Kira had been in the dark. She wasn't conscious, she didn't know what was going on but she was... Aware. Aware that time was passing slowly.

She couldn't hear or see but there was a part of her that... Knew when someone she loved was nearby.

Like sitting in the dark, with a blindfold on. Drifting in and out of sleep while only feeling... Emotion. Like a long dream, filled with highs and lows.

She didn't think... She just... Felt. Felt sadness and grief. Pain and worry. Contentment and happiness. Success and victory.

She felt like she was floating in an ocean. Time was weird, she knew it was passing but she didn't feel how long it had been. She understood the length but the moment her eyes opened... It felt like a dream that had passed in a single night.

She didn't open them immediately. Consciousness slowly started to creep in. She realized where she was. That she wasn't alone. But she couldn't bring herself to open her eyes yet.

She felt someone touch her. She felt him touch her. She wanted to touch him back, to hold him. All she could muster was the slightest squeeze of her hand.

She was rewarded with excitement.

Then sleep.

Not long after she took in a long, slow breath. This time, she felt it. The air entering her lungs, burning her sore throat.

Her eyes slowly peeled themselves open. Being exposed to light for the first time in a while. Even though it was dim it felt blinding. Her head aches but she ignored it.

Her fingers twitched, her body felt stiff and achy. Heavy, like a rock that had been sealed underground for a million years. Like a door that hadn't been opened, crusted over with dust, rust and spiderwebs.

Worst of all she became keenly aware of everything connected to her body. Tubes and monitors covering every inch of her. The weight of it all completely overwhelmed her.

But she could barely move. Especially not her legs. She barely felt them at all. Other than a numb and tingly sensation. Like they had fallen asleep.

Kira's eyes glanced around frantically. Taking in quick breaths. The room was practically empty. There was a bed beside her, she didn't have to look to know there was a person on it. She could feel their brain activity.

She felt around with her hand, feeling nothing but fabric underneath her fingers. She couldn't sit up, not with all this equipment.

She could hear her own heart monitor quicken. She took a few more deep breaths, noticing her own panic. Surely a doctor was going to be alerted about the changes in her activity right? She closed her eyes and tried to calm down just a little, listening for anyone close by.

Just then the door opened. Kira moved her head as much as she could to see it. But it was positioned out of her line of sight.

Her uncle came in. It took him less than a second to notice her, eyes open and everything.

"Kira!" He cried out, rushing over. He immediately pressed a button to call for a nurse and sat beside her. "She's awake! Her eyes are open and she's awake! Please tell me this isn't a dream or a hallucination or something. Please be okay."

After that everything was a blur of activity. Nurses and doctors rushed in, astonished that Kira was suddenly conscious again.

They ran tests and did a full check up. Asking her questions to check hero comprehension skills and memory.

"Tell me what you remember."

She thought awhile. "You mean the fights?" She asked. "Against Shigaraki and One for all?"

"Yes. Do you remember anything from them?" The doctor asked. Checking her blood pressure.

"I know what happened but... It was all a blur... Especially the last one. With Shigaraki it just... Happened so fast." She admitted.

"Okay, can you tell me why you tried to fly off afterwards?" The questions weren't pointed or anything. Just something to keep Kira talking and to help her remember and understand her situation.

"...I took one for all... But... I started to hear his voice in my head, I could feel him and... I didn't want him to take control of me." She whispered. "I didn't want to put my friends in danger."

"That's why?" All Might asked. He was holding her hand. He hadn't let go since she woke up.

She nodded. "Yeah... When it took it I also took his consciousness. So I got as far as I could and... Got rid of it."

"You almost died. We were all really worried Kira. We're so glad you're alright." He whispered. Tears in his eyes.

"...where's Bakugou?" She asked.

He smiled lightly. "He's been with you almost every minute since you were both admitted. But he's at the UA graduation right now. Aizawa dragged him away and made him go. I'll message him."

"How is he?...Is he hurt?" She asked in worry." Last she saw he had a gaping wound in his chest and a shattered arm. She couldn't get the image out of her mind.

"He's doing wonderfully. He's healed up, they're a little worried that he's at risk for heart problems now but after taking it easy for awhile he should be able to do everything he used to." All Might explained.

Kira smiled lightly. "That's good... I was so worried... I thought..."

"Everyone's okay Kira. We're all safe and alive... Thanks to you."

Kira shook her head. "It wasn't just me. Everyone was out there fighting... It's thanks to Tammy I'm even alive." Kira said. Glancing over at the other girl.

"You're welcome."

All Might jolted at the sudden voice. Tammy, right behind him speaking muffled through her oxygen mask.

"You're awake too?!" He asked, immediately calling for another nurse.

"Unfortunately..." Tammy whispered. "Everything... Hurts... My stomach my head... I haven't had a headache since I was a kid... Damn it... Why do I feel so hungry? I'm never hungry... And cold... Someone turn the heat on."

Kira's eyes widened. Not only was Tammy awake but...

Kira could hear her
