Daki lunged forward, her speed lightning-fast—but Tanjiro was faster.

He dove low, grabbing her leg from behind and pulling her off balance.

With a sharp twist of his body, he brought his katana upward in a clean arc toward her neck—but she spun midair and narrowly dodged, flipping gracefully before landing on her feet across the rooftop.

“Those lost lives will never return,” Tanjiro’s voice rang out, fury tightening each word. “They can never come back!”

Daki’s ankle, sliced open from the earlier strike, pulsed and then reformed instantly.

She scoffed. “Those made of flesh and blood can’t do what demons do. You cling to fragility and call it strength. Why would you rob yourself of power? Why would you cling to something so... breakable?”

Tanjiro’s grip tightened on his sword. “Why would you rob them?! Why would you trample over their lives like they meant nothing?!”

Daki flinched slightly.

‘I’ve heard these words before…’ she thought, her pupils dilating.

Suddenly, a vision flickered through her mind—uninvited and suffocating.

There, in a blaze of crimson light, stood Yoriichi Tsugikuni, calm yet terrifying, with his blade drawn, eyes full of sorrow and judgment.

‘Who is that? I don’t know him. These aren’t my memories… It’s the cells. Master Muzan’s…!’

Her breath caught.

You, leaning lazily against a broken lantern nearby, blinked and raised your brows.

“Wow,” you said dryly, “Yoriichi really traumatized the hell outta Muzan, huh?”

Yoriichi appeared beside you, ghostlike, his eyes fixed on Daki with a quiet, simmering rage.

“He deserved it,” Yoriichi murmured. “He deserved death.”

You glanced at him sideways. “Calm down, will ya? You’re starting to sound like an edgy villain monologuing.”

“I am calm,” he replied, dead serious. “What do you mean?”

You sighed and flicked a small pebble off the roof. “Whatever, cutie. Lemme just watch the show. I love a live season finale.”

Your eyes turned back to the fight—Tanjiro breathing heavily, his sword steady, and Daki looking shaken, something new flickering behind her confident mask.

For once, she didn’t laugh.

She looked… haunted.

Daki slowly stood up from the debris, her eye twitching and mouth curled into a furious grin.

“You can’t stop me!!” she yelled.

Her hands snapped up as her body lifted off the ground like a possessed marionette.

Blood Demon Art: Eight-Layered Obi Slash!

With a sickening ripple, her obi unfurled from her back in a spiraling, jagged wave—writhing like serpents through the air, dozens of them, sharp, layered, and deadly.

Each one screamed as it sliced through the rooftop tiles, tearing through wood and air with a screech. The sky above glinted with the light reflecting off the blades of silk, a storm of death and color descending.

“Now you can’t stop this, can you?” she sneered.

Tanjiro narrowed his eyes and ran straight into the storm.

“Hinokami Kagura... Burning Bones, Summer Sun!!

His sword flashed like wildfire—one, two, three cuts—fluid and fierce. He weaved through the blades like a flame through wind, his breathing sharp and labored.

Daki’s eyes widened.

‘It hurts! What is this pain?! I can’t regenerate?!’

Her attacks failed to slow him down—his blade burned through her techniques.

Snarling, she jumped to another rooftop, launching herself like a ribbon-wrapped comet. Tanjiro followed, pushing his body past its limit. He reached her in a blink, blade aimed for her neck—

But just before it connected, her neck morphed into a swirling mass of obi.

“You could never hope to decapitate me,” she taunted.

Tanjiro’s sword cut through—but it didn’t slice deep enough.

‘It’s too soft… it’s weaving around my blade. It’s absorbing the force. She’s—she’s bending the attacks before they hit!’

Meanwhile, a few feet away, you plopped down dramatically on the edge of a half-demolished roof and leaned against Yoriichi—only to fall through his ghostly shoulder.

“What the f— Yoriichi, are you serious?!”

He rolled his ethereal eyes. “Sorry, dear.”

