11: 𝑊ℎ𝑜 𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑑 𝐼 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑠𝑎𝑛𝑒?
They stared at her.
Unlike the rest of her classmates Kira was wearing her hero costume. Her mask covering the bottom of her face, giving the same effect as usual. Masking her face and gender. She had a baggy red leather jacket over her top, concealing her feminine frame.
"Kira!!"
"Where did she come from?!"
"That was quick... Too quick."
Aizawa sighed and rubbed his eyes.
"You followed me." He said. He didn't ask, it was a statement. "You were here the whole time..."
"Followed' would imply that I trailed you. Which I didn't, I already knew how to get here." She shrugged. She walked over to stand behind him. "I was just waiting for an invitation before coming in."
"You're in big trouble for this... Please tell me you didn't sneak off campus." Aizawa said with a sigh.
"Course not. I was signed out. Said I had work study stuff... Which wasn't that big of a lie." She shrugged.
"I have no place for rule breakers on this squad." Nighteye said, looking over his glasses at her. "It's All Might's niece!! I wonder if he's talked about me... I knew he had a niece! No one else did... But he told me! He trusted me! I miss him so much!! She's not much like her uncle... I wonder if he knows she's here?"
The tone in Nighteye's head reminded Kira of someone... She glanced over at Deku, who had no clue how many similarities he had with his mentor.
Nighteye was like Midoriya... Especially now that he wasn't psycho. He obsessively loved All Might like Midoriya loved Bakugou.
But he never showed it.
"More of a rule 'Bender'. None were broken." Kira corrected. "Besides, you need me."
"I do?" Nighteye asked, he didn't sound convinced. "I don't know her quirk... I thought she was quirkless. All Might mentioned it. He didn't lie did he?"
"Course. You do realize that half the information you've presented today could be ruled as entirely circumstantial. I doubt you'd even be able to acquire a search warrant for their compound. Let alone get permission to launch an entire attack. With the resources the Shie Hassaikai has I wouldn't be surprised if they had the PD in their district completely wrapped around their fingers."
Kira said honestly, crossing her arms.
Nighteye contemplated this for a few moments. No one else said anything either. Waiting for his reply.
"And you believe you can give us the evidence we need?" Nighteye asked her. Looking up at the teen.
"You think I'd come here if I didn't?" Kira asked. "Our main focus is the girl, Eri. Right? But other than her interaction with Midoriya and Mirio we had no evidence of the fact that she's being abused. Since there is absolutely no record of her we can't even tie her to the DNA found in the quirk erasing bullets."
"Did you just come here to tell us we can't do anything?" Fatgum asked her. "This is so frustrating! People telling me I can't do anything. That I can't save her! But she's hurting, I know she is!"
"No." Kira shook her head. "I came here to give you the evidence you need to bust Kai
Chisaki for kidnapping, Abuse and quirk mistreatment." She stated.
"Kidnapping? I thought this Eri girl was his kid." Rock Lock asked, with a frown. He'd been wearing one this entire meeting.
There were so many kids in here. Acting like adults.
He might have come off as rude to the other students, to the other pros. By snapping at them and asking repeatedly why they were here.
It wasn't because he thought they were useless because of their lack of experience. It was because he was scared for them.
Kira smiled at him slightly. Hearing his concerns and knowing him after only a glance.
"That's what he said. But we all know he's a villain. And lying would be the least of his crimes." Kira stated. "Didn't you check medical records?"
"Of course we did. But there's no trace of the girl. No where." Nighteye stated. "I left no stone unturned."
"Not hers... His." Kira pulled something out of her bag. "I won't go into many details, but due to an accident that happened in his youth. He's totally sterile." She handed medical records over to Nighteye.
"So it's impossible for him to have a kid?" Aizawa asked. "You really are a detective aren't you?"
"Yep, which begs the question... How did he acquire this one." Kira pulled out something else, a tablet. "Before Overhaul there was another boss. A man that's been missing for a while, which is suspicious enough as it is." Kira pulled up pictures.
"But interestingly this old boss had a daughter, it was hard to find any evidence of her. But when researching I came across this picture." She pulled something up on her tablet. A picture of a tall man with white hair. He didn't look old enough to have white hair, neither did his daughter. A girl who appeared to be in her late teens. Long off white hair and two tiny horns on either side of her head.
"Ask those two." Kira nodded at Midoriya and Togata, who leaned in. "They're a spitting image of each other."
"Woah... She looks just like the little girl." Mirio whispered. Midoriya nodded.
"Of course she found something this big. I researched just as much as she did and was left with nothing... She's annoyingly good at everything. Doesn't matter as long as we save Eri though... I guess."
"She disappeared too. Around five years ago, about a year after Eri would have been born." Kira stated. "I'm assuming she left her with her grandfather. But he disappeared not too long after that."
"So what you're saying. Is that you believe this bastard killed the grandfather and possibly the mother. And took the kid?" Rock Lock asked. "What a monster."
"Yes. I assume after he found out what her quirk is. He knew he could use it so he... Took it for himself." Kira said after a seconds hesitation.
Took it. Took her for her quirk.
He's been torturing her ever since. What happened to Kira was nothing compared to this. If she was right this girl had experienced absolutely nothing but suffering her entire life. For six years.
"I hate to bring this up again." Ryuko said with a sigh. "But we still have no way to know if she's still in the same compound. That's an obstacle we have to get around."
"If we burst in... And we're wrong about her location. We can kiss saving her goodbye."
"I'm getting to that." Kira nodded. "What would you do... If you could get in contact with the Girl?" She asked.
"Kira." Aizawa said, knowing exactly where this was going.
"That would change everything. But it's a fantasy. We don't know where she is, let alone how to talk to her." Rock Lock stated with a frown.
Kira looked to Fatgum. "The bullets. You still have them right?" She asked.
"Of course, they're still being held at the lab though." The man nodded. "Why?"
"I'll put this bluntly. My quirk." She stopped and sighed. "My quirk is mindreader. It gives me the ability to read someone's thoughts clearly when in their immediate area."
"So like... Right now?" A minor pro hero asked nervously. His face hidden by a mask.
"Oh Golly I don't like the idea of that at all..."
"Yes. Right now, and every other moment of my existence." Kira nodded. "But recently we found out something interesting. When I consume someone's blood it changes the way my quirk works on them temporarily. I can read their thoughts from a great distance away and even communicate back to them. I can also see though their eyes."
"Kira. I understand what you're saying, and it's a good idea." Aizawa said, his voice low. "But you should think about this. You don't know what this girl sees, what she's been though..."
"It could destroy your own sanity. Especially with everything that's happened to you in the past. I'm worried this will severely effect you."
"Oh Mr Aizawa..." Kira waved a hand. Through she knew he had a point. She had already thought all of that through and she didn't care.
She would do anything she could to save this girl. To protect her like Aizawa had done to her. Even if it killed her. Body or mind, She was willing to sacrifice it all.
"Who said I was sane?"
