Somebody That I Used To Know

A/N: Catra is a petty bitch and I love that for her .

If this is confusing, good. That's the point.

All will be revealed soon enough.

Long Chapter for you poopy heads !

"I just don't get it." Catra said with a shrug whilst getting out of the car. "I practically begged you to come with me last month so I wouldn't be alone and you made all these crazy excuses as to why you couldn't come. Now you're here with me for what reason?"

Closing her car door, Adora sighed. She couldn't exactly tell Catra she was on a top secret mission to infiltrate the Horde.

Well she could, it just wouldn't be the best idea.

Adora's been over this. She had gone over every possible scenario where she tells Catra she's She - Ra. All of which caused problems.

This was all for the best.

"I just changed my mind? I mean you're being forced to be here and there's a ton of hot rich people that want to steal you away from me." Adora half lied.

"You know I only have eyes for you, idiot. But whatever I guess. Now get ready for them to take pictures. Does my outfit look hot?"

Catra was very aware she looked amazing. She honestly just wanted to hear it from her girlfriend over and over. She liked praise.

Catra was wearing the tight black dress with the slit on the side. It showed every curve perfectly. Catra looked stunning. Adora kind of wished this wasn't a profession setting. Or mission.

Otherwise, the dress would've been off by now.

Adora had gone with a suit because it was easier for her to move in. If she had to fight, she would. She doesn't need a Horde soldier to see her bare ass with a dress on if she's fighting.

Adora smirked a little, holding Catra by her waist. She whispered in her ear, "Have I told you that you're the hottest, smartest, sexiest woman I know."

Catra laughed. "You have. But I can stand to hear it more often."

"You're stupid." Adora giggled. "I can't believe so many people showed up."

"The Mayor's Banquet is a huge thing, Adora. It's where all the rich white men brag about how many times they've cheated on their wives and how much money they have. Dad says it's good for business for me to be here. I don't really have a choice those."

As the two walked down the maroon carpet, cameras flashed, calling Catra's name and asking Adora questions.

Adora often forgot their status. Before her father became Mayor, Catra already had a lot of eyes on her. Mr. Prime was wealthy and has an successful business.

Not to mention, Adora is a writer for one of the biggest newspaper/ magazine companies in the all of the Etherian country.

When Catra got ready to enter, she saw something. Or someone.

Shannon Weaver.

The two made eye contact and Weaver set down her drink, walking over to Catra.

Catra grinned when she hit a realization.

"How dare you!" Shannon scolded. "You have the audacity to come here, in my dress!"

Catra snorted as she looked the woman up and down. She had on the exact same dress. "Someone's jealous that I look better in it than you, hmm?"

"Catra.." Adora said through her teeth. "We don't want to cause a scene do we."

Catra put her hand up, causing Adora to shut up for some reason.

As she inched closer, Shannon Weaver glared into the brunette's heterochromic eyes. "Oh please, I don't what game you're playing, Elizabeth. And I know that you're jealous. But I will take you down. You're not welcome here."

"Actually I am welcome, I was invited." Catra rebutaled. She laughed as she began to walk away. Before she left Weaver's sight, she smiled.  "And as for taking me down, I'd love to see you try."

"Woo! That's my girlfriend!" Adora yelled loudly, only to realize everyone was now staring at her. She waved sheepishly. "Sorry guys! Excuse me."

She then ran off to follow her girlfriend. The two stared at each other in silence as they walked inside.

And when they sat down at their reserved table with Glimmer and Bow, they all erupted into laughter.

--

"I wanted to say I'm sorry." Adora spoke, earning a confused look from Catra. "About?"

Adora took a hand into her suit pocket, pulling out something that Catra couldn't quite see yet. As the object got into her view she realized what I was.

Her bracelet.

"You were right." Adora admitted. "I found it hanging out of Weaver's jacket in coat check. I made you feel like you were crazy when you were 100% right." The blonde passed an in shook Catra her bracelet. "I know how much it means to you."

"I love you so much right now." Catra muttered, hugging Adora and rest her head on the other woman's chest. "Thank you."

"Ugh. Get a room." Catra's best friend, Mermista groaned out. "I need to borrow you."

"I'll be back." Catra told the other three, they nodded and Mermista and Catra walked away gossiping.

"So Shadow Weaver did have your bracelet?"

Catra nodded with a hum. "I told you guys! I need to tell my dad, but I doubt he'll beileve me without evidence."

"You're right about that." Mermista agreed walking into the bathroom with Catra, locking it behind her. "You think she's a trader?"