You sat up with a pout, brushing off debris as you glared at him. “Ghost boyfriend duties: failed.”

Just then, your eyes locked on Tanjiro’s blade—right at Daki’s throat.

‘He’s gonna do it. He’s got her.’

Tanjiro’s eyes narrowed, his grip firm.

‘I can do it this time. I can slash her—’

But suddenly, his breath caught.

He coughed violently, dropping to one knee.

His lungs burned. He gasped for air.

Daki’s eyes lit up.

“Pathetic humans...” she muttered, descending gracefully through the air like a falling lotus petal. “No matter how you struggle, this is all you amount to. I almost feel sorry for you.”

Her expression twisted cruelly as she raised her hand, claws ready.

“I’ll return the favor—by slicing your head clean off—!”

CRACK!!

Her sentence was cut off—literally—as a bare foot slammed into her face at full force, sending her flying across the street and smashing into a building.

Nezuko landed with a soft thud, smoke rising from her foot.

She growled low in her throat, bamboo muzzle steaming.

Daki, dazed, blinked and hissed. “It’s you… The one he was talking about…”

A hazy memory clouded her mind.

Muzan’s voice echoed through her skull:

“Find the girl with the mark. Eliminate her.”

“You got this, Nezuko!! GO QUEEN!! SLAY HER ASS!!” you yelled, punching the air.

Nezuko lunged.

But Daki snapped into motion, slicing her leg off mid-air and slamming her through the remains of a building wall.

“NEZUKO!!!” you gasped, frozen for a second as the smoke cleared.

You took a step forward to run—instinct screaming to help her—but then you stopped dead in your tracks.

Nezuko was crawling out.

Her regeneration was too fast.

Her veins pulsed black with heat.

Her eyes were glowing violently.

You winced.

“Oh shit... she’s already out of control.”

You turned to Yoriichi slowly. “I think it’s about to get very Unholy in here”

Nezuko slowly stood, steam curling off her wounds as her blood sizzled with rage. Her breathing was low and guttural—more beast than girl now.

Daki narrowed her eyes, taking a step closer with a mocking smile.

“Hold on a second… what’s this?” she asked with an arched brow.

Right in front of her, Nezuko’s form began to change. Her small frame surged with power, growing taller, more muscular. Her veins pulsed visibly beneath her skin. The horn on her forehead broke through. Her tattoos spread like wildfire across her body.

Nezuko let out a distorted, feral groan as she glared up at Daki.

With terrifying speed, she vanished—and reappeared right in front of her.

“Another kick?” Daki scoffed—SLASH!

She moved fast, slicing Nezuko’s arm and leg clean off mid-air.

But Nezuko didn’t scream. She didn’t flinch. Her eyes burned with bloodlust.

Before Daki could strike her neck, Nezuko regenerated instantly—and stomped down on Daki's spine, slamming her hard into the roof tiles.

CRASH!!

The building groaned under the impact.

Dust and debris kicked up into the sky.

You sat quietly a few feet away on another rooftop, watching the chaos unfold below like an ominous firework show. Despite the thrill, the brutal satisfaction of watching Nezuko own Daki, a strange emptiness settled in your chest.

You exhaled through your nose.

“...She’s a demon, yeah,” you murmured, eyes still fixed on Daki’s crumpled body. “She’s killed so many people. She’s done unforgivable shit…”

You leaned forward, resting your elbows on your knees, eyes softening just a bit.

“But she still has a sad backstory. They all do, don’t they?” you whispered.

A breeze passed by, fluttering the ends of your haori.

You swallowed the lump in your throat.

"...And for a second, I just wanna sit next to her and tell her she didn’t deserve any of that pain either."

But then Nezuko let out another distorted growl, her claws dragging Daki upward with feral force—ripping the demon from her pity and slamming her back into reality.

Your eyes hardened again.

“No... Not yet,” you muttered to yourself.
