77: 𝑅𝑢𝑛
A/N: OooOo... We have a lot of interesting (longish) chapters coming up!
"YOU KNEW?!?!" Bakugou yelled staring at Kira. "I'M GONNA KILL YOU!!"
"It's not my fault!" Kira yelled back. "I told you he was gonna FAIL me Katsuki!" She said with an eyeroll.
"ME AND KACCHAN?! Oh I'm so excited - except that it's against All Might... We can't beat him- But maybe we can run away! No Kacchan won't go for that. He'll try to fight, I know him well enough. But I'm sure we can still pass!! He might make it a little difficult but he's Kacchan and that's what I love about him-"
He glanced over at Kira who stared into his very soul from the other side of group. Able to hear him through everyone else.
"I MEAN WHAT??!?! KACCHAN? EW I HATE KACCHAN!!!! I DON'T WANT TO FIGHT WITH HIM AND SEE HIM ALL SWEATY AND STUFF. NUH UH NOT ME!!" He screamed suddenly.
This has been going on literally since the day he found out about her quirk. BUT he hadn't tried anything. He knew he was in checkmate, one word from Kira about his twisted thoughts could definitely ruin him.
He kept wondering why she hadn't done it yet. Why she hadn't told everyone everything yet.
Kira wondered too. But even though Midoriya was literally human trash. His thoughts were still his own. Kira didn't feel right telling everyone everything.
And even if she talked about his past and his actual ACTIONS, that would bring up stuff about Bakugou that he didn't want anyone to know about.
She couldn't do that to Bakugou. Not just for the sake of slandering Midoriya. What good would that do anyway? Revenge wouldn't fix anything he messed up. Wouldn't heal Bakugou
But If Midoriya ever tried anything new. Ever tried to manipulate anyone any more.
She wouldn't hesitate to speak up.
But until then he could keep his little crush and his friend group. There's no way he could keep this up forever, he'll end up being his own downfall.
"Why are you staring at Deku?!" Bakugou glared at her and she turned her attention to him.
"Would you rather me stare at you?" She raised an eyebrow raise.
Bakugou huffed and rolled his eyes. "You couldn't have even given me a warning??" He hissed. He was pretty angry right now. At everyone.
At her for not telling.
At All Might and Nezu and Aizawa for planning it.
And at Deku for existing.
"And now Mr Aizawa would you please?"
Nezu asked interrupting them, pulling out a sealed envelope.
"Tell us who our mindreader will be facing?"
Kira turned her attention to them as Aizawa rolled his eyes and opened the seal of the envelope. Everyone was curious and most were glad that Kira was just as clueless as they had been.
The only group announced so far was Bakugou's, so even her partner would be a surprise.
Though Kira had an idea of who she'd be fighting and who with.
Aizawa pulled it out and looked at it. "Really?" He asked the principal that was sitting on his shoulder.
"Oh that's right haha!" The rat smiled.
Kira Kokoa and Denki Kaminari will be facing me~"
"Of course." Kira said with a frown.
She was teamed up with. And fighting against the only person she couldn't hear a single thought from. She would practically be fighting completely quirkless.
"Why not?" Kira mumbled. She was kinda panicking. Sure Nezu wasn't all that tough.
But he was brilliant. Smarter than she was. He was a total mad super genius, he'd probably find a way to fight from afar. Now she was gonna lose and probably drag Kaminari down with her.
"Wow Nezu?" Denki said with a smile. "Hey that shouldn't be that hard! Especially not with your quirk!" He looked over at Kira but must've caught her look of panic.
"Kaminari... I can't read Nezu. Or you." Kris explained to him.
Kira would be going in completely blind. Nezu was such a an asshole, a cheeky little bastard. She totally hated him. So so much.
She spent hours of her time helping him and his school and this is how he repays her?
"Oh..." Denki whispered. "Oh that's not good."
