33: 𝑆ℎ𝑒'𝑠 𝑅𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡
So the one person who offered her an internship was the one person other than Nezu and Aizawa (and now Monoma) who knew about her quirk.
Detective Naomasa.
Kira would be interning at the police station under him. Not the flashiest gig but they wanted her, plus she was sure she could have fun there.
"Hey, what about the other students? You know, students who aren't in the hero course?" Kira asked Aizawa as the class waited to be picked up.
"General studies students aren't given internships due to their lack of experience."
Aizawa said. "But if you must know, this week I will be personally assessing and training Shinso Hitoshi." He added mentally.
Kira nodded and smiled slightly, of course Aizawa wanted to take in Shinso. They were so similar and Aizawa saw the boy as his younger self. He also saw Kira that way sometimes.
"So Baku-bro." Kira put her arm on his shoulder. "Where ya headed?"
"I'm interning with Best Jeanest! From the top ten." Bakugou said with a cocky smirk. "What about you newbie?"
"Just a police detective. We've met before, should be interesting." She shrugged.
"Haha, loser." He snickered.
Kira rolled her eyes and smacked his arm playfully. "Yeah yeah, have fun with Best Jeanest. Dude seemed pretty uptight if you ask me." She warned.
"I don't care as long as I get to Murder some villains!" He said with a toothy grin.
"Whatever you say explodo boy."
"DON'T CALL ME EXPLODO BOY!!"

Kira giggled at a message from Bakugou.
Explodo-Boy💥
I hate Best Jeanest.
Kira was in the back of a cop car, were the felons usually sit. She was sitting there because two officers including Naomosa were taking up the only seats upfront. She took a selfie earlier for fun because it looked like she had been arrested.
Newbie🎧
That bad huh?
Explodo-Boy💥
He spent the first ten minutes grooming my hair. Now he's making me wear skinny jeans.
Newbie🎧
That's Hilarious. Let me see the hair.
Explodo-Boy💥
Never.
Bakugou didn't message after that. Probably too busy trying on skinny jeans. Kira was in civilian clothes. Her hero costume still not yet completed, but she wasn't in any rush. She was wearing a baggy tank top, jeans and a sports bra. Nothing too fancy.
When they got too the station however she was given a uniform to wear when they went out and stuff. Which was pretty fucking lit if you asked her.

Kira sat in the passenger seat beside detective Naomosa. She was in the uniform, a tucked in blue button up shirt and darker blue pants. With a tie and a hat that she neglected to wear.
She yawned as they slowly drove through a neighborhood. It was her first actual day, yesterday she had arrived. She was shown around the police station and introduced to different officers and chiefs and detectives. She stayed the night with Naomasa and his wife. A sweet, short blonde woman.
Now they were just patrolling, the same way Pros do. Driving around, waiting to see if something bad happened. The radio crackled and Naomosa picked it up. Someone found a dead body in a neighborhood not too far from where they were driving.
The woman on the radio gave a set of numbers that Naomosa translated in his head. "Looks like a suicide, reported by sister to a pro hero. Why they always tell pros and not us irritates me. The pros have a separate job from the police, that's like calling the parks department for a pothole on the road."
"Guess people rely on Pros alot because they're more prominent social figures." Kira shrugged, answering his thoughts.
"Of course they trust them to handle issues more. But it just takes them away from combat." He sighed and turned a corner quickly. "We're gonna check it out so the pro can continue their actual job."

