"Ayumu! Y/n! Just in time!" Teppei exclaimed when the two returned to camp, both or them carrying a ton of Naku Weed.
"Something happened." y/n realized before Teppei could say anything, "Where's General Gorou?"
"Him and a couple of others have gone to the front line, Aether included." Teppei explained, "Kujou Sara and the Shogun's Army were spotted there!"
"Huh? Seriously?" Ayumu looked irritated, "Isn't Aether supposed to be resting?"
"Wait, he is? He seemed fine when he left- HEY! Y/N!" Teppei jumped when y/n zoomed past him and had a bunch of Naku Weed dumped in his arms, "Ayumu! Where are you guys going!?"
Neither replied, already far away.
"I can't tell if you're worried about little blondilocks or your girlfriend!" Ayumu snickered as he ran alongside y/n.
"How about everyone???" y/n sputtered, "You realize people die in war, right?"
"Wait, really? :o" Ayumu gasped and laughed when y/n swung at him.
As they neared, y/n heard Sara's voice go, "Why not represent the resistance in a fight of honor?"
"Oh hell-" y/n shook her head, "Ayumu! Is there any way we can get there quicker?"
"Y/n you have an electro vision. You can just make yourself faster or something." Ayumu pointed out.
Y/n gave him a blank look.
"Okay, I'll think of another way."
A distance away, over on the front line, the Resistance and the Shogun's army were just... there.
The only people talking were Paimon, Gorou, Sara and Aether who was supposed to be resting.
"A fight of honor...?" Paimon echoed.
"Before the battle begins, each side chooses their best warrior for a match of single combat." Gorou explained, "To the superior force, there is little significance in such a duel. But for the weaker force, victory could constitute an important boost to their morale."
In the background, Aether noticed a trail of fire in the sky. Slowly getting closer.
...and closer.
And... closer...
"Her motives are clear. She wants to use the match as an opportunity to capture you. Do not feel compelled to participate-" Gorou began before he too noticed the trail of fire, "What is that."
Paimon looked up, "What is what?"
BOOM
Whatever tf that thing was hit the ground, kicking up a bunch of sand.
Soldiers from both sides were coughing and waving at the sand while also preparing for some kind of attack.
"Agh, Ayu, what the 🚚!!!"
"Sorry, sorry!!!"
As the sand clear, everyone spotted Ayumu with a terrified Y/n beside him. Where did they come from?
"I'll do it!" y/n shouted, pushing Ayumu away, "I'll represent the Resistance in a fight of honor!"
"Y/n, what the 🚚?!" Aether, Gorou, Sara and Ayumu shouted simultaneously.
"You don't get to say 💩, Aether!!!" y/n snapped, "Sit your ♀️🐶 🚚 down and rest!"
"But I-"
"REST!!!"
"Y/n, you-" Ayumu began.
"I'M PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF FIGHTING, EVEN IF IT'S SCARY!!" y/n shouted, "I'm doing it! You can't change my mind!"
Gorou nodded, "Alright..."
Sara looked as though she wanted to say something but Ayumu had already moved to give y/n some space.
It was a minute or two before one soldier was sent up to go against y/n.
You already know how that went.
Y/n is terrified of geovishaps.
The dude wasn't a geovishap.
Y/n had no issues beating him.
Next dude, same thing.
Not a geovishap.
No issues beating him.
The third time though... uh...
"EHH???? WHAT THE HELL?!" y/n cried, "THIS DUDE IS HUGE! NO WAY, IM NOT FIGHTING HIM!!!"
Ayumu and Aether simultaneously facepalmed themselves, sighing.
"Just great! How is y/n gonna win this round?" Paimon cried, eyes wide.
"Wait a minute... doesn't y/n usually fight really well when she's unconscious?" Aether pointed out, "If we can get her to faint, she might win."
"ACK! NO! WAIT!" y/n shrieked as she jumped and dodged to avoid being hit by the massive samurai's attacks.
"That's a good idea! But... how do we make her faint?" Paimon wondered aloud.
"Maybe get her flustered?" Ayumu suggested then grinned, "If that's what we need to do, I can handle it."
Aether and Paimon gave Ayumu weary looks with a quiet, simultaneous, "...huh?"
Ayumu winked, "Leave it to me."
"Wait, wait, wait, maybe we can talk about this- EEK!" y/n almost had her arm hecking sliced off.
"Quit rambling and fight!" the samurai snapped, clearly getting impatient, "You're supposed to be that old geezer's student, right? You're hardly competent enough to be associated with him."
Y/n flinched, "W-What?'
"Y/n!" Ayumu called and she looked back at him with curious e/c eyes.
He was smiling and y/n expected some encouraging words but instead got...
"If you win, I'll let you tie me up and degrade me all you want!" Ayumu exclaimed, "Heck, I'll even call you [censored]!"
Y/n stared in shock.
Everyone on both sides looked shocked.
Paimon burst into laughter.
The samurai who was fighting y/n stared at Ayumu in disbelief.
"Ayu. Please-" y/n wheezed.
"And you can ***** till I **** and *** **** **** and ******* ****" Ayumu continued shamelessly as y/n's face began to burn with embarrassment.
"St-stop talking! You're putting images in my mind!" y/n complained, shaking.
"What? Would you rather I dominate you?" Ayumu inquired then smirked, "Oo, I bet you'd love a threesome with Haiyang too! Imagine the hot stuff he'd say to both of us. I wonder if he'd like bondage."
Y/n was done. She fainted.
Everyone stared in shock as y/n on the ground, hecking unconscious.
There was silence.
The vortexes out at sea, the vortexes scattered across the island, the raging fight between gods over on Narukami, the ocean and Paimon's laughter were the only things filling the silence.