"Come on it's a fucking weasel Kira. It can't be that hard." Bakugou said, his only way to try and cheer someone up.
"That weasel is smarter than all of us combined. And considering his mind is a mental block he has every advantage over us. He knows the landscape better, hell he probably designed it! He knows me and Denki better than we know ourselves and he's had weeks to plan." Kira said seriously.
"Oh okay!" Denki smiled. "So we're doomed! Gotcha!" He said with a scared smile.
"Yeah. And I'll be quirkless out there. Not to mention our match is first." Kira said after reading Aizawa's thoughts. "We have less than half an hour to plan." Kira mumbled.
"That's your job." Kaminari said. Turning to her. "I doubt I'd be much help." Kira could tell he was feeling pretty hopeless.
"I'm sorry Denki. I didn't mean to get you down, hopefully I can come up with something." Kira said, trying to make the guy feel better.
"I hope so too." Denki mumbled.
Bakugou stood by them, avoiding Midoriya. He didn't want to talk to him or strategize at all. Both of them had totally different ideas on what they were going to do. And neither were that great.
But Midoriya was probably right in wanting to run away. That would be the safest option after all. But Bakugou was never one to care about safety. He just wanted to show Midoriya that he was stronger. That his plans were better.
He wanted to show the class and teachers his strength. Because he didn't have much. He wasn't great with people or at communication. He wasn't the absolute best at academics.
But he was damn good at fighting.
Kira on the other hand... Was not.

"So... What do you think?" Denki asked, adjusting his equipment.
"Nezu is smart." Kira said, pulling her gloves up. They stood in the center of the city. Waiting for the timer to start.
"He knows he can't fight us. Is strength is in his intellect. He'll find a way to effect us from afar. A method to protect himself and also block out exits. But every move he makes will be thoroughly planned out and based on intense calculations." Kira whispered. "Our only chance is to find his location. Retreating won't do any good, if he knows we can't see him he understands that retreating will be our best move."
"But if he's super smart doesn't that mean he knows you know this?" Denki asked, sweating anxiously. "So what if he tricks us into believing he'll do one thing and he does the other instead?!"
Kira bit her lip. She really should stop saying all her assumptions out loud. It was freaking Denki out. But Kira needed to fill the air with noise. All she heard was the crackling static coming from Denki's brain.
That's all, every sound of her boots on the ground was unnaturally loud. Unmuffled by thoughts.
She was really out of her element here. She was very uneasy and disturbed. Like she had been deprived of one of her senses. Like she lost the ability to taste or smell.
Everything was so empty.
Man, Nezu must really hate her to put her through this.
"I guess we'll just have to wait then. Try to figure out his plan. Get in his head like he's in ours. But-"
"WHOOOOOS READYYYYYYY?!?!" Mic's boisterous voice yelled over the speakers. Kira almost thanked God for the noise.
It's funny how often she wished for silence, but was driven mad when she finally got it.
"Not me." Denki whimpered in reply to Mic. Shaking in his spot, afraid the Nezu was gonna jump out of the shadows and chew off their faces.
"COUNT DOWN STARTS IN THREE... TWO... A-ONE!!! LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!!"
Dramatically on que there was a thunderous boom to Kira's left. It was very far, so far she couldn't see the actual cause. She could however see the result.
"RUN!!" Kira yelled, shoving Denki's back to their left. They took off as buildings started to collapse in a chain reaction. They ran for three minutes before they actually had a chance to catch their breath.
"Damn." Kira gasped. "He just blocked off the closest exit." She wheezed.
"So you were right." Denki said, looking at her. "What now?" He asked.
"He's gonna keep doing it. We have to find out where he is. He's probably in something, using machinery to knock over buildings perfectly to cause a chain reaction."
Kira said.
"No, what do we do now?" Denki asked again. Kris realized that she was fully in charge of her fellow student. Dude was gonna do whatever she said.
There was another crashing sound.
"Now we run again."