The death took place in a small house right in the middle of a pretty crowded neighborhood. There were no cars at the house but the door was open and a pro walked out to greet them.
"H-Hi! You're an officer?" He said, he was young. College age and probably a sidekick.
"Wow she looks really young. But she's in a cop car and has a uniform on."
"This is Kira my intern. I'm police detective Naomosa, there should be an ambulance on the way to take care of the body. I just have a few things to check off before I can clear this as a suicide. Shouldn't take long at all."
Naomosa said with a smile.
"Oh an intern... That makes more sense."
He smiled at Kira and nodded at the detective who was already getting out of the car. Kira waited for him to move away from her car door. "Is she gonna stay in the car?"
"Um... Excuse me." She said, nudging him with her door.
"Oh shoot I'm sorry!" He jumped back and laughed nervously. "Idiot, you were blocking her exit. God I'm such a screw up."
"No problem." Kira waved it off and stepped out. Following the dejected sidekick as he walked towards the door. She started picking up on three more trains of thought.
"I understand that we were patrolling nearby, but it is really unnecessary for a pro to be called for a detective's job."
"I can't believe this... I can't... It can't be true!! She would never... Oh God my sister... My big sister... Why?! She wouldn't... How could she... It doesn't make any sense... she tells me everything..."
"Oh God I've never seen a dead body up close before. She doesn't even really look dead, other than being a little pale. And the blood of course. But she still looks... Normal. I don't know what I thought a corpse would look less human."
Kira perked up at that last thought. Though the situation was very sober she felt a twinge of excitement. She walked in. The sidekick stood beside a weeping woman in a kitchen area. The sister. The living room, separated from the kitchen by only a bar had the rest of the people.
One woman, slumped in a chair with a gun pressed into her right hand and a bullet wound on the side of her temple.
A recognizable pro, with jeans pulled up to his eyeballs and polished blonde hair.
And his new intern.
"I like the hair." Kira whispered to Bakugou who spun around. His hair was thoroughly combed and gelled down.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" He hissed but the look of happiness in his eyes betrayed him. He was just as excited as she was. "Kira!? Of course, she's interning with the police. I didn't expect her to just show up. I guess this day just got a little less lame"
Kira beamed and her stomach fluttered with happiness. It had been a long long time since someone got excited when they saw her. She couldn't remember the last time someone lit up when she walked into the room.
A pity a suicide was what temporarily brought them together.
Best Jeanest and Naomosa spoke lowly to each other. The sidekick was comforting the sister and trying to convince her to let him take her away from the house.
She refused to leave.
"No! No you don't under this isn't a suicide! She would never... I know my sister! Nina would never do something like this!" She cried out.
Kira felt extreme saddness and grief coming from the woman. But also a stark determination. She wouldn't leave until they believed her. Kira glanced back down at the dead woman.
She was in a blouse that was messily buttoned up. Several buttons missed and skipped their proper holes. Her hair was short like Kira's, but a dirty blonde color. Blood streaked down the side of her head and stained the blouse.
Her left hand had a grey smudge on it and she had light pink lipstick over her lips she also had on eyeshadow, and eyeliner.
Makeup.
Something felt off. Kira glanced around, looking around the cozy den. There were a ton of notebooks everywhere. Some for writing, some for sketching. One was sitting on a table right next to Kira. She glanced at the woman's hand again.
That grey smudge stuck out to her.
She flipped the book open.
"The hell is she doing?" Bakugou wondered, glancing over at her. "Stop poking around." He hissed. She waved him off.
Inside the sketchbook were detailed charcoal and pencil sketches. They were each hyper realistic. Those finished looked like a black and white picture.
Kira noticed a detail that was the same in every one. Grey smudges on the left side of the page. They also all had dates, one for when it started. One for when she finished it. Many took several days.
Kris flipped to the last page, it always half finished. Started just two days ago. It was a sleeping baby, curled up in soft blankets.
She heard a truck pull up. An ambulance, here to pick up the body.
"NO!!" The sister screamed. "No you can't move her! Please just listen to me!" She begged, shaking the sidekick that looked like his heart was breaking for her.
"She didn't kill herself! I know my sister! She was h-happy! She loved her life!" The woman looked around frantically. Especially at best Jeanest.
"Ma'am I know this must be a lot for you. This is a perfectly normal reaction." Naomosa said gently. "I am so sorry for you loss, but... Your sister did kill herself."
Kira noticed something white under the couch and walked over to it.
"NO!!! No she didn't I swear!! S-someone killed her!" The woman sobbed. Kira picked up the familiar looking object. Two more men walked in with a stretcher and a sheet.
"THIS WASN'T A SUICIDE!!" The woman screamed. Best Jeanest rubbed his eyes.
"I think..."
They turned to Kira who had spoke up for the first time since teasing Bakugou. Kira glanced up from the white object.
"I think she's right."
