3: 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑔𝑖𝑟𝑙𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔!
"We're settling this. Right here, right now."
Deku laughed nervously and took several steps back. Bakugou stood across from him, looking very serious. He didn't even seem mad, his expressions were unreadable. Deku had known him for years, but he had never done anything like this.
"You really wanna do this?" He asked, almost whimpering. Deku didn't understand, he hadn't even done anything that day. That week. Was he mad about the licencing exam? Mad that Deku passed and he didn't?
"This doesn't make sense... He's not normally like this. I was excited when he asked to see me alone... But I wasn't really expecting a fight."
"If you don't wanna get hurt punch back." Bakugou said, stretching his arms and back. Midoriya didn't have time to think about how attractive it was to watch Bakugou move his body like that. Flexing his trained muscles and cracking his joints.
"Oh yeah... You switched to using kicks more these days. Didn't you?"
"Come on! Stop!" Midoriya said. He didn't want to fight, or to get in trouble with Aizawa. He was starting to think meeting Bakugou in the middle of the night wasn't such a great idea. "This isn't smart-"
Bakugou ignored his pleas and set off strong explosions. Propelling his body towards Deku's with extreme speed. He swung his right hand, Deku dodged barely. An explosion set off right where he had been two seconds ago.
Bakugou blasted up, meeting him in the air. Landing two explosions. They fell to the ground. Midoriya's skin burned from his explosions, but he wasn't fighting back yet. Just trying his best to avoid Bakugou's attacks.
Bakugou set off an explosion and Midoriya kicked his hands back. He ran back two steps and Bakugou got ready to attack again. But he lost his footing, something was off. Bakugou was upset, normally the only emotion he used while fighting was anger
But today he seemed to be distracted by an array of different emotions. He was distraught.
He fell backwards. Landing a few feet away from Deku. Midoriya remembered the time Bakugou had fallen off the log when they were kids, why did this feel so similar?
"Hey are you okay?" Midoriya asked, putting his hand out. Trying to help.
"FIGHT DAMN IT!!" Bakugou yelled smacking his hand away. "YOU'VE NEVER HELD BACK BEFORE! SO WHY NOW HUH?? THERE'S NO ONE ELSE HERE, STOP FUCKING FAKING!!" He screamed at Midoriya. Who took a step back. But Bakugou didn't move to attack him, he was standing and panting.
"Why??" Bakugou asked. "It's not FAIR!!" He yelled. There was anger boiling in his red eyes. Strong and beautiful. "You've always had EVERYTHING!!! Why did you have to become strong? Why did someone as horrible as you get acknowledged by All Might?? What am I doing wrong?!?"
"Kacchan-"
"MY WHOLE LIFE I'VE TRIED TO BE STRONG!! My whole life!!! I dedicated my life to following in All Might's footsteps, it was all I had!! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND??? It was the only thing you couldn't take away from me!! My drive! My dreams! My idol! So why?? WHY DID HE CHOSE YOU?!? And I... Why was I the one who ended All Might?!"
Midoriya stared at him. 'Ended All Might?' did Bakugou actually believe that? This whole time he's been carrying around this guilt.
"I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!!! IT'S LIKE IT'S PLAYING ON LOOP, SO WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!"
"Kacchan!" Midoriya said, running towards him. He wanted to help, to make him feel better. For years Midoriya had enjoyed seeing Bakugou upset. Because he wanted Bakugou to understand pain, his pain. But this was too much. Bakugou was breaking down infront of him and Midoriya felt nothing but pain for him. He wanted him to feel better, not worse.
A swift punch in his face told him that Bakugou didn't want his comfort. "SHUT UP!!" Bakugou screamed. "WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS DOING THIS SHIT HUH?? ACTING LIKE YOU CARE ABOUT ME. YOUVE DONE NOTHING BUT HURT ME!!!" He wasn't done screaming at him yet. "BUT YOU WON'T EVEN FIGHT ME!!! You wanted me to be your enemy right?! Then fucking act like it!!"
"I never wanted to be your enemy!!" Midoriya yelled back. "I wanted you to understand me!!" He was crying. They were both crying. Confused, sobbing messes.
"WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!" Bakugou yelled at him, blasted forward. Explosions going off as he tried to restart the fight.
Midoriya didn't dodge, he let Bakugou hit him. He was thrown backwards into a wall.
"FIGHT ME BITCH!!!"
"I don't want to fight!!" Midoriya screamed back.
