MY heart was racing. I am scared but I know I shouldn't be. I have to be strong, for my child.
"You're here," I said as I kept my cool, glancing at the mirror in front of me.
"You think you can escape from me like that?" Mapang-uyam niyang sabi.
"Not at all," I shrugged. "I just wondered what took you so long. Lost resources, probably?"
I saw how irritated she was when she saw my relaxed expression.
"We're alone here, akala mo makakatakas ka ng gano'n na lang?" she mocked.
I noticed the difference in her stature, or maybe because her weight dropped. Even her eyes were bloodshot.
"Oh, you thought you could escape this again?" I asked, secretly slipping my hand on my phone to speed dial.
"Wala tayo rito, Polaris, kung hindi mo kinuha sa 'kin si Caspian! Your father stole from us! You stole everything from me! Dapat 'di ka na nabuhay!"
"I did?" My lip twitched. "First of all, to set the record straight, you framed my father up so you could get to me. Second, you cheated on Caspian. Third and most of all, he wasn't even in love with you in the first place–but he does fall for me. Wala akong inagaw dahil una pa lang, akin na siya."
Rage fueled in her eyes.
"H'wag kang magpanggap na inosente, Polaris! You fucked Claude too–"
"I do?" I shot my brow up. "Or you two set this all up to fabricate the story?"
Natigilan siya. "Caspian knew what you did to us. If he's in love with you, even you successfully rid of me, bakit wala pa rin siya sa 'yo ngayon?"
It fueled her anger.
"Bitch!" She attacked me, raising her hand to slap me but I was quick to evade it, gripped her hand, and slapped her hard across the face. Napaatras siya at napahawak sa pisngi.
I knew it hurt because my palm stung.
"How dare you!"
"How dare me?" I stepped forward. "No. How dare you! You ruined our lives! You killed my child!"
She screamed and attacked me. She successfully got a handful of my hair and I do, too. I gripped her hair too and pulled it twice as hard until she was screaming.
"Mang-aagaw ka!" Sigaw niya.
"Mamatay-tao!" sigaw ko pabalik.
I evaded her claws from scratching my skin, pulling her hair but to my shock, she kicked my leg so hard I lost my balance.
Nabitawan ko siya. I did my best not to fall in a vulnerable position and she used it as her chance to overpower me.
"I will kill you! You bitch! Mang-aagaw!" She screamed.
I grunted when my hips hurt but I did my best to cover my stomach from her.
Hope blossomed when I heard a loud thud from the door. Cheska's eyes sharpened.
"Shit!" She glanced at the door, distracted and I used it as a chance to push her off me.
She instantly recovered and reached me again, scratching.
"Fuck you! Hindi ka pa mamatay-matay!" Histerikal niyang sigaw. "I will make sure to kill you! Caspian is mine! Mine!"
It frustrated her more when she couldn't get closer to me again as I kicked her off me, doing everything in my power.
She stood but I kicked her off and when she fell, I grabbed her hair and smacked her on the ground. She let out a scream of pain as blood dripped on her forehead.
She quickly fought but I tackled her quicker.
"Reev!" I heard Caspian's harsh voice outside, kicking the door open.
Cheska was frantic, reaching for her hoodie.
Kasabay nang pagsabog pagbukas ng pintuan ay siyang hapdi na naramdaman ko sa baywang. My eyes fell and horror rushed as my blue dress got tainted with blood.
I was stabbed!
Just as Cheska attempted to do it again, I was able to quickly snatch it from her grip and stab her arm. Twice. I made sure to bury it in her arm the second time.
Her excruciating scream echoed as she tried to take the knife off her arm.
"Reev!"
Umalis ako sa ibabaw niya, habol ang hininga humawak sa baywang ko, trying to stop the bleeding.
"Take the damn bitch! Don't let her get away!" He exclaimed as Cheska's muffled cries and curses filled my ear.
My eyes are blurry and my heart racing in terror for my child.
