HOW YOU MEET

Slayers:

Tanjiro:

You two met in the woods.

You were running from your abusive parents and was looking for a place to find refuge. You stumbled upon Tanjiro and his crew. Instantly you joined them, asking for help - anything to get farther away from your cold mother and sadistic father. Tanjiro noticed your bruises and didn't question it, immediately taking you in and sloppily wrapping bandages around your broken arm.

He asked you questions about where you came from and how you got the bruises, but you dodged each inquiry, insisting that you were running from a bear, which he didn't believe.

He gave you a smile to reassure you, which worked, and he grabbed your uninjured hand and helped you up.

Afterwards, they continued on their journey to God knows where. You insisted that you'd be fine on your own, wanting to seek out your cousins for help. He was hesitant to let you go, but in the end you went your separate ways.

Inosuke:

You met in the Tsuzumi Mansion.

You'd been a prisoner there for God knows how long, and you were wandering the halls aimlessly looking for a way out when Inosuke burst through the walls, screaming some nonsense about a demon. You just looked at him like he was insane, and when you asked him what he was doing he just snorted, grabbed your hand, and left, not really saying anything else.

Later, you realized that he was a demon slayer trying to find the demon controlling the Mansion and kill it. You stuck to his side in hopes of helping him find the demon and escape. You also stuck by him to help him whenever he needed it, though he insisted that it was fine.

Soon, Tanjiro and Zenitsu arrived and the demon was killed, which set you all free. He tried to get your name and fight you after the fact, but you quickly left, anxious to get back to your village.

Zenitsu:

You met during the final selection.

You were near the base of the mountain on your third night, and tired as hell. By that point, you'd killed two demons and were pretty proud of yourself, considering the fact that you were a novice at Flame Breathing. You came across a river and crouched down, taking a grateful sip of the crystal liquid.

As you rose and stretched, you heard a horrible scream coming from north from where you were. On instinct, you rushed towards the sound, heading around a huge tree and coming across a man who looked scared out of his mind.

Your eyes met his, and he instantly crawled over to you and held onto your hakama pants begging you to protect him from the two-headed demon that he ran into. He was sobbing and getting snot all over your pants, and it disgusted you to no end.

You gave into his pleas, advising that he stick by you for extra manpower, though you knew that he would be no help. Zenitsu was grateful for your offer and introduced himself, and gushed when you did the same, saying that your name was cute.

You two went your separate ways after the final selection, though Zenitsu claimed that he wouldn't forget the woman who saved his life.

Nezuko:

You two met on Mount Natagumo.

You were one of the backup slayers who were sent with Murata, and when the mother spider demon attacked you were separated from your group. You were just wandering the mountain terrified until you came across Tanjiro battling Rui. You witnessed the "beheading" of Rui, and seconds later you saw Nezuko's body fall to the ground.

Thinking she was human, you didn't hesitate to rush to her aid, checking her over for any injuries. When you saw her wounds stitch closed, you panicked, but Tanjiro crawled over to your side and explained the situation.

Your crow came and interrupted the moment telling you to head to the base of the mountain. Though you had to leave the siblings, the petite demon girl failed to leave your mind.

Shinobu:

You two met at the Butterfly Mansion.

You were gravely injured after a fight with a lower moon. You had to flee, and you ran into some other slayers who were in the area. Concerned, they took you in, leading your broken body to the Butterfly Mansion so that the Insect Pillar can tend to you.

In your delirious state, you were greeted by Shinobu. As she was administering medicine to you, you asked if she was an angel.

She was taken aback at first, but then her purple eyes softened and she told you that she was going to help you, before you passed out.

When you awoke, the demon slayers who helped you explained the situation, and one of then enthusiastically told you what you said to Shinobu, much to your embarrassment.

As a thank you, you brought her some soy-boiled ginger, a food she liked. You learned this from one of the caterpillars.

Mitsuri:

You two met in a ramen shop.

You were famished after helping your father with work in his woodworking business, and after a day of hard labor you went to a small Ramen shop to treat yourself to some cold noodles, a nice food for the hot day.

You walked across the pathway over to the shop, and when you opened the door you were greeted with a woman sitting in a corner surrounded by bowls.

It was surprising, but you giggled to yourself and ordered a small bowl of cold noodles for yourself. Once you got your food, you went over to the pink-haired woman and introduced yourself.

She was surprised that someone came and sat across from her, but she was ecstatic and introduced herself, gesturing for you to sit down next to her instead.

She was nervous while explaining why she ate so much, stammering over her words with an adorable blush on her face. You told her that you didn't mind - in fact, you found it very impressive.

