"You don't have to be so mean to him you know. He's harmless." Kira mumbled.
Katsuki rolled his eyes but wrapped his arms around her. "Do we have to keep talking about this? This is the first time I've seen you in person for weeks... And it's his fault. I don't want to think about him."
"Fine." Kira sighed, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. "I missed you." She whispered, snuggling into his neck.
He pulled her with him as he sat down. Arms still wrapped around her as he held her on his lap. "Yeah... I fucking missed you to..." He sighed, holding her tightly. "I felt like I was dying... Without you... when I didn't know where you were."
"I'm here now. I'm safe." Kira told him, leaning away from his embrace only to kiss his forehead. "You don't have to worry anymore." She whispered.
Bakugou held her hands and kissed her softly. For the first time since they were in the hospital together. He pulled back and hugged her again. "It was all my fault... I chased her away because I was acting like a moron..."
"It's not your fault Katsuki. It never was." Kira shook her head, which he kept cradled in his shoulder. "It just... It doesn't matter. How it happened doesn't matter anymore, we can't go back and fix it. We can only go forward."
Bakugou mumbled something that sounded like a reluctant agreement. His arms rubbing her back in a comforting rhythm. Kira breathed in and out softly as she rested against him.
She really had missed it. Missed him.
She let him hold her, eyes closed and lips turned up in a smile. She felt like a weight was lifted off of her. She was lighter now, she felt safe with him holding her.
"I love you..." Kira whispered. How many times had she said that? She was slowly losing count.
"I love you too... Idiot." He grumbled.
"Don't ruin the moment." Kira whined with a small laugh. "Dumbass."
"Hey! That's worse!" Bakugou argued. Holding her waist as she leaned away. He looked up at her with a smile, happy that she was finally back with him. Back at UA, where they both belonged.
His hands were warm against the fabric of her tank top. Holding her waist, over the hidden scar of her gunshot wound. He seemed to remember this, relaxing his grip.
"Sorry, does it still..." He looked down. "I hope the gunshot wound is healed, she hasn't been acting like she's in pain... God she's so much smaller than she had been before all this shit. She still hasn't gained back half of what she lost." He thought, worry creasing his brow.
"No I'm fine. It's just a scar now, you don't have to worry." Kira said with a smile. "What about you? You were impaled right?"
He scoffed and rolled his eyes. "It was no big deal. Nothing that small can kill me."
"Right. No one as insignificant as Toumura Shigaraki could ever kill the Great- Explosion-Murder-Lord-Dynamite." Kira laughed.
"It's murder GOD Dynamite." Bakugou corrected. "Get it right Athena."
"Sorry, Great-Explosion-Murder- GOD-Dynamite." She said with an eyeroll. "That's a mouthful. How about we just call you Dynamite?"
"That's not nearly as fucking scary. It should be intimidating and hard to say." Bakugou said with a smile.
"What about G-E-M-G-D?" She suggested.
"That's just dumb." He said with a frown. "My name is Great-Explosion-Murder
-God-Dynamite. Get over it."
"Alright, alright." Kira gave up. "Fine." She giggled. "I love you Great-Explosion-Murder- God-Dynamite."
"God you're so corny." Bakugou groaned in annoyance, but Kira could see his smile. "I love you Athena." He whispered, kissing her again.
Kira gripped his shirt as she kissed him back. He gently held her waist with one hand and cupped the back of her head with his other. Holding her carefully, like she was precious. His hand played with the hem of her tank top, but he didn't lift it up yet. Almost teasing her with the gentle brushing of his hands.
It wasn't like their first kiss. Kira could tell Bakugou was trying not to go overboard like they had done originally. Slowing down. Their first kiss had been passionate and desperate. Both had been excited to finally have one another, finally know their feelings were reciprocated.
But it also ended in disaster.
Now it was slow and careful, like they had all the time in the world...
But did they?
All for one was on the loose along with countless high-profile villains. Shigaraki was estimated to complete his transformation in about two days. One of their last hopes as an American hero known as Star and Stripe. An old friend of Her uncle's.
She broke the kiss and hugged him tightly. Burying her face in his neck. She took in the feeling of his warm arms, the smell of burnt caramel that came off of him strongly.
"Promise me everything is going to be alright." Kira whispered, holding tightly. "Promise me we're all going to be okay."
"I promise Kira." Bakugou whispered. Even though they both knew he had no way to guarantee any of that. Their safety. The safety of their loved ones. Of their class. It was impossible to promise they're all going to be okay.
But she needed to hear it. She had too. From him. Even if it wasn't his promise to make.
"Nothings going to happen to us... I promise." Bakugou whispered again. He leaned back, laying down on the bed and pulling her with him. "I'm not gonna lose you again. It won't happen."
She layed on his chest as he pulled a blanket over them. Wrapping his arms back around her after he was done.
"Go to sleep. You need rest alright?" Bakugou whispered, staring up at the ceiling. Her own worries rubbing off on him. No one truly knew what the future held for any of them.
Serial killing villains were running around the streets. The worse bad guy in history was out there somewhere. He was looking for Midoriya. Who was here in campus. Bakugou didn't agree with the idea of him running around the streets to keep them safe, but he also had to acknowledge that anyone close to Deku was going to be put in danger.
And Kira...
He knew what All for one had told all Might. Kira had found out and shared it with him. He didn't think of it much until the man escaped.
"I'll want her quirk when I get out."
Bakugou couldn't let that happen. He couldn't let him get his hands on her. He refused-
"I can't sleep while you're thinking like that." Kira mumbled. "Cut it out."
"Hey you started it!" Bakugou grumbled back. "Putting all do that shit in my head. What else am I supposed to think about?"
"Anything else." Kira mumbled, she has her eyes open, her pointer finger lazily tracing circles on his chest.
"What about... Us?" He asked. She paused.
"What does that mean?" Kira asked, glancing up.
"Well... Shitty hair, big lips, tape face and creepy chick all found out about us..." Bakugou said with a frown.
Kira scoffed. "Creepy chick?" She asked.
"She's invisible. It's creepy." Bakugou rolled his eyes. "That's not important. What.. what do you think? I don't like everyone being in my business but..."
"It's always been your choice Katsuki." Kira yawned. "I never cared either way. If you want to keep going without telling anyone that's your decision. As long as I have you in fine."
"Really?" Bakugou asked, rubbing her back.
"Mhm." She closed her eyes.
"Right..." He swallowed. "Is now really a good time to talk about romance? I mean we're in the middle of a war..." He whispered. "Not exactly appropriate to just tell our classmates were dating right now is it? Not with everything else going on."
Kira smiled and hugged him tighter. "I think that's the first time you've thought it." She whispered.
"Thought what?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.
"That we're dating." Kira said softly.
"I haven't?" Bakugou asked with a frown.
"Not really no, but I like it." Kira said with another yawn. "Keep thinking about that."
"Alright. I will. Just go to sleep okay?" Bakugou said with a small smile.
"Okay... Love you."
"...I love you too."