"Call an ambulance!" I heard Caspian's alarmed voice as he held me. "Babe... Reev! Don't close your eyes!"
I felt him pressing something off my waist to stop the bleeding.
"C-Cas, our baby..."
"I'm here, I'm here..." he chanted. "You'll both be alright..."

"SHE needed rest and avoid stress." That voice was the first thing I heard when I opened my eyes.
My forehead creased, adjusting my eyes to the lights as I moved.
"Reev..." Naramdaman kong may umupo sa tabi ko, umaaalalay.
His worried green eyes were the first thing I saw.
"Ayos ka lang, Reev? May masakit ba sa 'yo?" Nabakas ko ang pag-aalala sa kanyang boses.
"C-Cas," my voice trembled, touching my stomach. "Ang anak natin?"
"Our baby's fine, Reev," he reassured.
Doon na ako nakahinga nang maluwag. Napapikit ako at tumango.
"Thank, God..."
"Our child is safe, Reev..." he repeated, resting his forehead on mine.
"Miss Reyes?" ani ng doktor kaya bumaling ako sa kanya.
"Doc, ang anak ko?" I asked.
"Like Mr. Alcantara said, the child is safe," he reassured. "But you have to rest. No stress and work as much as possible."
Tumango ako at humawak sa impis na tiyan, nararamdaman pa rin ang hapdi ro'n.
"I'd like to talk to you more about the condition of your child–"
"Is my child at risk, doc?" Muli na naman akong kinabahan.
"No, it's not about that," aniya. "I'll tell you more once I confirmed it. Don't worry, Mr. Alcantara, it's not an emergency or anything."
I heard Cas sighing.
"Alright, how about her and my child's condition?"
"They'll be safe as long as she takes enough rest and eats well. Upon checking Miss Reyes, I noticed the scar on your belly. May I ask if there's anything that's happened in the past? The child is weak so you'd need to be monitored. You've lost blood but thankfully, daplis lang, the knife did not penetrate your body."
I felt how Caspian gripped my hand, alam kong galit siya, alam kong sinisisi na naman niya ang sarili.
"I was in a coma years ago while I was pregnant. I had twins, one is still alive and...his twin died. They were born prematurely. As per my scar... I was shot before but it thankfully missed the vital organs.
I saw the shock in his expression but he nodded.
"Traumatic brain injury?"
"Yes," I said. "I also had an amnesia."
"I see." He nodded. "Women with cases like yours are prone to sensitive pregnancy. I will need to monitor you and will be referring specialists for your case."
"Maayos naman po ba ang anak ko? Walang masamang nangyari?"
"The baby's fine," aniya. "But I'll ask you to meet me and an OB later for another check-up."
Nang umalis siya ay nanatili pa ring naroon sa leeg ko at nakasiksik si Caspian.
"Cas," masuyong tawag ko.
"Sorry..." he apologized. "K-kasalanan ko na naman,"
"What are you saying?" I asked. "Hindi mo kasalanan, Cheska did that. Wala kang kinalaman do'n."
"We waited for you outside the restroom when I noticed it's taking a while. Pumasok na 'ko at wala ka. I panicked and..."
"I'm sorry," I apologized. "Under maintenance raw ang banyo ro'n kaya lumipat ako. 'Di ko na nasabi at ihing-ihi ako."
"Still..." He sighed. "You had a bodyguard but–"
"Don't tell me you fired him?"
"He's supposed to look after you–"
"Caspian!" Tumaas na ang boses ko at sumimangot. "Take him back. It's not his fault!"
Umungos siya. "No–"
"Isa..." Pinanlakihan ko ng mata.
Bumuntonghininga siya at sinuklay ang buhok. "Alright. Fine."
Nanghihinang tumungo siya. Sinapo ang mukha niya.
"I'm sorry,"
"'Di mo kasalanan," I stopped him. "I love you, please, don't blame yourself."
