"Are you not going to eat?"
"If I don't eat, Auntie won't make me go to school."
Kilian sat at the table with a tired look as he ruefully poked at the pancakes on his plate with a fork, y/n standing behind his chair and dutifully brushing his hair.
The little boy was already dressed and ready for school, his bag having been packed and prepped the night before.
Yuri resided a brow, "You don't want to go to school now? Why? Did something happen at orientation?"
"Kil was swarmed by a bunch of girls, and that sweet little girl he met during the entrance exams introduced him to her parents." y/n hummed with a little smile, "Is the thought of having friends really that terrifying to you, Kilian?"
"I don't need friends." Kilian replied stiffly.
"Yes you do."
"No I don't."
"He needs them, but he'll never have any with that attitude." Yuri mumbled before speaking up, "Why do you think you don't need friends?"
"Because they're a waste of time, and energy. Especially when they turn out to be filthy liars who only wanted to use you for their own benefit!" Kilian snapped, "That... and they're just annoying."
"Well, you don't have to be friends with your classmates." y/n offered, "You can be acquaintances. Tell you what, if you make two acquaintances today, we'll go buy strawberry tarts."
"Deal." Kilian said without missing a heartbeat before beginning to practically inhale the pancakes on his plate.
Y/n finished tending to his hair, and she kissed Yuri goodbye when the man departed for work. It was another five minutes before Elena arrived and y/n hurried out to take care of some unknown business.
So, Elena drove Kilian to school.
He got to ride to school in a limousine, bag in his lap as he watched his surroundings zoom by through the window.
"So! First day of school!" Elena chirped as she was driving, "How are you feeling, Young Master Kilian?"
"I'm feeling okay, I guess." 'Auntie is gonna buy me some strawberry tarts!' "And please, just call me Kilian."
"Mm... what about Lord Kilian?"
"I'm not important enough for a title like that." Kilian replied dismissively before offering the woman a little smile, "Besides, since you're going to be my Nanny, we should be friends!"
"Friends...?" Elena echoed.
There was a long moment of silence before her lips quirked up into a little smile, "Very well, Kilian. Let's be friends."
Kilian let out a small exhale before looking out the window once more, a distant look in his eyes.
Soon enough, they pulled up to Eden Academy and Elena stepped out the car. She opened up the door for Kilian with a, "Here we are, Young Master."
He gave the woman a pout, and she gave him a simple little smile in return, "Enjoy your day, Kilian."
At the sound of his name, the boy nodded with a little smile before slipping out of the car. He waved to the woman before beginning to walk away.
Before he could even leave the stairs after ascending and entering the gates of Eden, he heard an excited, "Ian! Ian, over here!"
Ah, great...
Kilian turned towards the source of the voice and found Becky and Anya there. They were both waving to him with bright smiles, clearly gesturing for him to join them.
The boy weighed his options before taking the L and wandering over to join the two girls. They were the only people he kind of knew, and he wasn't willing to interact with anyone else to be honest.
"Anya, Becky. Good morning." he greeted the two of them politely, careful not to think. Instead, he thought of colors.
The only color he could think of was red.
WHY CAN'T HE EVEN HAVE A PEACEFUL MORNING???? IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?!
Ah, wait, no thoughts, only colors.
...
RED.
Anya flinched despite Kilian's mildly friendly expression, startled by how violently he was thinking the word 'red'. Sheesh! What was up with him?!
"Are you okay, Ian? Did you sleep well?" Anya asked the boy with a concerned look, "You seem tired."
Kilian paused before slowly turning his head to look at Anya instead with that unusually friendly look on his face.
"I slept great, actually! I went to bed early!"
'RED. RED. RED. DARN IT, RED!!!!'
Anya gulped, 'Is it some kind of code?'
Kilian turned his attention to the dorms they were passing, "Mm? Are those where the students who live in the dorms stay?" he wondered aloud.
"Yeah, they are!" Becky confirmed before letting out a sigh, "Ah... I'm jealous of the dorm kids who don't have to go to and from school."
"Sharing a dorm? With a bunch of nasty six year olds?" Kilian sputtered in disbelief, 'Without Auntie there?!' "Sounds like a nightmare of you ask me."
As he was speaking, the boy's grey eyes fell upon something which left him feeling rather irritated.
"Especially since those goons would be there."
Becky and Anya looked to where Kilian was looking and found the kid which Anya punched in the face along with his two yee-yee 🍑 haircut goons.
"Eugh..." Becky looked disgusted.
"I agree." Kilian grumbled.
