As expected, the next day, Irene really went to work with a hickey that was very obvious in color and placement. It couldn't even be covered by her shirt collar. Her skin was naturally pale and was the type that easily bruised. In addition to the fact that she purposefully wasn't hiding the hickey so that she could show it off, the end result was that anyone could see it from five meters away.

Their big foxy leader, who was usually as serious as a robot and seemed to have no personal life, was suddenly revealing her pink side! This quickly caused an uproar of discussion in their company.

Irene was extremely pleased with these results.

She really hoped that someone would come up and ask her about it so that she could take this opportunity to show off her relationship.

Their company's workers were relatively young. Outside of work, everyone was willing to share a bit of happy news from their private lives. Though Irene was somewhat dull in this regard, she had also frequently been part of the audience as other people showed off their relationships.

However, the way she usually presented herself was too cold and aloof.

Nobody dared to gossip with their foxy senior, who usually rarely even had an expression on her face.

The entire morning, there was surprisingly not even a single person who wanted to come up to her and ask questions! During lunch, she specially went downstairs to eat at the cafeteria. The sound of discussion had previously clearly been so loud that she had heard it through the walls, but as soon as she walked through the door, the room instantly fell completely silent.

What use is it if you guys are chitter chattering behind my back?! Why won't you guys ask me?!

Irene was so agitated she felt like she was going to die.

She also couldn't just randomly stand in the middle of the cafeteria and hold a press conference for her relationship. Even the Disbitch paparazzi who always followed her, didn't release anything yet! And when she locked eyes with some sasaengs they just shrugged their shoulders and go away. What a humiliation!

She could only angrily and disappointedly carry her takeout back to her office.

Fortunately, after lunch break, her head manager who had previously been working on a task outside of the company returned. After setting down his bag, he looked up and immediately saw Irene's neck. He hadn't even gotten the chance to report on work.

"Finally together, huh?"

Fireworks were going off in Irene's heart, but on the surface, she calmly said, "Yeah."

"That wasn't easy." The head manager was actually the real cold and aloof one. He casually nodded. "Do your best to keep things minimally dramatic. Your sasaengs know it too. The paparazzi already got their mouth shut by money. Don't affect work."

Without waiting for Irene to start boasting, he had already opened up the file of documents and started his work report.

Irene had a stomach full of stories that she didn't get the opportunity to share.

After hearing the report, she made a call to reserve the entire revolving restaurant located at the mountaintop. When she got off work, she picked up the engagement ring— Um......yes, Bae Irene, who liked to plan ahead, had already found someone to custom design an engagement ring even before successfully wooing Lisa—

The next day, as everyone else stared, she walked around the entire company while holding hands with Lisa. Lisa was wearing the engagement ring.

In the end, she almost dragged Lisa onto the trending topics list with her.

She ultimately had to ask her sister's connections for help in keeping this incident under wraps.

However, someone still discovered the mention that had disappeared almost immediately.

In less than two days, Lisa received a call from Rosé. Accurately speaking, she received a call from an unknown phone number. Normally, even if it was an annoying telemarketing call, Lisa would still politely answer before hanging up. Thus, she picked up the call. Unexpectedly, it was Rosé. This was truly completely unanticipated.

"Why is it you? Don't you own a phone?"

Rosé didn't own a phone. She didn't have any other easy forms of communication either. To keep in contact with the world, she only checked her email twice a week. She was someone who was completely out of touch with society and only willing to stay in her own world.

The person on the other end of the line simply said, "This isn't my phone. Someone saw the trending topic—the one that got taken down—and came to ask me. I said that there's only a resemblance. But it actually was you, right?"

Lisa hadn't thought that she would be asking about this. She froze for a moment before honestly replying, "Yes."

"So what's actually going on with you right now?" Rosé inquired.

Lisa pondered for a moment. She did her best to summarize the sequence of events clearly.

"That's basically what happened. I'm very sorry for not telling you the whole truth at the time. However, even if we went back in time and I had to choose again, I would make the same choice. Because your talent is truly worthy of such treatment. Your current achievements have also proven that my judgment wasn't wrong. As for me, I suppose I've currently found the true love of my life. And I'm happily living with her now."

"Wealthy people are very prone to changing. I don't really suggest placing all your bets on someone like her." There was a short silence on Rosé's end.

It was also extremely surprising for Lisa that Rosé would actually specially call to say something like this.

To the point that she temporarily didn't know how to respond.

Rosé continued to say, "If you need money to advance your studies, I can afford to pay for you now. There's no need to hang yourself on one tree for money......"