You two talked for the rest of the afternoon, and afterwards you both left at the same time. You had to go your separate ways, but Mitsuri waved into the sunset and promised that she'd be back to visit your small village soon, much to your happiness.

Kanae:

You two met while you were training under Kyojuro.

It was after a Hashira meeting, and you were waiting by the gates of the Ubuyashiki Mansion for Kyojuro to come back out so you two could train - something you were eager to do.

The first person to walk out of the Mansion was Kanae, and for a moment you were stunned by how pretty she was.

She headed towards you, and you snapped out of your daze and introduced yourself, bowing in respect. She laughed gently and told you her name, and you two had a small conversation before Kyojuro finally showed up and whisked you away to continue your harsh training.

She waved goodbye to you as you were being dragged away, and in the heat of the moment you called out to her and promised that you'd meet her again soon. She laughed lightly and told you that she'll be waiting at the Butterfly Mansion.

Giyuu:

You two met in Yae's village.

You were actually one of Yae's good friends - you two sometimes met in your mother's restaurant and talked about this and that.

One day, however, Yae didn't show up, which made you a bit worried. You rushed outside to find a group of the villagers surrounding what looked like a man who was tied up.

Pushing past the crowd, you found Yae next to the man, looking angrier than you'd ever seen her, which clued you in on what this was about. However, you found the whole tying the man up thing a bit much, and you yelled at a man who was restraining him to let him go.

You were known for having a vicious temper - something that you were kinda feared for. Scared, the man let go of Giyuu before you went over to help untie the ropes.

Giyuu shook his head, saying that it was fine. And to your surprise, he snapped the ropes with minimal effort.

After your moment of shock, you shooed the villagers away and led Giyuu over to your mother's restaurant. Yae, not trusting Giyuu, followed after you two in a huff.

Once you were there, you sat him down and apologized for the villagers' behavior. He insisted it was okay, but you knew it wasn't and had a small quarrel with him about it. Annoyed, he left, and you were happy he was gone before your argument escalated. His monotone attitude pissed you off.

You went with Yae to the hot springs that evening to cool off.

Muichiro:

You met on a joint mission.

The demon that your squad were battling was powerful, and a Hashira needed to be called in order for success to be guaranteed.

When the Mist Hashira arrived, you tried to explain the situation to him, but he ignored you and went on to battle the demon himself.

He defeated it in a matter of seconds, and while your group was admiring his skills and commending him, you were pissed as hell at his attitude towards you.

You pushed past a group of people surrounding the pillar, and when you reached him you began to give him a piece of your mind. Again, he ignored you, walking away while his crow flew down and perched on his shoulder. The crow actually turned around and gave you a huff, and that was the last straw.

It irked you, and several slayers had to hold you back while you cussed the crow out.

Kyojuro:

You met during one of his visits to the wisteria house.

Your family owned several wisteria houses in the area, the main one being used exclusively for the Hashiras.

One day, you were cleaning up one of the spare rooms when you heard something odd. It sounded like a yell, and you dropped the folded futon you were holding and rushed to where you thought the sound came from - the dining hall.

When you got there, you were greeted with a loud "UMAI," which startled you. You let out a yelp, and the man stopped eating and turned around, surprised by the noise.

When he saw it was you, he apologized, noticing that you seemed startled. Then he pulled the empty stool next to him and invited you to sit down.

You did, mostly because he gave you the most dazzling smile. He slid you a bento, and as you two started eating, a nice conversation was sparked. You learned his name and his rank, and you were impressed with how much bento he was able to stomach.

After he paid for his meal and stay at the wisteria house, he left, promising to stop by soon to see you again. Your mother teased you after you left, saying something along the lines of, "it's about time you settled down and got married, [Name]."

Sanemi:

You two met after a Pillar meeting.

You were just starting off as a newly appointed kakushi, something that you were happy to do - wanting to assist the demon slayers as much as possible.

You used to be a demon slayer, a practitioner of Water Breathing, but you had to quit after a life-threatening injury to your leg, leaving you with a small limp for life.

One day, you were running around the Ubuyashiki Mansion doing assignments when you rounded a corner. You smashed into Sanemi, who was leaving after a one-on-one meeting with Kagaya-sama.

Annoyed, he prepared to curse you out, but he was stopped when you profusely apologized and bowed, begging for his forgiveness.

He didn't care for your pleas, instead telling you to "watch where you're fucking going," and left in a huff. His tone made you sad, and you sulked back to the Butterfly Mansion, forgetting why you were running around Kagaya's Mansion in the first place.

Obanai:

You two met during a battle with a demon.