"What do you mean eugh, you rude little kid!" the one with the bowl cut shouted down at Becky.
Kilian scowled, "Put a lid on it, you bumbling blockhead, it's way too early for this crap!"
"What's his problem, huh?!"
"Know your place!" the one with the talk hairstyle snapped and it was his turn to get a glare from Kilian.
Before the boy could say anything, Becky snapped a sharp, "Take your own advice, knucklehead!"
Kilian blinked and gave Becky a little look of surprise. He wasn't expecting that at all.
As Kilian and Becky were glowering at the blond duo, Anya stared at the ebony haired boy for a long moment before taking a couple steps forward.
"Um... yesterday, I..." Anya began awkwardly only for Becky to grab her hand and begin dragging her away.
"Let's go, Anya. Our class is about to start." the girl huffed, and caught Kilian by surprise when she snatched him by the back of his clothing, "You too, Kilian!"
"I, hey-!"
"You'll both catch their stupid germs if you keep on talking to them." the girl was saying as both Anya and Kilian flailed helplessly in her ridiculously strong grasp.
"But world peace!" Anya protested.
As Kilian was just letting this 🐂💩 happen, a glint caught his eye and he looked up to the roof curiously.
There, on the roof, was a dude dressed in nice clothing. He was holding an monocular with a frustrated look on his face. The hell was he doing up there?
For a moment, the duo locked eyes.
The man seemed surprised that this snotty six year old spotted him, and Kilian was just bewildered by his odd behavior. Was he a parent, perhaps? What was he creeping around for???
Kilian eventually waved off the odd sight once they got to the classroom, simply busying himself with getting out his materials for the first class of the day.
Initially, that same group of girls from the previous day had arrived in an attempt to ask Kilian to sit with them, but decided not to when they saw who he was accompanying.
'Well, even more of a reason to stick with these two.' Kilian thought as he opened up a notebook and returned his father's pen, staring at it for a long moment.
It wasn't wise to bring it to school. Children often have sticky fingers, and precious belongings such as the pen could easily disappear.
But... Kilian felt comfortable with it around.
He wasn't as terrified with all these new people.
He'd take that risk.
"You know..." Becky began slowly from where she was sitting on the other side of Anya, catching Kilian's attention.
"Hm." Anya agreed quietly.
"Everyone is staring, huh?" Kilian murmured.
Both Becky and Anya nodded.
"That's the girl who punched someone, right?" a girl in the back asked not so quietly, Kilian recognized her as one of the lunatics who'd grabbed him the other day and basically kidnapped him.
"How scary! So barbaric..." another agreed.
"Is the girl next to her a delinquent too?" a third girl questioned warily, "Is it really safe for Kilian to be sitting there with them?"
'Who are you people, and how the hell do you know my name?!' Kilian thought with a look of puzzlement.
"She just hit him out of nowhere for no reason, right?" a boy nearby questioned in a hushed voice, "That's crazy!"
The quiet murmurs continued, and Kilian looked towards Anya to see how she was reacting. She was the telepath, after all. She heard much more than anyone could ever know.
He watched as a wary look crossed her face and she looked down, seemingly disturbed by whatever thoughts she was hearing.
"People are just so shallow sometimes..." Becky sighed with a little frown, "They only judge people based off of what they see in the surface."
"Oh... are you a smart person, Miss Rich Girl?" Anya asked Becky with a round eyed look, perking up a little.
"Aw, I wouldn't say that." Becky chuckled, "And just call me Becky, not Miss Rich Girl."
"Becky's right, Anya." Kilian agreed quietly, both girls peering at him curiously, "If all our classmates can't see past their assumptions of who you are and what you're like, they're really not worth your time." he glanced at the pink haired girl and offered a rare cheeky grin, "Besides! They're all dimwits, so don't pay them any mind!"
"You sure like calling people names, huh, Kilian?"
"I'm just telling it as it is."
"Alright, be seated!" the teacher called as he entered the classroom and a few other students moved to their seats.
"Hehe, I hope all three of us become the best of friends!" Becky chirped with a bright smile, "I'm the only one who knows how great you are, Anya! Well... aside from Kilian, I guess."
Anya glanced at Kilian and found that he'd gone right back to organizing his work place, a dutiful look on his face.
His thoughts, however...
'Friends... I'm already friends with Anya, I guess, so it couldn't hurt to have one more. Becky seems like a sensible person.' the boy was thinking as he nearly wrote the day on the top of the page in his notebook, 'School will be much nicer with these two around.'
'School is really scary...' Anya thought with an awestruck look, 'But... I guess it may be okay.'