"Does this mean he wins?" Gorou wondered aloud and Ayumu shook his head.
"Nope, just watch the magic happen Doggy General!" Ayumu snickered.
Everyone stared at the unconscious y/n expectantly. And, when every blinked...
She was gone.
The samurai y/n had been fighting jumped, reaching for his sword, "The hell?!"
There was a flash of purple as the samurai was struck by y/n's electro infused blade before being hit by a bolt of electro energy.
Yeah, he ain't fighting anymore.
"Yayyy! Y/n!" Ayumu and Paimon cheered as y/n popped back into existence, still unconscious as she flicked her blade to rid it of blood.
The Resistance cheered while Sara's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Told you not to underestimate her." Sara murmured before shouting, "Soldiers, attack! Glory to the Mighty Shogun and her everlasting reign!"
"Oh, 💩!" Ayumu's eyes lit up as he drew his sword, "It's been a while since I've last been in a big fight like this!"
"Prepare to engage!" Gorou exclaimed as Ayumu ran to the unconscious yet still standing y/n's side, "All of you, with me!"
And when both sides charged towards one another, Aether lost sight of y/n.
Despite that... he wasn't worried.
Y/n could take care of herself.
He was sure of it.
~~~ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ•°*
At some point within the battle, y/n regained her consciousness. However, she didn't panic.
Actually, she didn't even miss a beat as her mindset clicked to adjust to her current situation.
This was a battle.
There was no time to hesitate or be afraid. One wrong move could result in her life ending.
Y/n inhaled deeply then exhaled as group of the Shogun soldiers ran for her at all sides.
No problem at all.
Meanwhile, Ayumu was with Aether. They'd eventually found each other amidst the chaos and decided to stick together, Paimon using the duo as human shields.
"You good, blondilocks?" Ayumu inquired as he pulled his blade out of a very much dead enemy, "Tired?"
"Nope, not at all." Aether puffed out.
Ayumu snickered, "Whatever you say."
As the battle raged on, Aether noticed something. Bubbles. There were bubbles rising from the ground.
And then some random fish lady descended from the sky like Jesus coming back to tell us we're all screwed.
"Yo! Kokomi!" Ayumu exclaimed, eyes sparkling with excitement, "You're here!"
"The wait is over, my comrades! Now is our moment!" Kokomi declared as more members of the Resistance chathed forwards.
And amongst them...
Oh.
Oh 💩.
Y/n heard a familiar sound, it was a soft one. Hardly noticeable but still there.
She recognized it just as she heard it.
"Kazuha!" y/n gasped, eyes lighting up when she spotted the familiar samurai amidst the battle.
Kazuha heard her voice and looked towards her with bright eyes, "Y/n!"
Their eyes met very briefly before they were separated by the chaos once more, y/n having to focus on fighting again when someone came out of nowhere and barreled into her.
"Damn it!" y/n hissed when her sword was thrown off into some unknown location.
She looked back and found the samurai from earlier staring her down.
"You." he said in a low voice.
Y/n tensed, "M-Me...?"
"I can't believe someone like you has a vision. You're a coward, you run at the first sign of danger." the random dude continued as he advanced towards y/n while she backed away, "You're an embarrassment to Tsuji-san and a 💩 stain on his legacy. The decrepit old man must've been out of his mind when he chose to take you in as his student."
Y/n prepared to defend herself, electro energy slowly gathering together to form another sword, "Say what you will about me but don't you ever insult Gramps like that!"
"Gramps?!" the man demanded, "Insolent little-!!!"
Before he could finish his sentence, a huge plume of water just burst up out of nowhere.
Both y/n and the rude dude looked up in shock as the water took the form of yet another nope rope and glowered down at the battle field.
Everyone stopped to look up in shock as the thing actually SPOKE.
"Watch your mouth. You worthless piece of filth." the thing hissed.
"Haiyang...?" y/n whispered and let out a half scream/half gasp when a big ol wave came out of nowhere and snatched the man across from her, dragging him to the sea.
At once, random waves started washing on shore and dragging members of the opposing army into the sea, their screams drowned out by the crashing waves and eventually silenced by the dark water.
Y/n stared in horror as the water close to shore was tinted with crimson. Oh dear. That wasn't good. Y/n really didn't want to know what happened to them.
"Retreat!" Sara shouted above the disorder and her soldiers were quick to obey, practically trampling over each other in their haste to get away from the water.
Haiyang, or rather the sea serpent he was speaking through, lowered its head so it could make eye contact with y/n.
"Haiyang, are you alright?" y/n asked warily, a little nervous about getting too close as well, "Are you injured?"
The sea serpent shook its head, "No, I'm fine. That Archon of yours though... she's very good at fighting. I'm enjoying our fight very much."
"Wait, you're still fighting?! Will you be alright without a rest?"
A rumbling chuckle left the snake, "I'll be fine. She's not as devastating as Morax was during his prime. Besides, I'm not a mortal. I'll be just fine, y/n. For now, take care of yourself."
"Will do." y/n murmured with a nod, hesitating a moment before adding, "Don't do anything reckless."
The snake didn't reply, sinking back into the water.
Y/n didn't move though, staring at the dark crimson in the water. Damn. She was very glad that she had befriended Haiyang.
"Y/n!" someone shouted and y/n turned in time to get a big hug from Kazuha, one that nearly sent them both toppling to the ground.
"Oh! Kazuha!" y/n exclaimed as she pulled away to get a good look at him, "Please tell me you're real and not a sign that I'm going insane."
Kazuha chuckled, "Well, I'd like to think I'm real."
Y/n's smile fell, "Kazuha."
"Okay, okay, I'm only joking. It's good to see you, y/n." Kazuha laughed as y/n dragged him back into the hug with a huff.