"P-paano kapag nahuli ako ng dating, Reev?" Bulong niya. "Paano kayo ng anak natin? I promised I'd protect you both this time but here I am..."
"You came just in time. You saved us both," I reassured. "And did you see what I did to Cheska? I stabbed her. Twice. I got her."
Sumimangot siya.
"That could've gone wrong, Polaris."
"Wow, Polaris?" Natawa ako. "I can handle it. Wala ka bang tiwala sa 'kin? I slapped her hard, too. Anyway, where's that bitch?"
"Jail," aniya. "With Claude."
Umawang ang labi ko.
"You found him, too?"
"He's working with Cheska, as expected. It was hard pressing charges against them years ago with strong evidence, plus, we couldn't find you for the witness statement. However, right now, our evidence is strong. They get convicted and jailed for what he did to our family."
I sighed. "Hindi talaga ako makapaniwalang magagawa ni Claude 'yon. He's a decent man, at least, that's what I thought before."
"He wanted you," there's a strain in his voice. "They're plotting another scheme if this one failed earlier. That bastard. He think I'd let him touch you again? Fuck him to hell. You're mine. You will stay with me."
"I would." Inabot ko ang pisngi niya. "And that bitch wanted you badly too, fortunately, you're mine. Fuck her to hell. You will stay with me."
It made him smile then he kissed me. Napapikit ako at ginantihan siya.
"Oh! Why is Mimi and Papa kissing?" Napatalon ako sa gulat at napalingon sa pintuan kung nasaan si Warrion na buhat si Riu, nakapikit ang mata.
"Anak!" I called.
"Nakaistorbo ata tayo, Riu." Warrion smirked at his glaring brother.
"Mimi, can I open my eyes na po?" he asked.
"Y-yes, of course!" Sinapok ko si Caspian at tinuro si Riu. He stood to take Riu and frowned at Warrion giving him a teasing look.
Napasinghap ako nang batukan nito ang kapatid.
"Kuya!" Warrion exclaimed.
"Bad, Papa!" Ngayon, natulala naman si Cas nang hilahin ng anak ang buhok nito. "Don't away Tito and don't kiss my Mimi! Mimi is mine!"
I chuckled. Magsasalita na sana nang may biglang pumasok.
"Nasaan si Polaris?!" she exclaimed.
"Mom? You're back?" Caspian blurted.
"Earlier, she came back with Dad. Hindi ko alam na sumunod dito," ani Warrion.
Our eyes met and she gasped loudly.
"Tita..."
"Polaris, my dear!" She exclaimed and ran towards me, 'di pinapansin ang kahit sino. I gasped when she hugged me. "Ayos ka lang? Ano'ng nangyari?"
"Yes, Tita," I muttered with a smile.
"I'm worried! Kauuwi ko lang ng Pilipinas tapos malalaman kong may nangyari sa 'yo?" Humiwalay siya at masuyong hinawakan ang pisngi ko. "Jesus Christ! What happened to you, dear?"
"I'm great, Tita Tess," I reassured, my heart feeling warmer.
Tessmarie Alcantara is Caspian and Warrion's mother, naglalagi na ito sa America but she came back here with Tito Arthur today. She's kind and really, really sweet. She's like my second mother. Naaalala ko pa no'ng madalas kaming mag-girl's night noon.
"Santisima, Prince Caspian!" Her eyes widened. "Wala akong kaalam-alam na nahanap mo na si Polaris! Mababalitaan ko na lang ngayon na nasa ospital siya!"
Humarap siya at nakita ko kung paano umawang ang labi niya nang makitang buhat-buhat ni Caspian ang anak namin.
I saw how her eyes flickered dramatically. Tinakpan niya ang bibig habang nakasulyap sa mag-ama roon. Their identical green eyes gave it away. One look and you'll know.
"W-what..."
"Uhm, Mom." Caspian cleared his throat. "This is our son, Pollux Sarpedon Sirius Alcantara."