As Becky began to show something cute to Anya and Kilian, the three buffoons in the background were all glaring at them.
"Tch!" bowl cut boy scoffed.
"Why don't you give them a piece of your mind, Lord Damian?" the tall hair style boy inquired.
Damian pressed a hand against the bandage covering the spot where Anya had punched him as the teacher began roll call, 'Hmph, that's right. I'm Damian Desmond. As one of the sons of a prestigious family, I was born into a life of privilege. No one has ever defied me before. I've never even been hit by my older brother.'
"Mr. Desmond!"
'And yet...'
"Mr. Desmond!"
Damian raised a hand, "Here." 'This is the first time I've had to deal with such... with such...'
Anya paused before turning her head to give Damian a wary look. When he realized he'd been caught, Damian looked away.
Anya regarded the bit warily for a moment longer before whispering to Kilian, "Ian, he's staring..."
"Mm, it'll be fine." the boy mumbled without looking up as he opened up his mathematics book.
Anya could only look ahead again, choosing to trust in her friend's words. As class went on, Kilian diligently took notes and devoted all of his attention to the class.
Once he was sure he'd taken a suitable amount of notes, he paused and gave Anya a curious look.
'She... she fell asleep.'
Kilian wasn't too surprised.
Soon, the bell rang and the teacher exited with a wary, 'That one had the nerve to fall asleep during class on the first day! Maybe she actually is a delinquent...'
Kilian began to pack up his items as Becky shook the pink haired girl, "Anya! Class is over! We have science class next, wake up!"
"Ah! Second son!" Anya gasped as she awoke.
"What about him?" Kilian questioned as he grabbed his bag and stepped out from the seat, standing in front of the desk instead as he patiently waited for the two girls.
"I have to apologize to him!" Anya seemed alarmed.
"For punching some sense into him?" Kilian murmured, "If anything, he should be thanking you for giving him a nice little reality check before I could."
"Mm, you should just forget about it, Anya. You don't have to apologize to him for anything!" Becky pointed out as Anya grabbed her items.
"But if I don't apologize, world peace will be in danger!" Anya cried as she hurried to leave class.
As the trio walked down the hall together, Kilian couldn't help but notice the awfully suspicious janitor.
He... felt familiar.
Kilian's eyes narrowed, 'Mm...'
"You mean it'll put your peaceful school life in danger?" Becky wondered aloud, "I mean, yeah... who knows what that crazy kid will try to do."
All of a sudden, Becky threw herself at Anya and gave her a big hug, "Don't worry about it! I'm on your side, Anya! I'll protect you, no matter what! Kilian too!"
"Why am I being dragged into this?!" Kilian demanded from where he stood a distance ahead.
"Cause you're our friend, Ian! You said so!"
"Huh? He did? When?"
"I said no such thing!!!"
"Mm... he's in denial right now, but Kilian will help you too!" Becky pointed out with a sweet little smile.
"Oh, it's okay then." Anya decided.
"Yeah, it is!" Becky agreed.
'NO IT'S NOT!!!'
At the sound of the familiar thought voice thing, Anya whipped around in alarm only to see that janitor from before furiously mopping at the floor.
Kilian noticed the janitor's odd behavior, and frowned, 'Isn't that the guy from the roof...?'
During science class, Kilian took notice of a weird message on the ground. Anya seemed to notice it too, looking around for the source of it. She didn't think to look up and behind her. Kilian did.
Once again, Kilian and that weird blond dude locked eyes. The man flinched when he saw that Kilian had spotted him, while the boy gave him a weirded out look, 'Seriously, dude?'
In Language Class, Kilian was making another set of math notes for Anya since she slept through class. They had to be simple, and easy to understand.
As he was working, Anya tapped him in the shoulder with a soft, "Hey, Ian, my book is a little different..."
He observed it briefly and frowned at the sight.
Yeah, it was definitely different.
It had been tampered with.
'That blond guy again?' Kilian wondered as he retrieved his own language book and passed it to Anya with a hushed, "Here, have mine instead."
On their way to lunch, Becky was saying something about how the classes were already brutal, but Kilian wasn't really paying attention. Neither was Anya.
The bushes beside the path way had been trimmed and cut to spell the word, S O R R Y
They had both spotted the message on another passing student's back which read, "sorry!"
'Okay, this is getting out of hand...' Kilian thought with an exasperated exhale, brows furrowed.
"New students, you can order whatever you'd like for lunch." another teacher was saying as all the children gathered in the cafeteria.
"Huh... well, they're nowhere near as talented as my chef..." Becky murmured as she kept a tight hold on Kilian's sleeve to keep him in place, much to his annoyance.