"I don't know. Maybe she's just trying to spite me. But something's up. Dad thinks I'm paranoid. But this seems too suspicious." Catra answered as she began taking off her dress. "Help me with the zip?"

Mermista let out an 'ugh', but complied nonetheless. "Is Entrapta ready to get the package?"

"Yeah. Saw her on the way in. She's waiting with Scorpia in the getaway. I think she snagged a couple wallets too. Payday!"

"Bet! Then the mission should be easy. As long there's no distractions or problems." Mermista said, handong Catra a pistol while the brunette changed into something less noticeable. "Just in case."

"I doubt I'll need it. I can move things with my mind, I should be fine."

Mermista shrugged. "I don't know. You can't trust these dark market dealers. They always try to get more money than agreed."

"You're right about that. But I'll be fine. It's kind of cute that you care about me though." Catra teased while she put on a red mask. She gave Mermista a side hug before grabbing her ear piece.

"See you on the flip side, dumbass."

--

"Do you think she's okay?!" Adora asked as she searched for Catra. "It's been like ten minutes."

"Adora, you need to chill! She's with Mermista." Glimmer reassured the blonde. "The trade is happening around now. We'll find her. You need to go."

Adora nodded hesitantly, running off to the top canopy of the building. When she got there, she touched her ear piece. "Okay, what am I looking for?"

"Just wait. They're coming."

Adora waited for a while until she saw two people, one girl and one boy with a briefcase. The man hesitated when giving the briefcase to the woman.

"They're arguing." Adora whispered to her ear piece.

"Can you hear about what?" Bow asked. "enhancing hearing.. now."

"Putting my mic to you so you can hear." Adora whispered, pressing her ear piece carefully.

"I want triple!" The man yelled at the woman. "I didn't realize you were rich."

"You're not getting triple. We can do this the hard way. Or the easy way. I'm down with whatever." The woman stated calmly, sitting with her legs crossed on a table. "I'm willing to negotiate. But you ain't getting triple Ms. Girl."

"Then you're not getting shit." The man declared, pulling a gun from his pocket.

"Going in!" Adora told Glimmer and Bow, ripping her suit again and changing to She- Ra. Then she proceed to dropping from her spot on the ceiling.

"Hey guys. Wanna talk about what's in the box?"

"She- Ra.." The man muttered. "Oh hell no! I ain't going back to jail."

The man ran off and Adora let him go.

"Hey She-Ra." The woman laughed. C'yra. "As fun as our little quickies are, I need to get this."

"Can't let that happen. And do you have to call it quickies?"

"Well I am half the time I'm fighting you,  you're thinking about sex. Your libido is something else. You should get that check out." C'yra giggled before grabbing the briefcase.

"So we're doing this the hard way." Adora sighed , ignoring the comment and begining to throw punches. "Just give me the box, you told me you didn't want to do this. So why are you?"

"That was a miscalculation in conversation. It was a weak moment of distraction. I am loyal to the Horde." C'yra answered awkwardly as if she didn't even believe what she was saying. She was using her powers, so was Adora. They're fights always get intense.

"Just give me the case!" Adora growled,  tugging on one side of the case, C'yra on the other. "Nope! I have to get it!"

Adora could tell C'yra was conflicted to some extent. Adora used that weakness. She swiftly kicked C'yra's leg, causing the girl to lose her balance. Them being on a 10 foot up canopy like roof, balance was important.

C'yra stumbled, eventually falling off the roof. Which scared the shit out of Adora.

She hadn't wanted to hurt C'yra!

But when she looked down to see the damage, C'yra had landed perfectly. She then ran off.

"Guys?" Adora called, smiling at her success. "I got it."

--

"Did it work?" Her uncle, Hordak asked.

Catra grinned, tapping the back of the getaway car. "Like a charm. I told you I'm the best planner."

"Good job today, kid."

"Those idiots won't see what's coming." Catra remarked as her uncle patted her pack.

"Thanks for the help tonight. Now go find your girlfriend and live your life."

Catra smiled, nodding and walking back to the bathroom with Mermista.

--

"Hey!" Adora called, finally finding her girlfriend at the bar with Double Trouble. "Are you okay?! I've been looking for you."

"I'm fineeeee. I've been looking for you too." Catra admitted, hugging onto Adora and kissing her face. "I'm a little drunk to be honest. Carry me?"

"Anything for you." Adora agreed, smiling as she pecked her girlfriend's lips. "I love you."

"Me too."

Adora smiled softly as she carried a half asleep Catra to the car. She loved this girl more than anything.

Which is why it's going to hurt the both of them in the long run.
