83: 𝐼'𝑚 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑒~
Kira jumped and landed next to Rei in the bushes surrounding the building. Unfortunately the whole hospital was surrounded by a wall too tall for Kira to get over. There were also no trees or anything that she could use to climb.
"Alright let's go around. We're not in the clear yet but I have a car waiting at the front entrance." Kira told Rei in a hushed voice. Just in case.
"I've never done anything like this in my life. Though I must say it's kind of... A rush. Being so rebellious." Rei thought, nodding at Kira.
Kira smirked slightly when she heard the woman think that. Knowing she was still alright with this. Despite the danger.
Kira was starting to really like Mrs Rei. Which just motivated her to get her out and safe as soon as possible.
She lead the woman around the building. Gun nestled in her hand. She wasn't sure how much ammunition it had left, she just had to use it sparingly.
The gate was in sight now. Still open since it was the middle of the day. A few patients walked around with different nurses, enjoying the sunshine. The people outside didn't seem to know about Rei's escape yet.
"Mrs Todoroki? Who are you playing with?" Kira turned in shock, just to see another patient who crouched down next to them. Looking around like she hiding from someone. "What game are we playing?"
The patient was young. She had big blue eyes and brown hair with a few small bald spots. Which Kira realized was probably from her pulling it out herself.
"Lucy..." Rei whispered. "The poor dear. She's always so confused... But I can't put her in danger."
"Is it hide and sneak. You and your lanky friend are hiding?" Lucy asked, pointing at Kira. Who ignored being referred too as "lanky"
"Yes! You should go hide too. Please Lucy." Rei whispered. "Hide."
A huge smile grew on the patient's face. "Yes okay! I love games!" She said before running completely barefoot into a random bush.
"What about the other patients? Will they be safe?" Rei asked Kira. Who chewed the skin on her bottom lip nervously.
"I don't know for sure. But i think they will be if we just stay away from them, keep the attention away. Once we get out of here I'll go to the police station and fill them in on everything. They'll send officers in and interrogate staff to make sure they're all clean. We just have to get out." Kira explained. So far that was her plan, now she just needed a plan to get OUT.
The man had mentioned others. But were they nearby? On their way now?
Kira didn't know. But she assumed they didn't have much time.
"Let's go." She whispered. She didn't have many options. There weren't enough places to hide in while walking. Everything was exposed which might be purposeful.
Even while in jail all for one had his claws everywhere. He was so deep in this place that someone was able to freely walk around with a Firearm. There was no way for them to sneak it in, which means most of the staff turned a blind eye to it.
Kira couldn't trust anyone here but Rei. Even the patients might be placed here to keep an eye on things.
Kira pulled Rei towards the gate, making a beeline towards the open gate. As they got close the ground rumbled slightly, Kira turned to see the source. An extra building by the gate, just a small shed that looked like maybe it held garden tools or something insignificant. It was completely forgettable.
The wall burst open and put crawled something Kira had only seen from afar of in pictures. A creature slightly taller than an average human. It was thin and somewhat lanky but Kira could see it's tight unnatural muscles under its dark blue skin. It had huge bugged eyes that were all white except a tiny speck of a pupil. A long tounge hanging out of it's toothy mouth.
A Nomu.
They had a damn Nomu?! Kira had expected some resistance but this?! A Nomu just chilling in a shed at a mental hospital? No way.
"GO GO GO!!!" Kira yelled. She heard the screams of both nurses and patients alike as everyone scattered. Finally aware of what was taking place.
Kira ran, making it to the gate. She fired a shot, the bullet piercing one bulging eye and popping it completely. Causing the creature to shriek and then bound after them on all fours.
Kira had heard about the fight at the Dr's hospital and after. The high-end Nomus that were there. If Kira had to guess she would say this one WASN'T a high end. Which meant it might be commanded by someone else.
The people that the other villain sent out a warning to. But Kira didn't know if they had to be close by or not to control the creature.
Not that it mattered.
Kira and Rei ran, Kira bolted to the car in sight, still parked on the side of the road. Kira could already hear the pop music playing on the inside, even from a good distance. Hawks was blasting music and because of that likely didn't hear the screaming and gunshots inside.
She yanked open the door and let Rei into the back seat before jumping in after her.
"I'm working late~ Cus I'm a hero~ Hey!" Hawks turned with a frown when Kira interrupted his ballad.
"GO GO GO!!!!" Kira yelled, hitting the back of his seat. Frantically.
"What- wait whose- AH FUCK IS THAT A NOMU!?!?!" Hawks screamed throwing the car into drive and shoved his foot against the gas. Booking it as he saw the nomu crawl out of the walls.
"GO TO A POLICE STATION OR HERO AGENCY OR SOMETHING!!!" Kira screamed at him.
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!?!" Hawks screamed at her. All while his music was still playing in the background.
Rei quietly buckled herself up next to Kira. Then buckled her up as well while she was distracted yelling at Hawks.
He rounded a corner going at least twice the speed limit. Eyes quickly glancing between the road and the Nomu pursuing them. It was a good thing the roads were mostly clear nowadays. With the whole All for one war going on. Because Hawks would have definitely wrecked already if there were other cars around them.
"Long story!! Just go!"
"I NEED THE GPS!!!" Hawks yelled. "I don't know where to go!!!"
"ANYWHERE!!! YOURE A PRO!!! GO TO AN AGENCY!!!" Kira yelled, holding onto the ceiling of the car.
"IM NOT USED TOO ROADS!!!! I FLY EVERYWHERE!!!" Hawks screamed back, panicking.
"TAKE A RIGHT!!" Kira yelled. Giving him directions. She looked in the review mirror, the Nomu was farther in the distance. Then it just stopped in the middle of the road. Freezing.
Kira took in a shaky breath and there was silence. Minus the music of course.
"𝑆𝑎𝑦 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑐𝑎𝑛'𝑡 𝑠𝑙𝑒𝑒𝑝, 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 𝑖 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤. 𝑇ℎ𝑎𝑡'𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑚𝑒 𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑜~"
Hawks reached over and slowly turned down the volume until they were in actual silence. He glanced in the mirror, from Kira too Rei. He cleared his throat.
"Nice to meet you ma'am... I'm Hawks." He said, still going above the speed limit. But now he was significantly more in control.
"I'm Rei Todoroki." Rei said with a small smile.
The heroes eyes widened. He turned and looked at Kira. "YOU KIDNAPPED ENDEAVOR'S WIFE?!?"