"Anya wants omelet rice!" Anya exclaimed.
"I'll go find us some seats." Kilian mumbled, prying himself out of Becky's grasp, "I brought lunch anyways."
"Wait, what???"
When they all got seated, Becky and Anya having received their lunches, they found that Anya's lunch was decorated with the words "sorry"
"Huh. What a bizarre dish." Becky murmured, "Remind me not to order it. Ever."
Kilian felt the familiar feeling of a watching gaze and his head snapped towards the source. IT WAS THAT BLOND DUDE AGAIN!
'Go away, creep!'
"Kilian, you brought lunch?" Becky asked as the boy opened up his lunch box and took out the containers of food, "How come you only bought juice and tomato soup?"
"I like my Auntie's cooking." Kilian replied simply as he grabbed a slice of a grilled cheese sandwich and dipped it into the tomato soup he'd bought, "Anything else is far below my standards."
"So your Aunt must be a world renowned chef then!"
"You could say that."
Right on time, the three boys Kilian had quickly come to dislike entered the lunchroom together. And who tf did Damian think he was, Regina George???
"Ah! Second Son!" Anya gasped.
"Ewww, go eat in your dorm!" Becky complained.
"I have to apologize!" Anya cried, getting up to run after the dark haired boy only for Becky to grab her.
"Oh no you don't!" Becky said sharply, "They're the ones at fault, don't bother apologizing to them!"
Anya looked to Kilian for advice but he was too busy basking in the glorious delicacy that was a grilled cheese sandwich cooked by his beloved Aunts.
Telling from his thoughts, he was in absolute heaven.
Anya didn't want to know what kind of rage she would face if she were to interrupt his meal.
Not even five minutes later, the intercom came on with a, "Becky Blackbell from Class 1-3. Come to the student hall in Tower A immediately."
"Huh? But I'm still eating!" Becky protested.
"Now!"
The girl let out a frustrated groan and hopped out of her seat, running off to head towards Tower A.
Kilian just kept on eating.
Even when Anya got up. Even when that dumb🍑 Damian kid's goons started making fun of Anya.
Nothing would ruin his lunch for him.
...
"I'm... um..."
Kilian was alerted by Anya's teary voice, and he whipped around to see her standing in from of Damian and those two side characters with tears in her eyes.
"I'm really sorry..." she whimpered between her tears, pausing with a little sniffle, "—that I suddenly hit you! I just wanted to be friends with you!"
Anya was crying.
Anya. Crying.
Oh hell no.
Kilian stood up, slamming his hands against the table and alerting the nearby children as fury lit his grey gaze.
For a short while, Yuri had been the only victim of Kilian's devastating kick to the balls stunt.
It seemed as though that would no longer be the case.

If you haven't figured it out yet, y/n doesn't joke around when people happen to betray her trust.
Aurel Ruell had known that there would be dire consequences if Y/n Leone ever found out that he'd been withholding information about her brother's killer.
He'd been the first to be caught and interrogated personally by the woman three years ago. Back then, he quickly learned not to underestimate her.
Aurel had been placed in a room with five others who were involved in the murder and the slightly younger y/n had been there, asking them all questions.
In the beginning he thought, 'Who does this kid think she is? She wouldn't have it in her to do anything to us.'
Oh how wrong he was.
That look in her eye was very real. The first idiot to provoke her was shot in the thigh. Particularly his femoral artery.
How the hell she managed to hit it, Aurel didn't know.
After realizing just how 🚚ed he was, the first man spilled everything he knew and was taken away to be treated. At least, that's what y/n had ordered.
Achille was loved, he was cherished.
Those loyal to him were hit just as hard by his death as his own family, so Aurel wouldn't have been surprised if the people who took that first man away let him bleed out and die rather than following orders.
After that experience, narrowly escaping with his life after he confessed everything he knew, Aurel went into hiding for two years before he gained the courage to emerge once more.
Only for the woman to snatch him by the collar and drag him right back for questioning yet again.
Aurel was awaiting some unfortunate death by the hands of the cold-hearted woman's attack dog, Corinne, or perhaps being framed for some unspeakable crime, or maybe even being beaten to death!
Instead... he was sitting across from y/n and having lunch with her at her lovely estate. He was far too nervous to eat, even though the five course meal in front of them was definitely impressive, while y/n simply enjoyed her lunch with a peaceful expression.
"Is the food not to your liking?" the woman suddenly inquired and Aurel jumped, startled by the sudden noise.