The battle against Lower Moon Six was a little tougher than you originally thought, but at the last second, Obanai arrived and sliced off the demon's head, showing off his amazing swordsmanship skills in the process.

When you complimented him on his swordmanship, he simply answered, "Whatever." And turned around, starting to walk away.

This irritated you, because you were trying to be nice, and his tone seriously pissed you off. You sent him off with a middle finger before going off to your grandmother's house to sulk.

Tengen:

You two met in a ramen shop.

Well, actually, you met Suma in the shop. You worked as a server there part-time, and one day you noticed this blue-eyed beauty walk in and order a bowl of udon.

You instantly got to work making it for her, adding some garnishes here and there to impress her. Once you were done, you nervously handed the bowl to Suma.

Needless to say, she loved the food, claiming that you were "the best noodle chef in the world" and that she had to stop by again so she could try a different meal.

You sat down across from her and you two began laughing and talking, when you were interrupted with the doorbell jingling, signaling that a new customer had arrived.

You stood up, not noticing the handsome man walk up to Suma and gently place his hand on her shoulder. You watched them, confused until the man said something.

"You ready to go, babe?"

At this, you felt your heart shatter, and you sighed quietly before Tengen looked up and noticed you. He smiled and introduced himself, and Suma beamed and insisted that he try your udon.

He sat down, and you got right to making his food, serving it to him a few minutes later. He was impressed by your cooking skills - "flamboyant" was the exact word used, and winked at you and said he'll visit soon with his other wives.

You laughed and waved goodbye to them before you realized that Tengen had said "wives."

Gyomei:

You two met when he appointed you as his Tsuguko.

You had really admired Gyomei up to that point, having heard stories about the strongest Hashira from other low-ranking slayers.

You were rank Kinoe, and because of your high rank, Kagaya-sama agreed to your request to be trained underneath Gyomei.

Your first time meeting was sweet, and you two talked as you both walked up the mountain to his estate. Despite being blind, he knew his way around very well, which taught you early not to underestimate him.

However, your time was cut short when your crow arrived and informed you about a urgent mission. You were dismayed to find out that it was so far away, and you knew that it would be weeks until you two would be able to meet again and start your training.

Gyomei, bless his heart, was so understanding of the situation and wished you good luck on your mission.

Demons:

Daki:

You two met in Yoshiwara.

You were a new recruit in the Kyogoku House - having being sold by your former master.

You were grateful that he let you go, because he was cruel, but you were sold from one brothel to the other. On the bright side, the owner of the house was nicer, though she was still extremely strict - you were a servant, after all.

One evening, you were doing an abundance of chores that the Mistress had given you, when you felt a cold shiver go down your spine.

You heard a cold voice behind you: "And who might you be?"

You dropped the rag you were using to wipe the floor, and audibly gulped. You sat up and turned around, meeting the cold eyes of the House's Oiran Warabihime.

You instantly stood up, stammering to the woman about how you were just cleaning one of the rooms, but she didn't care as she held up her hand, stopping you mid-sentence.

You bit your tongue as she spoke, "I didn't ask. An ugly thing like you shouldn't speak to me so brazenly. Know your place."

Afterwards, the oiran left (after the owner's husband found her and pleaded with you to not get on the oiran's nerves).

You just stood there, watching them leave, your brain in shambles as you were processing what just happened.

Gyutaro:

You two met in Yoshiwara.

You were a demoness, helping Daki out with her duties as Oiran - per her request, you weren't going to decline because she was uppermoon 6, and therefore your superior.

You were helping Daki with doing her hair one evening, and you turned away for one second to grab a hairpin. You heard some shuffling behind you, and when you turned back around you were surprised to see another demon besides Daki.

Daki enthusiastically introduced him as her brother, and you smiled at him and introduced yourself. All he did was give a small grunt and turn away from you, and you were a bit disappointed at his lack of acknowledging you.

Nevertheless, you finished with Daki's hair and she left, promising to be back in an hour. You used this chance to force conversation with Gyutaro, and though he was a bit hesitant at first (because of your beauty) but soon opened up a small amount and talked with him.

When his sister returned, she noticed that her brother was a bit more comfortable and teased him about it after you bowed and left.

Hantengu (Clones):

You met them while you were a lesser demon wandering around the Infinity Fortress.

You heard a bit of a commotion coming from one of the many rooms, and you leaped across a pathway to where the sound was coming from.

You opened the soji door and was instantly greeted with a ball of feathers. You cursed, and on instinct you took the ball and threw it back at the perpetrator, "Watch where you throw that fucking thing, shithead!"

