Kirishima grit his teeth.
Momo put a hand to the piece in her ear. "And... What about Kokoa? Any sign of her?"
The class hung on to her next word as she communicated with the other heroes for them. The battle had just officially ended, pros had come to take the wounded and... The dead up the long trail through the woods towards the only road.
They didn't have a closer place for vehicles to come through.
The pros tried to tell the remaining students to come as well and seek rest and medical treatment. But they refused.
"Right... Yes sir... Thank you." Momo whispered as she removed her hand. "Nothing yet..." She whispered.
"How could there be nothing?!" Monoma asked in frustration.
"They said they were able to find several different tracks leading into the woods. It's possible one belonged to her and she ran during the fighting. They're following all of them, hoping to catch up to her and any villains." Momo sighed.
"Just like as planned we need to stay here in case there are any villains trying to run this way." Kendo told the group.
"We should spread out, comb the woods." Shoji said, looking around. "Jirou? Do you hear anything?"
"Don't know, my quirk is worn out from using it all day. There is some movement between here and there but I can't tell if it's pros, villains, Kira or even animals." Jirou said with a sigh.
Kirishima crossed his arms. He was at the edge of the group. Positioned with his face towards the sun. Catching what heat it had left to give. "Shoji's right. We need to walk towards the pros. Close the distance between us and them."
"What if..." Hagakure whispered. "What if she's not here at all?"
"Don't say that..." Ojirou mumbled. "She has to be."
"What if they were wrong? O-or maybe they moved her last minute? What if she was on the back of that monster with those villains? And we didn't even see her?" Hagakure said, rubbing her eyes.
"No there's no way-"
Any denial of her claims were cut off completely by a desperate yell from the woods.
"KIRISHIMA!!!"
He bolted, turning and running before anyone could think. The others ran after them. They knew that voice, there was only one person it could have been. Only one person....
"KIRA!!!" Kirishima yelled, tearing through the woods towards the voice. He saw her, hand braced against a tree.
She looked... Horrible.
Kira swayed and then started to tip forward. Kirishima ran as she did, jumping into his knees and catching her. Wrapping hair arms around her. "Holy shit Kira... It's you." He whispered. Tears in his eyes.
Kira sobbed. Gripping his shirt with her good hand. Her head tucking into the crook of his neck as she sobbed. "Kiri..." She whispered.
"Kira!" Sero yelled, running after them. Mina came too.
"Are you okay? Well I mean- where are you hurt?" Kirishima asked trying to pull back.
"S-shot..." Kira whispered. "I was shot."
"MOMO!!!" Sero yelled, looking up. "Call for pros! And we need medical supplies now!"
"Of course!" Momo said, putting the device against her ear while creating bandages.
Kirishima held Kira carefully, turning her so the others could help. She leaned her head on his shoulder.
He looked at the bandages over one of her eyes, the makeshift cast on her arm. She was covered in bruises and scratches. Not to mention the bleeding gunshot wound. But there was also her face, her body.
Even Kirishima could see the significant weight loss. She was thin, thinner than he had ever seen her. Her cheeks seemed to be more hollow, the skin around her visible eye was dark and almost sunken in.
"It's gonna be okay Kira!" Kirishima whispered. "We've got you! We've all got you now... You're safe..."
Kira was taking a few deeps breaths. Looking up at the sky with tears rolling down her face. "Sun...set..." She whispered softly.
"What-" Kirishima looked over at her to ask what she meant. But her eyes were closed, she had passed out. With the ghost of a smile on her face.
But she looked pale.
"She's lost a lot of blood." Momo said, kneeling over them. Kirishima slowly lowered her to the ground, so Momo could access her wounds better.
"Can we get her to the hospital in time?" Kirishima asked Momo who looked behind her shoulder at the trail.
"I... I don't know. We could put her on Shoji's back but even then the road is a long distance away. Even if he was running. And then there's the ambulance ride to the nearest hospital without any blood equiped..." Momo mumbled, putting her hand to her mouth.
"We should wrap her up and stop the bleeding. Start to carry her towards the ambulance while keeping an eye on her condition. If it gets worse..." Kendo suggested but couldn't really think of what to do if it got worse.
"We'd have to attempt an emergency blood transfusion." Momo said, looking at the other girl.
"Is that safe?" Jirou asked with wide eyes.
"Safer than her bleeding out." Kirishima mumbled.
"We'll first attempt to get her to the professionals. That's only a last resort." Momo stood up. "Besides we don't know her blood type."
"She's A negative." Jirou said with a frown.
They all turned to look at her in surprise. Not understanding how Jirou knew that off the top of her head.
"What? We took a personality quiz together one time." She shrugged. "I just remembered."
"Alright We-"
"I'm type O negative." Monoma volunteered. "Means our blood is compatible. My types pretty rare so I donate a lot."
"Right. Thanks guys, let's get her on Shoji and try to make it to the road. If need be the paramedics can Use Monoma's blood as a transfusion." Momo nodded and Shoji started to pick the unconscious Kira up. Who made no noise in reply. Kirishima helped as well.
"Guys she's burning up. Feels like a high fever." Kirishima noted, touching her head.
"She might have an infection." Momo mumbled. Looking at the bandages. "These look fairly new so she's been at least wrapped up often. But there is some swelling around her eyes."
"Isn't that bad?" Sero asked nervously.
"...yes." Momo said after a moment of hesitation. "We need to go now."

They made it to the road. Kira's bleeding had slowed and she was somewhat stable. The paramedics took her from Shoji and put her on a gurney. Ready to load her up into the ambulance.
But Momo had been right. She needed a blood transfusion.
They heard the hero students out as they hooked Kira up to an IV. And decided the best course of action would be to take Monoma with them on the ambulance and let him donate some of his blood to Kira.
Her classmates watched as the doors shut and she was rushed away. Before turning to each other and then looking at what was left of the mansion far into the distance...
Kira Kokoa had walked almost two miles with a gunshot wound and a dangerously high fever.
All to see her sunset.