"O-Oh, that's not it, I just..." Aurel gulped quietly and smiled nervously, "I already had lunch..."
"Mm, I see." she murmured before gesturing to the tea cup within his range, "Well, you seem nervous. Go on and have some tea. It's chamomile, it'll help you relax."
Afraid to anger the woman, Aurel shakily lifted the cup and sipped some tea. He paused for a long moment. Well, he wasn't dead yet, so he deemed it safe and kept drinking.
"You must be wondering why I've brought you here." y/n began quietly, e/c eyes moving from another cup of tea at the table to Aurel instead, "Obviously, it's about Achille. A little someone told me that you were the one to put together the poison which killed my brother, correct?"
Aurel gulped and nodded slowly.
"And you lied to me about it three years before." y/n continued slowly, Aurel keeping his nervous gaze in her hand as she gripped her fork a little tighter, "Correct?"
"Yes ma'am." Aurel whispered, bowing his head.
The silence was demeaning as y/n didn't say a word, and the man nearly 💩 himself when the young woman who sat across from him let out a soft, "I see."
"So, I heard you've taken on a job as a Pharmacist." y/n hummed as she took a sip from her own cup of tea, voice uncharacteristically friendly, "How do you like your job?"
...
Err... that was unexpected.
How the woman went from furious to friendly in a matter of seconds. It was unsettling, but it had been three years. Maybe she wasn't super pissed about him lying...?
"Err, well, I'm still getting used to it." Aurel admitted, relaxing a little as he thought of that kind face he'd become accustomed to seeing every time he went in for work, "But everyone is really nice, and I've begun to make a couple of friends."
"Mm... that's unfortunate." y/n murmured, earning a curious look from the man. A shiver ran down his spine when he saw the cold look on her face, and that signature scary stare of hers as they locked gazes. "I was hoping that I could end your life without having to worry about causing any heartache to anyone else."
Aurel let out a gasp, standing up abruptly only for a wave of nausea hit him. Y/n only calmly continued to sip at her cup of tea when the man collapsed by the table.
"Oh dear, feeling a little unsteady?" y/n asked, rising from her seat with that icy cold gaze Aurel had come to fear.
"What... what did you do?!" Aurel demanded as he attempted to crawl away from the woman, only to let out a blood curdling scream after she took her fork and stabbed it right through his hand.
In the midst of the pain, he felt a hand grab his hair before y/n tugged his head up so they were making eye contact.
"Oh, I figured you would've realized it sooner." y/n murmured with a little frown, "It's the same damned poison you used to kill my brother, dimwit."
Aurel let out a tiny gasp at that.
It was??? So she was intending to kill him!
He was stupid for even considering for a second that this woman would actually let him leave alive!
"P-Please! Please don't do this!" Aurel cried, tears gathering in his eyes, "I-I don't want to die! It wasn't me, I swear! It was him! It was him! He made me cover for him so you wouldn't know! Please!"
"Who's him?" y/n demanded, shaking the man lightly as he began to panic and hyperventilate, "Spit it out already!"
"I... I...!"
Aurel's eyes rolled to the back of his head and y/n crouched there for a long moment before letting go of his hair and allowing his head to smack against the ground.
'Huh. I forgot that he easily fainted.'
Damn. And the answer was so close too.
"Is it done?" Laurence inquired, opening the door to the dining hall with a curious look before spotting the unconscious man on the ground, "...oh."
"Take him to the cellar and tie him up. Also... have someone there for cleaning." y/n sighed as she got to her feet and dusted herself off, "Those laxatives I put in his tea will have him 💩ting up a storm for hours."
Laurence gave the man one last look before opening up the door fully for y/n to exit. As they were leaving, two men hurried past them and back into the dining room to retrieve Aurel and move him to the cellar instead.
"Any results? Did he say anything?" Laurence questioned as him and the woman strode down the hall of the great mansion together.
"He mentioned a him... I can't confirm who it is yet, and I don't think Aurel will make a peep around me any longer, so we'll need some help." y/n mumbled before waving a hand, "Call Oleander for me. The SSS owe me a favor, and I think it's about time I used it."
Laurence bowed his head, "Of course. Also, before you go, there's something I think you might want to know."
Y/n paused, and gave the man a curious look.
"What is it?"
"It's Kilian. He got into trouble at school. Elena is already there to pick him up." Laurence replied.
"Wait, what happened?!"
"He... uhm... may have gotten into a little fist fight."
...
Y/n had to process that for a moment.
Her nephew. Her sassy little nephew.
Kilian.
Got into an actual fist fight?
This had to be a joke.
