Himari POV:
I blinked away tears. As a Corps member for long I could handle pain well, but nothing like breaking most of your bones, right?
The demon had played with me and my comrades brutally like we were puppets. She bent our backs out at unnatural angles and made us wound each other.
It was unbearable.
But now I felt the threads snap and break. My broken body fell to the floor and I slumped on the earth. Blood was everywhere. I blinked, dazed, as I saw my fellow Slayers and friends in similair states. However, some didn't make it. I'd watched my friends die before my eyes, yet unable to do anything.
I slowly, shakily reached out for my soiled haori, clutching it to my chest.
My haori was one of the most precious things to me. After I'd begun dating Giyu, I'd met some of his friends- a sweet, dedicated young boy named Tanjiro. He also had some weird comrades- a boar and a yellow-headed boy. I soon learned that his sister had become a demon, and at first I was doubtful- but after meeting her, we immediantly took a liking to each other and she felt like the younger sister I'd always wanted. When I told her the story of my old haori getting stolen when I was a young Slayer, she'd begun working on a new haori for me and presented it to me as a gift on my eighteenth birthday.
It was pastel pink with a coral pink heart-cloud pattern at the edges. Nezuko had designed it especially for me- it was off-shoulder and very pretty. I was glad the demon hadn't destoyed it.
Giyu.
I had extremely mixed feelings about him right now.
Firstly, I felt relief that he was here with another Hashira and everything was going to be okay, I wasn't going to die tonight.
Secondly, I felt a little bit angry that he hadn't arrived any earlier to save my other friends. I'd even tried to get my crow to send him a message but the demon started torturing me before I could finish my message.
Of course, I couldn't blame Giyu. It wasn't his fault. But right now, I was in too much pain to care.
Soon, a group of bustling Kazukis came, fussing over us and treating our wounds. One Kazuki kindly set me onto a carrier bed as she inspected my wounds.
"Are you a Kinoe-rank, miss?" The Kazuki asked.
"Yes." I managed to smile at her and that made her tear up.
"I think there might be some space left in the Butterfly Mansion for special treatment for you. You might need Rehabilition Training."
"If- if it helps, I'm the water pillar's girlfriend," I offered. Usually I didn't like telling other people personal things like that, but right now I needed that special treatment.
"O-oh! Right! Of course- we'll get you to the Butterfly Mansion right away."
"HIMARI!"
My head lurched in the direction of my name to see Giyu running up to me at full tilt.
Meanwhile
Shinobu POV:
I smiled, satisfied as all that was left of that demon was his kimono.
Quickly, I ran off to find Giyu so we could report to Oyakata-sama our succesful mission, even though I was a little bit bitter that Giyu barely did anything, but at least it gave me a chance to prove I was a good pillar. Too often people underestimated me for my small size and weak power.
Hmm... it looks like the Kazuki's covered everyone. Good. I checked all the clearings we'd been to. When Giyu left, I'd assumed he went to help the Kazukis and check for any more demons.
"Shinobu-sama?"
A timid-looking Kazuki from the Butterfly Mansion approached me. "We have one Kinoe-rank Slayer being sent to the Butterfly Mansion for special treatment. She is in need of Rehabilition Training and is the water Hashira's partner. She's currently being escorted to the Mansion. We hope that's all right with you?
Oh. Himari. "Of course," I smiled at the Kazuki, "Put her in bed until I get there."
"Yes, ma'am."
I suppose Giyu'll be with her. I thought, leaping onto a tree branch, I'd best get back as soon as possible.