"WHY NOT?! You want me to understand you?!?! But you're not clear about anything!! Ever since that one stupid day you've been two different people at once!!" Bakugou said, panting as he stared down at Midoriya. "It's fucking annoying."
Midoriya panted and looked up at the other boy. He wanted to scream back, to tell him he loved him. That's why he didn't want to fight.
But that didn't go so well last time.
"I'M SORRY!! But you hurt me Kacchan!!" Deku said, standing back up. "I KNOW IT'S NOT RIGHT! BUT I WANTED YOU TO UNDERSTAND HOW IT FELT!!"
"I said I was sorry damn it!!! WHY COULDN'T YOU ACT LIKE A NORMAL PERSON AND JUST ACCEPT AN APOLOGY?!" Bakugou asked. Now they were just screaming at each other. "HOW CAN YOU LIVE WITH YOURSELF AFTER THAT?! HUH?!"
"I'M SORRY OKAY?!" Deku said. "I'm... I'm sorry. You said I'm a horrible person and you're right. You think I like myself?! I CAN'T STAND MYSELF!!! I tried to chase after the things that made me happy in the moment but they never lasted. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO I AM ANYMORE!!! You want to know why All Might chose me?! Then you'll have to ask him. BECAUSE I DON'T EVEN KNOW, I ASK MYSELF EVERYDAY. I'm a horrible person. I want to feel worthy of this, but the only way I can is to put other people down."
Deku screamed while sobbing. "I Get... I GET HAPPY WHEN HE CHOOSES ME OVER KIRA. It's awful and I know it. I JUST WANT SOMETHING TO FEEL REAL!!! I don't think anyone actually likes me. I don't think you'll ever forgive me for what I did to you. I JUST WANTED YOU TO LIKE ME BACK!!!"
"SO YOU TORTURED ME?!" Bakugou yelled, running at Midoriya. Midoriya ran at him too and started to fight. Fueled by his emotions and frustrations.
He wanted to win. He wanted to be like Kacchan, like All Might.
He wanted to be worthy of this power he was given. If he could beat Kacchan maybe he would feel that way.
"YOU'RE AMAZING KACCHAN!!!" Midoriya screamed as Bakugou aimed an explosion at him. "YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE I HAD, THE ONLY THING THAT MADE ME HAPPY!!! I DIDN'T WANT TO SHARE!!"
"I'M NOT A FUCKING TOY!!!" Bakugou yelled back. "YOU CAN'T JUST DO THAT TO A PERSON!!!"
They continued to scream. Both fighting and suddenly giving it their all. Midoriya's anger heated his quirk. Like a fire under boiling water. Suddenly he felt stronger, able to hold 8% of his quirk.
"SMASH!!"
"DIE!!!"
The two screamed out their individual catchphrases. Both trying to out do the other. For once they viewed the other as a perfect equal. Both balancing the scale of power.
Clashing together in bright red and green lights. Until one got the upper hand.
Bakugou sent the two crashing down he pinned an exhausted Midoriya under his grip and panted. "That's it... We're done. I win." Bakugou whispered.
Midoriya sat completely still underneath him, suddenly aware of their position. He wanted to kiss Kacchan, but he didn't think that would go over very well.
"I'm glad we... Talked about things?" He whispered back.

"You knew about this didn't you?" Aizawa asked Kira as they waited for All Might to get back. "You should be in just as much trouble for not reporting it."
"I don't know, Can you prove it?" Kira asked, him. Raising an eyebrow.
"No. But I know you did." Aizawa glared at her.
"I'm a mind-reader Aizawa... Not a snitch. Besides, they needed this. It's probably better for them than just keeping it all pent up. They'll emerge new people."
"Can't they just talk it out?" Aizawa grumbled.
"Nah, you know them. They need to punch things, like men." Kira said, punching her own palm.
Aizawa scoffed but didn't reply. "I don't need to punch things..."
Soon All Might returned with both the boys behind him. He was smiling, so was Midoriya. Bakugou wasn't but Kira could tell he had a huge weight lifted from his shoulders. He was able to breathe again, he hadn't noticed it. But ever since the camp Attack he felt like he had something caught in his throat.
Now his mind was clear.
A/n: So um... Yeah that was the Baku-deku fight.
Tbh I don't feel like this should have happened yet, like it was too soon. But I wanted to keep when it happened somewhat cannon. Obviously I had to change what they were saying though because...
