The entire way, Irene kept Lisa's hand in her own. The two of them both had thoughts preoccupying their minds, so they didn't really speak much. They snuck glances at each other.

Both were beyond anxious that the other would discover this.

Thus, surprisingly, neither discovered.

What made Irene upset was the fact that this trip was surprisingly short.

Before she could even warm up Lisa's hand, they had somehow already arrived.

She could only pretend that the car was too big and that she couldn't find a parking spot for it. After driving around the airport again, even she found herself childish and comical. She ultimately stopped the car in front of the arrivals hall. But she was still unwilling to let go of the hand she was holding.

A while later, Lisa moved her fingers first. "Um......Miss Bae ......"

Irene closed her eyes and calmed herself down. She then heaved out a long sigh in her heart. She wanted to kiss Lisa, but the car's front windows weren't covered. Irene feared that Lisa would feel troubled, so didn't dare to do so. She only picked up the other's hand and glued it to her lips.

Lisa didn't understand what was going on. She also didn't dare to move. She simply let Irene keep her lips glued on.

Irene stared at her delicate features without blinking. She could only think of the way Lisa had looked while crying out in pain in her nightmare. For a long time, she couldn't talk herself into letting go. Until the alarm she had set on her phone started ringing.

"You know my personal phone number, right?" She finally sighed in secret and asked.

Lisa nodded. "I do."

"If anything comes up," Irene started. For fear that Lisa wouldn't understand, she emphasized, "No matter what, no matter when, no matter if it's troublesome or not. As long as you think it's necessary, call me."

Lisa froze.

With slightly furrowed brows, she stared at Irene through lifted eyelashes. Then, she quickly lowered her gaze once more, nodded, and agreed.

Though Irene's car had a lowkey outer appearance, its value was five to ten times that of a normal car. Mixed in among the flow of cars entering and exiting the airport, it couldn't not stand out.

Even when it was extremely far away, it was still instantly recognizable.

Lisa stood next to the window of the arrivals hall. She held onto the railing and watched as that car slowly travelled through the busy traffic, gradually getting smaller and smaller until it could finally no longer be seen.

The rims of her eyes were a bit red. Her eyes were also a bit watery.

But ultimately, there weren't any actual tears.

Irene always said that Lisa started crying at a single touch and called her little crybaby. While joking, she would say that Lisa's "bones and flesh had been made of water." But Lisa knew that this wasn't true. In the almost twenty years before she had met Irene, she had only cried two or three times at most.

The same held true now. As long as she wasn't by Irene's side, she wouldn't be able to cry, even if she wanted to. After all, tears wouldn't actually solve any problems. When one was alone, they were the most useless things.

Lisa squeezed her lips together. Irene's car had already disappeared from her line of sight. There was no use standing here anymore either. She thought about it, then laughed at herself while shaking her head. "Stop dreaming about such unattainable things." She lowly muttered.

She had come to this arrival halls many times.

She remembered the first time she had come, three years ago. That had been Rose's first break after leaving the city. She had stood in the waiting area, neck stretched and on tiptoe as she looked around. At that time, how excited had she felt inside? She had basically been a bird cheerily hopping and singing on a branch.

Why had her memories slowly changed color later on, then? She could never figure this out.

It was almost as if the closer to the present, the blurrier Rose's face got.

As for these past two years, her memories regarding this hall were basically all of Irene.

Sometimes, she was by Irene's side, pushing her suitcase along and slowly walking out while wondering what to eat when returning to the villa later; other times, the flight would be delayed because of weather conditions. They wouldn't arrive until after midnight. She would be bleary with sleep and only slightly conscious. She could feel Irene covering her head with a jacket and keeping her protected in her arms.

She could also hear Irene say to an unknown person, "Speak more softly. She's tired, don't wake her."——Irene often took her on trips out of the country during concert abroad. She took whatever opportunities were available. Additionally, almost as if she knew how to read minds, she always knew what destination Lisa wanted to visit the most at the time.

The most recent trip had been to Switzerland.

When they had departed, the destination had been kept a secret. Irene had used a black cloth to cover Lisa's eyes. For a majority of the trip, she had been in Irene's arms. To eat, she had been fed. To use the bathroom, Irene couldn't be considered a human with no wants. Or, in Irene's eyes, Lisa was a tool for "those needs" anyways.

As such, she saw Irene's less gentlemanly side exceptionally many times. Either way, in Lisa's memory, Irene had engaged her in quite a few extreme sex games. It wasn't like she had never experienced being so blissed out that she had almost lost consciousness either. However, nothing left as deep of an impression as this recollection.

Probably because after taking off the eye covering, she had seen the grand exterior of the Zurich University of Fine Arts right in front of her – the one she had been dreaming about everyday. Irene had leaned down and said into her ear, the class you wanted to sit in on, I've arranged it for you. Three weeks. Hwaiting.

Thinking back now, she still couldn't help feeling aroused.

Lisa vigorously shook her head. She thought to herself where did I get so much bold courage from back then? I actually thought that this was nothing more than a transaction, an exchange of money and services. As long as I didn't get mesmerized by luxury, I would be able to leave completely whole at the end.

But how could this be possible?

Staying by the side of someone like that. Being gently and tenderly stared at by those dark and deep eyes for three years.