That was before you realized that you threw the feather ball at Urogi, one of uppermoon four's demonic emotions. Upon seeing the kanji in his eye, you immediately apologized and bowed.

But Urogi laughed, throwing the ball back at your face while you were still kneeling, which pissed you off because you couldn't just throw it back.

"Well, well..." A new voice interjected, along with a new aura, causing you to turn your head to the right.

Your nose brushed up against the face of a new demon, one with very green eyes and a sly smile. He licked his lips before talking again, "Prey? You two having fun without me?"

You scooted away from him as Urogi landed behind you - causing you to run into his legs. You yelped, standing up and backing away towards the door.

Karaku pouted playfully at this, "Leaving so soon?"

Yes. Yes you were leaving. But as you inched closer to the door, your back brushed up against a new demon - Sekido. You internally groaned as he kept you pinned where you were with his glare, asking what the hell a lesser demon like you were doing with upper ranks.

You tried to defend yourself, but you gave up when Karaku slinked his arm around your shoulder and told Sekido that you were just "having fun" with them.

Annoyed, you flipped him off, telling him to suck a dick. He laughed at your braveness at talking to an upper rank like that, and you just decided to leave before you did something that you regretted.

Akaza:

You two met in your small village.

You ran a bakery with your best friend, but today you were working alone. After serving a ton of customers, you decided to clean up and close up shop early. You wanted to head back home to rest your aching muscles.

When you locked the door, the air was frigid, blowing through your (h/c) locks. You shivered, pulling up your scarf to cover your mouth.

While you were walking on the rocky road to your estate, you felt a cold shiver go down your spine. You stopped, breathing shakily as you looked around, not knowing exactly what you were searching for.

At last, you met a pair of amber eyes watching you from the branches of a nearby tall tree. It creeped you out, so you sped up your walk home, hoping that the eyes wouldn't follow you.

Douma:

You two met while you were on a mission.

More specifically, you were heading home after saving a village from a demon attack. You knew that there was a wisteria house south of the village, so you headed in that direction.

Soon, the sun started to set, and you got worried because you'd left hours ago and should have been at the wisteria house by now. But despite your worries, you kept walking.

You were a fairly new demon slayer, so you didn't quite get your sense of direction just yet. After another hour, you realizes that you were lost in the middle of the woods.

The sky was pitch black, you could barely see, which added to your anxiousness. You just walked in a straight line, the hand on the hilt of your sword the entire time, until you saw a small golden light in the distance.

Thinking that it was the wisteria house, you smiled and rushed towards the light. But as you got closer, you realized that the light led to a huge structure was definitely NOT the wisteria house.

It had a huge fence gate, but you didn't hesitate to scale the fence and sneak into the courtyard. You went to the side of the building, where you snuck in through a window.

Lo and behold, you stumbled upon a meeting with Douma and his followers. You stumbled when realizing that there were people in the room, and you bowed and apologized, saying that you'd leave right away.

But the man stood up and offered you to stay for the night, and you couldn't help but be lured in by his rainbow irises. So you said yes, and the next morning you packed up and left.

Before you did, Douma smiled and properly introduced himself and gave you a small satchel of money, wishing you safe travels. And as you headed past the gates, his false smile burned in your mind.

Kokushibo:

You met him on the way to the hot springs for the evening.

After a rough day helping your father sell coal, you just wanted an evening alone at the hot springs to relax your mind and body.

You'd memorized the way due to you going there for years, and you were bringing some snacks and a book with you to really get into the relaxing aspect.

On the way there, you heard a twig snap. Being a jumpy person, you yelped and ran behind a tree, peeking out into the darkness.

Your eyes widened when you saw a very tall man making his way through the woods. You gasped, a little too loudly, and the man stopped and turned your way.

He stared directly at you, and you met his eyes - all six of them, to be exact. The sight of his unblinking, cold yellow irises made you get up and run back to your house.

You stayed holed up in your room for the rest of the night.

Muzan:

You formerly met him when you became uppermoon 5.

You'd been turned into a demon by Douma, who found you in the woods half-dead from a previous demon attack. He pitied you and decided to turn you instead of eating you.

Despite your weak appearance, you quickly rose to becoming a powerful demon, eventually being recognized by Muzan himself.

He summoned you to the Infinity Fortress one evening, and after giving you an ample amount of his blood you became uppermoon 5.

However, deep in your mind, there was something about the handsome demon king that you liked, perhaps it was his deep voice. You shoved that thought down, because you knew that you couldn't harbor feelings in that way for him - you were under his command.

No matter how hard you tried, you couldn't push down those bubbly feelings, even after you were sent away on the reoccurring mission of finding that damned flower.
