The week had finally passed, and you were finally done healing. Sure, you were still a bit sore, but at least you weren't dying anymore, so that's a win I guess...?
You packed your things into your backpack snacks, water, clothes and unfortunately, your phone battery had died, but you still tossed it in there out of habit.
As you walked down the halls of the Butterfly Mansion, you were met with Aoi, who looked visibly upset. She ran over and hugged you tightly.
"I-I-I'm gonna miss you so much, Y/N!! Please be safe!" she said, her face a little pink.
You just laughed and patted her head.
"Pfft don't worry!! I got this. Plus, the way to Tengen's house isn't even that far."
She slowly let go of you, pouting and turning her head away.
"You better do great!! "
Then suddenly, the three little gremlins Sumi, Naho, and Kiyo threw themselves at you, hugging you all at once.
"WAAAAH!! WE DIDN'T KNOW YOU'D BE GONE SO EARLY! WE WOULD'VE SPENT MORE TIME WITH YOU, Y/N-CHAN!! "
Sumi wailed into your shoulder dramatically.
"Like I told Aoi, I'll be back!! I won't die... maybe!! But still!! I'll come back! "
You grinned and after a moment, they slowly nodded and let you go.
"... Okay.. "
You made your way through the dirt path, hands in your pockets.
"Mhm... How the hell am I gonna save them? " you groaned and shook your head.
"I can do it!! Plus Kyojuro is alive so he'll help... Right...? " you said to yourself, and suddenly, Yoriichi appeared beside you.
"Help me, Yoriichiiiii!!!!" you sulked and kept walking.
"Yes, dear? " Yoriichi asked.
"What am I gonna do?! I don't want them to die!! " you cried out.
"Well... I think... You should tell them, y/n. About you being from another universe. Warn them. Explain how they're all gonna die one by one, y/n... You won't escape the truth" he explained calmly.
"Okay, fine!! I explain and tell them! How are they gonna survive, mhm?!"
"That's for them to figure out. You're just going to try and protect them, not risk your life here."
"Fine... I guess...That makes sense..." you sighed and continued walking. Tengen's mansion was now in sight, and your heart picked up speed.
You began running toward the entrance, boots kicking up dust as your excitement grew. You were about to meet the Uzui's wives duh????
"Oh my god, I'm gonna see THE wives Makio's gonna punch me or something, and honestly, I'm gonna let her!!" you whispered to yourself, grinning like an idiot as the sun hit the glint in your eyes.
You didn't even knock.
You barged straight through the front doors like you owned the place.
"HELLOOOO?? Future wifus?!? It's me!! " you called out dramatically, your voice echoing through the massive hallway as you kicked off your shoes and made yourself at home.
No one answered immediately, but you could hear light footsteps quick, soft ones from somewhere deeper inside. You stood there, fidgeting with your sleeves, biting back a nervous grin.
"...I swear if Makio slams me into the wall, I'm gonna cry and say thank you"
Your voice dropped as you whispered, "Be cool, y/n... Be nonchalant.Be sexy. Be-"
A door slid open and you froze.
Three heads peeked around the corner Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru.
And there was a long silence.
"...Hi " you said, waving awkwardly. "I'm gonna live with you for a while to train ya know' "
Makio squinted.
"...Who the hell are you?"
"Y/n L/n!!Tengen simp, but like respectfully... maybe...?but I still simp for you ladies more!! "
Suma gasped, "Wait, you're the one he mentioned!!! "
Hinatsuru blinked. "He said you might show up. With... A weird attitude That's you?? "
You pointed to yourself. "Weird is my middle name, darling!!"
Makio stepped forward, arms crossed. "You better not get in our way."
You smirked. "You kidding? I'm gonna be your favorite by the end of the week!! "
"WHO'S HERE?! " Tengen stomped into the room, loud and dramatic as always. His eyes landed on you and instantly lit up. He rushed over and pulled you into a tight hug.
"HEY THERE!! " he beamed, practically lifting you off the floor. "Glad to see you! I see you've already met my wives, mhm?" he asked proudly, tossing a wink in their direction.
"Yeah... I wish they were mine though," you sighed, giving a playful side eye toward the trio.
Tengen froze for a second,his eye twitched at your reply, a vein nearly popping on his forehead.
"HAAAH?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?! " he yelled, dramatically pointing at you like you'd just committed a crime.
You smirked and leaned against the wall casually. "You heard me! I wish your wives were mine. They're so pretty, like how did you manage to bag all three?? Asking for a friend of course!! "
He sputtered, taken aback. "EXCUSE ME?! I am the God of Festivals! Of course they fell for me! " he huffed, flipping his hair with flair. "And don't go talking like that! You can't just go around wishing for people's wives! "
You rolled your eyes and waved him off playfully. "Relax, Mr. Flashy. It's a compliment! You should be thanking me."
Tengen turned away dramatically, hiding the growing flush creeping up his neck. His usual cocky smile wavered for a second, replaced by something softer almost shy.
"...Tch. You're such a brat ya' know that? "
"Huh?"
"Nothing! Now let's go you've got training to join, brat."
He huffed, spinning on his heel and stomping toward the door.
"You gonna stop ogling my wives and follow me or what?!" he barked, throwing a look over his shoulder only to catch you still making heart eyes at them.
Without waiting for your response, he grabbed you by the back of your clothes.
"COME ON!!"
You yelped as he yanked you forward, dragging you halfway out the door.
Still being pulled, you looked back dramatically and blew a kiss at his wives.
All three immediately blushed. Suma hid behind Makio, who covered her face with both hands, while Hinatsuru giggled.
"You little shit!!!"Tengen hissed under his breath, his ears turning slightly red.
He released you with a grunt once you were outside and crossed his arms.
"You're way too comfortable around them."
You stretched like nothing happened.
"That's because they like me. Maybe more than you!! "
"Yeah sure, whatever! They can never like you more than they like me, brat!!"
"Yeah? You sure?" you giggled, cocking a brow and pointing toward the door slightly ajar, the three women clearly peeking with red cheeks and wide eyes.
"OH HELL NA-" he barked, spinning around.
"Listen, like husband like wives..." you teased, voice dripping sarcasm as you strolled past him. "You probably have the same type as them. And probably like me too."
He choked on air.
"The hell I do!" he snapped a little too quickly, voice a pitch too high to sound convincing. "Why the hell would I like a loud, annoying, smug little gremlin like you?! "
You just gave him the most smug grin ever known to human kind.
"So you admit I'm cute?"
"I DIDN'T SAY THAT!! " he practically exploded, stomping after you as you burst into laughter, skipping down the path.
Tengen groaned, one hand running down his face as you skipped ahead, practically glowing with mischief. "Why do you always twist my words like that?! " he shouted after you, quickening his pace to catch up.
"Because it's fun~~?? " you sang, twirling on your heel to walk backward, facing him with a teasing look on your face. "And you make it too easy ,darling!! "
He almost tripped. "Don't call me that-!! "
"But you liked it" you cut in smoothly, wiggling your eyebrows.
"Did NOT."
"You're blushing..."
"It's hot outside! " he barked, clearly flustered now. "And don't think I didn't notice you flirting with Makio like that. She's my wife you know! "
You shrugged, grinning. "And she has taste, unlike some peacocking buffoon who pretends not to care but gets red in the ears every time I wink."
He paused, then looked genuinely scandalized. "I do not?! I'm too flashy for this!! "