"That's not it." Lisa came back to her senses and interrupted, "Actually, I'm not doing this for money."

"Then what are you doing it for?"

"For love," Lisa instantly answered on instinct.

"That's only an illusion."

"To a lot of people, art is just an illusion too."

"You and I both know that isn't true."

"However, that's only our understanding. In actuality, art can't be eaten or drunk. Many people who haven't received any education regarding it can't understand it at all. How is Picasso's line art dove better than an elementary school student's? How are a few blocks of color considered art? Well right now, are your words any different from theirs? The knowledge a human has is limited. Regarding matters that you're unfamiliar with, it's better to maintain a cautious and polite attitude rather than being arrogantly rejecting of them," Lisa said in one breath.

After saying all this, even she herself froze for a moment. She had never been someone who was good at making long or winded arguments. Nor did she ever have an overbearing attitude. On the contrary, silence and allowance were actually her labels. When facing Rosé, she always acted carefully and cautiously, like a disciple from medieval times facing her master. She had to admit that she was slightly angry. Because Rosé had brought up Irene and Lisa's relationship with Irene using that kind of tone.

The atmosphere was temporarily a bit awkward.

Lisa was in the middle of wondering how to wrap up this conversation.

Out of the blue, Rosé popped out a: "You've changed."

Lisa slightly furrowed her brows. "I have changed a bit."

"So you're not going to draw anymore?"

"Huh?" Lisa didn't understand how the topic had jumped to this one. "Of course I'm going to continue drawing. I'm studying oil painting as a graduate student and will continue to make composite sculptures."

"She's allowing you to?"

"Why not?" Lisa felt very perplexed. She simply decided to relay everything from how Irene had taken her to exhibitions in different countries to how Irene had helped arrange varying extra classes for her, etc.

"But, a peaceful life isn't advantageous for creation. Talented individuals have hard lives. Only pain is the nourishment for art."

"Art is diverse. Swans have their own tunes and nightingales have their own songs," Lisa refuted. "There isn't only one road that leads to Rome."

"Do you genuinely believe this from the bottom of your heart?" Rosé asked. Her tone was careful; she was extremely serious.

"Yes." Lisa pressed on her chest. "In the past, I only stayed by your side, acting like an inferior imitator. To me, everything you said was right. But that's not how things are anymore. I have a path I want to walk down now. I don't know if this path will lead anywhere, but I want to take a chance. It's not like an artist can become independent by imitating others."

Rosé didn't say anything, remaining silent.

Lisa decided to continue speaking, her mind was still on the fact that Rosé had criticized Irene with no understanding of the other. She was very unhappy. She exaggeratedly complimented Irene's good taste.

"Not only is she my lover, but she's also the light that helps me illuminate the road ahead. Only because of her do I have the courage to seek out my own path. I also have the capability of doing so because of her help. I hope that I can use my art and a lifetime's worth of accompaniment to repay her. I don't wish to hear anyone say anything negative about her. Not even you."

To someone as complacent as Lisa, this was technically already her threatening to cut off their relationship.

She thought that Rosé would become outraged. She was already prepared to hang up the call at a moment's notice. Unexpectedly, not only was Rosé not mad, but she actually sighed with relief instead.

"If that's the case, I can rest at ease."

"Huh?"

"You're very talented. If a mistake on my part had caused you to be unable to continue drawing, I would feel guilty. Since you're going to continue drawing, I can rest at ease." After saying this, Rosé immediately hung up the call without even politely bidding farewell.

Leaving Lisa frozen in place. She only felt like all her punches had landed on soft cotton. She couldn't keep up with Rosé at all. The expression on her face now was beyond confused.

However, it seemed that she had never really been able to keep up with Rosé in the first place.

Lisa slightly furrowed her brows. At the time, why had she believed that this relationship, one with a complete lack of mutual understanding, was love.

"Am I that wonderful?" Before Lisa could consider anything else, she was suddenly hugged from behind. Irene's voice sounded out. Immediately after, a warm and wet kiss landed on the tiny bone protruding from her neck. "Complimenting me for a whole half an hour?"

Lisa thought back on what she had just said. Her face started burning up. She lifted her hands and covered her face before weakly nodding.

"You are that wonderful. When did you come in?"

"When you said, 'There isn't only one road that leads to Rome.'"

"You don't mind?"

"Have some faith in yourself. I'm not that petty," Irene generously said. While saying this, she turned Lisa around, locked the other into her embrace, and kissed her. After a while of kissing, she added, "However, you're not allowed to answer her calls in the future. You have to instantly hang up after hearing her voice."

Lisa obediently said okay while wrapping her arms around Irene's neck.
