."
Giyu spoke in a monotone voice, and his body language revealed nothing, except for his trembling hands.
Himari watched Giyu shakily stand up and leave the room, his eyes completely blank and eerie.
She hoped he would be alright without her.