"Papa, Lola?" Sirius stared at his father then back at Tita Tess.
"Oh my God..." Tita Tess whispered. "A-and you had a child?!"
"Yeah." Caspian grinned. "And another good news, Mom, buntis rin si Reev ngayon."
"Gosh..." Suminghap siya, bumilis ang paghinga ang pinapayan ng kamay ang sarili niya. "T-too much revelations in a day,"
"Warrion..." Caspian murmured. Warrion was alert.
"Hi, Lola!" Sirius waved his little hands.
"Oh my god..." Tita Tess murmured, napahawak siya sa sentido. "Where's Arthur? P-parang nahihilo ako. I'm gonna faint, I'm gonna–"
I screamed when she fell, mabuti na lang at mabilis na nasalo ni Warrion ang ina bago pa bumagsak sa sahig.

"MIMI, may playmate na po ako sabi ni Papa?" Sirius asked.
"Hmm, yes, baby," bulong ko.
"Nasa tummy mo pa siya, Mimi?" He asked, reaching for my stomach.
"Yes, Riu." I chuckled. "But hindi ang kapatid mo ang una mong playmate, anak."
"Po?" Gulat niyang sabi. "How po? Medyo 'di ko gets..."
I chuckled. Sumulyap ako saglit kay Caspian na halos sabunutan na ng Mama niya sa may sofa katabi si Tito Arthur at ang Daddy ko habang nagpapaliwanag siya.
Inabot ko ang pisngi niya.
"You had a twin, Sirius,"
"Twin?" Kumislap ang mata niya. "Brother po, Mimi? 'Di ba po kapag twin magkamukha po?"
"Yes, baby. You and your brother looked alike." The confirmation made him more excited.
"Nasaan po siya, Mimi? P'wede po kami play, 'di ba? May brother pala ako! May kasama na po ako mag-play palagi! Yehey! Magpe-play kami cars!" He said happily.
Nangilid ang mata ko. It pains me to see the happiness in his face and watch it falter. I reached for him, running my palms in his arms.
"Baby," marahang tawag ko. "Castor is with God in heaven na, anak. He's one of the stars now."
Napawi ang ngiti niya. Nahulog ang balikat at tumungo. He got it.
"Come here, baby..." Marahang inabot ang anak ko at iniangat ang mukha niya. "Don't cry, little boy. Your brother loves you so much, Riu, sabi ng kambal mo kapag sad ka, sad din siya.
"I-I don't cry, Mimi!" Riu murmured, stopping himself from crying. "Ayaw kong sad si Castor. 'Di ako iiyak. Hindi."
"It's okay to cry if you're sad," I mumbled. "I'm sure your twin will understand."
Namasa ang mga mata niya. Kinuha ko ang wallet at ipinakita sa kanya ang litrato ng kambal niya.
"Here, Riu, this is Castor. Your twin," I introduced.
Riu's tiny hands reached for the photo, vulnerable emotion playing in his eyes as he touched the picture.
It was Castor in the incubator. Ang sunod na larawan do'n ay ang litrato kung saan magkatabi ang mga incubator nila.
The words Baby Boy Reyes 1 and Baby Boy Reyes 2 were written outside their incubator.
"M-Mi, kami po dito ni Castor po?" He asked.
"Yes, baby," I confirmed and brushed his hair. "We'll visit Castor when Mimi is fine, hmm?"
"Opo," Sirius whispered, staring at the photos with a mix of happiness and sadness in his eyes. 'Di na niya napigilan ang pag-iyak habang niyayakap ang picture.

NANG may clearance na pauwi at matapos makausap ang doktor ay mas naging doble ang pag-iingat ko. I took a maternity leave to take a rest.
The trial for my case years ago was pushed through with the help of Caspian, my father, and one of the most promising attorneys in the country today who took my case.