How could she still be completely whole upon leaving?

The person who could leave even less wholly was in the middle of gradually stopping her car by the side of the road. She made a phone call and told the driver her location, then silently got out of the car to light a cigarette.

Irene actually rarely smoked in day to day life.

She was especially careful to avoid smoking in front of Lisa——Lisa had the same sensitivities that were unique to artists. Her senses were keener than normal people's. She could tell where Irene had gone and who she had seen simply based on smells. Irene feared that the smell of smoke would ruin this sensitivity, so had practically quit smoking entirely.

Today was an exception.

Irene inhaled the smoke deep into her lungs before slowly spitting it out again: she also hadn't thought that she would be at such a loss. To the point that she frequently blanked out and couldn't even safely drive her car. For fear of getting into an accident, she could only stop and wait for the driver to come.

In the end, almost an hour had passed before she finally got home after much difficulty.

When she walked in the door, traces of Lisa were still everywhere.

Looking at these traces when the person was still by her side made them sweet. But now, they looked a little sour.

Irene sat alone in Lisa's art studio for a while. She sighed, then stood up and went to the study. She took the red envelopes that had been prepared in advance out and summoned the butler. She departed the red envelopes with the butler and told him to divide them among all the servants——Lisa had moved in while injured and temporarily turned the small living room into an art studio. These had all been unplanned changes. Because of her sudden whim, the servants had become busy. Lisa wasn't the type to not give these people extra compensation.

The butler froze. "Is Miss Manoban not coming back? I thought that this break......" He had been in the family for a long time, so spoke in a more straightforward manner. Upon seeing Irene's expression, though, he instantly stopped speaking. "Ah, my apologies, Young Miss. I've overstepped my bounds."

Irene rubbed the spot between her eyebrows. "It's nothing. I originally also thought......" As she spoke, she chuckled. "Maybe next time. Next break. Winter break. I'll do my best to have her stay here for Christmas and New Year's Eve."

She had made a big promise. Irene herself didn't even know if she could succeed. Originally, she had thought that it would be possible. She could only say that this was a wonderful hope.

After all, she was known for being calm, collected, and always having a plan.

This time, in her anticipations she ought to have been as calm as usual too. She should've held herself back and followed the original plan by gradually infiltrating Lisa's life, then slowly clearing out the influences of the "girlfriend."

However, in actuality, this hadn't worked.

While watching Lisa's figure gradually getting smaller at the airport, finally disappearing around the corner, Irene ultimately realized that she had long since become a chaotic mess.

The supposed "it's easy to go from a simple life to an extravagant one, but difficult to go from an extravagant life to a simple one" held true in all regards.

In the past, she had never lived together with Lisa for so long.

In all their interactions lasting more than three days, they practically always went on vacations. The feeling of vacationing was different from daily life, after all.

She had only been able to secretly imagine it in her heart. She felt that having someone like this at home would probably be quite nice.

Only after actually trying it out did she realize that it was much better than she had ever thought. All the tiny details about life had become more vibrant because of this person. The sunlight was no longer too blinding when she opened her eyes in the morning; each breath of air was sweet.

God knows how hard she had worked to hold herself back at the airport to avoid doing something unforgivable.

She felt fortunate about and proud of her own self-control. Even though she's also felt a bit of regret. After all, if she forced Lisa to stay ...

Stop right there. You can't continue with that train of thought.

Irene hit her own head. All the difference between her and Lisa were huge, if not for this twisted contract relationship. It would have basically been impossible for these two people to bump shoulders on the street in this lifetime. Their only possible connection would be Lisa seeing her on TV one day.

Even if they couldn't be together, she still didn't want Lisa to turn into that.

After all, Lisa was already more sensitive and susceptible to injury than everyone else.

Things that were extremely trivial to other people were easily expanded limitlessly in Lisa's eyes. She was easily delighted, but would also start suffering because of unknown reasons at times, turning thoughts over and over in her head until she had stayed up the whole night.

The day she had taken Lisa to school, she had only offhandedly remarked, "You've gained weight." Many times after, she had noticed the other secretly squeezing her belly in front of the mirror in the bathroom, posing in various different ways and examining herself from different angles. She also refused to eat too much.

Lisa was very cute when she was cautious and obedient. Irene truly liked her like this too. She found it very comforting and considerate. But now, she wanted Lisa's comfort, freedom, and happiness more.

So, it was best to not even think about those dark thoughts.

Though she wanted to do that, thoughts were actually uncontrollable.

For several consecutive days, Irene was in a very muddled state outside of work hours. Thoughts about Lisa repeatedly played over and over again in her mind, but it was also like she hadn't thought of anything at all.

While drinking juice, she somehow started flipping through the pictures of Lisa she had on her phone. In actuality, she only had two. And, they had both been secretly taken when Lisa had stayed with her this time. In the past, she never dared to keep the photos on her phone for fear that one day, her phone would happen to get lost and be handed off to the paparazzi after being picked up by someone. Nothing substantial would happen to her, but Lisa's entire life would be ruined.

I don't mind if Lisa is dating, as long as she's happy, that's all what we (or is it only me?) want. At this point, only 6L closest creature that makes her happy. Let's support her through ups and downs.