Attorney Alchiel Sandejas helped us in our case. He was recommended by Zirena, Wave's fiancée at hindi naman kami nagsisi. That man is a monster in court and we won the case!
Attempted murder, murder, assault, harassment, and more cases were piled up for them and the Estradas. It became a massive case with the media all over it at kilalang politiko nga ang ama ni Cheska.
It was an emotional moment for me because finally, me, and my twins, Castor and Riu got the justice we deserved.

I was sitting on the carpet in the living room while eating fried dumplings and sipping on my cheesecake milk tea when my dog, Caspian ran towards me to rest on my leg.
"Hello, baby..." Ibinaba ko ang pagkain ko at hinaplos ang buhok ng aso ko.
He barked, naglalambing na humiga ito sa hita ko.
"Ang laki mo na, Cas. Dati no'ng binigay ka sa akin no'ng tatay mo ang liit mo pa." I chuckled.
Caspian, my dog, barked. His golden fur's fluffy against my arm. Natawa pa ako nang tumihaya siya. He barked again and raised his paws.
"You're still Mommy Polaris' baby, Cas." I chuckled, brushing his fur.
My dog, played and showed me his tricks. I was chuckling the whole time looking at him. Gumagalaw ang buntot niya habang tumatalon at maya-maya'y gumulong at umikot pabalik sa hita ko.
"Good boy, Cas!" I said. He barked and licked my arm kaya natawa ako. "Caspian!"
"Yes, Reev?" Napaayos ako ng upo nang lumabas sa kusina si Caspian, nakamaong na pantalon pa at nakahubad.
"I mean... the dog," I said. Bumusangot siya, napahagalpak akong lalo at tumahol ang aso namin sa kanya.
"Tampo na ako!" He groaned.
Napailing ako nang hilahin ni Caspian ang shirt niya bago isinuot at lumapit sa akin.
He crawled towards me until he reached my lap. Nakanguso siya at napailing ako nang humiga rin siya kagaya ng aso ko sa hita ko.
"Caspian," I called.
"Yes?" Caspian asked and my dog barked, sabay pa sila roon kaya mas naaliw ako.
"Sino'ng favorite Caspian ko sa inyong dalawa?" I asked. Caspian raised his hand and my dog raised his paw, too. Nakita kong nagtinginan silang dalawa ng aso. Caspian pouted. Caspian the dog growled.
Ang ku-cute ng dalawang Caspian sa buhay ko!
Natigil lang kami sa paghaharutang tatlo nang bumukas ang pintuan ng condo ni Caspian. My boyfriend stood, nakita kong pumasok si Warrion habang hawak si Sirius na kaagad na tumakbo palapit sa amin.
"Mimi! Papa!" He kissed my cheek and his father too. Binuhat ni Cas ang anak.
"How my big boy?" aniya at ginulo ang buhok nito.
Ako naman ay pumasok sa kusina, pinakain ko muna ang makulit na aso bago naghugas at bumalik sa kanila.
"Come here, Riu, bihis muna kayo ni Ate Amy," tawag ko sa anak na mabilis na sumunod.
Nginitian ko si Warrion at tumabi kay Cas.
"Did I flirt with her last night?" ani Warrion sa kanya.
"Yes," ani Caspian, nagtaka man sa pinag-uusapan nila ay nakinig lang ako.
Marahang hinila ako ni Cas palapit sa kanya at inabot ang baywang ko. He caressed my waist softly and whispered. "Masakit pa? Linisin ko ang sugat mo mamaya."
"I'm good,"
"I... did?" ani Warrion na kunot ang noo.
"Don't tell me you denied it in front of her?" ani Caspian at pinasandal ako sa dibdib niya. I embraced his waist, sa halip na sa dibdib ay nagtungo ang mukha ko sa leeg niya at inamoy-amoy siya.
Hindi nagsalita si Warrion.
"Oh, damn! You did?" Humalakhak si Caspian. Sumulyap naman ako sa kapatid niya na kunot na kunot ang noo nito.
"What did you tell her?" ani Caspian. Warrion's jaw is clenching. "Asshole, pinaasa mo 'yong tao tapos biglang hi-hindi ka–"
"I'll go," tikhim ni Warrion at tumayo.
"At saan ka naman?" Caspian's lip twitched, his eyes filled with amusement as he stared at his poor brother.
"May babantayan pa ako," ani Warrion na nakabusangot.
"Oh?" Caspian laughed, nang-aasar. "Akala ko ba tapos na ang kontrata mo?"
"Fuck you, Caspian," mariing sinabi ni Warrion. Mas humagalpak ang hinayupak na boyfriend ko kaya hinampas ko ang hita niya.
"Where's the Kuya now, Warrion?" Cas chuckled.
"Caspian!" I exclaimed to stop him.
"Okay... okay..." Tawa ni Cas. "Use protection, okay?"
"Tang ina mo," Warrion gritted his teeth.
"Uy! Bad 'yan, alam ba 'yan ni Mommy–" Tinakpan ko ang bibig ni Caspian kaya hindi na siya nakapag-ingay.
Warrion nodded at me to say goodbye. Tumango ako at nang makaalis ang kapatid niya, kinutusan ko si Caspian para manahimik dahil sa ingay niya.
"Ikaw, loko-loko ka!" I exclaimed.
Niyakap niya ako at humalik-halik sa pisngi ko bago tumungo sa tiyan ko at humalik.
"Ang baby ko rito, magmamana rin 'to kay Papa kagaya ni Riu–"
"No." I pinched him. "Igagaya mo pa anak mo sa 'yong madaming trip at sideline sa buhay. Papahirapan mo pa!"
Niyapos niya 'ko.
"Nasa kwarto si Riu, Reev..." Malisyoso niyang bulong. He cupped my breast, umawang ang labi ko nang marahang haplusin niya iyon.
"Cas! Your son might see us!" I exclaimed.
"Hindi 'yan, babe," he murmured, napatingala ako nang lumandas ang labi niya sa lalamunan ko. I let him kiss my throat, sighing in relief.
"Do you like sales, Reev?" He whispered, licking my neck.
"H-huh?" Paos kong bulong. "Yes, why?"
"Then, would you like to go to my room? Clothes are 100% off," he offered.
I stopped. Tinulak ko siya at sinamaan ng tingin pero tumawa lang siya, malagkit pa rin ang tingin.
Akala ko tapos na pero mayro'n pa!
"Reev, kapag nakatingin ako sa 'yo, nakikita ko 'yong mapa," aniya.
"Mapa?"
"Mapapangasawa ko." He smirked.
I didn't expect it that my cheeks heated. Malamya kong hinampas ang dibdib niya, iniipit ang buhok sa likod ng tainga. Mas natawa siya.
"Polaris Reeva Reyes," he called.
"Oh?" Sinimangutan ko siya. "'Di pa ba tapos ang corny mong pick up line?"
"Polaris Reeva Reyes," ulit niya.
"Oh? Bakit nga?" I asked. He smirked at me. "Bakit? Pangit ba pangalan ko?"
"Maganda naman." He moistened his lip. "But it'll be more beautiful if you make my surname yours."
Bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko. Nag-init ang pisngi ko at tinusok-tusok niya ang pisngi ko habang humahalakhak.
"Ayiee!" He exclaimed.
I pouted, glaring at him. Humalukipkip ako.
"Ikaw, si Jollibee ka ba?" I asked. The brute smiled at me, tila nagugustuhan ang sinasabi no.
"Alam ko 'yan!" He laughed. "Kasi binabalik-balikan mo ako?" He grinned.
"Wrong!"
"Okay, ulit!"
"Si Jollibee ka ba?" I asked again.
"Sige nga, bakit?" He asked.
"Kasi bida-bida ka," I answered. His smile faded as his mouth parted dramatically.
