Later that day...

You sat on the engawa with Yoriichi, legs swinging like a kid waiting for ice cream.

"Yoriichi?"

"Yes, dear?"

"So... since we're going to the Mugen Train tomorrow..."

He turned to you with a patient smile. "Yes?"

"What's the actual plan?"

He let out a small sigh. "You know you don't have to whisper. No one's around right now."

"Oh-right. Forgot."

You cleared your throat and sat up straighter. "Anyway, since I already know the demon uses tickets to put people to sleep-"

"Yes."

"And that I gotta avoid sleeping by like, not touching the damn tickets-"

"Correct."

"I could hide under my seat."

"...That's your plan A?"

"Yeah. Plan B is... I stall Akaza with my charm and sarcasm until the boys show up."

Yoriichi tilted his head. "You think you can stall Akaza?"

"With what I've got? Absolutely."

He raised a brow but said nothing.

You grinned and leaned back on your arms. "So we're just winging it, huh?"

"That's how most great stories start."

You chuckled. "I'm gonna pretend that's reassuring."

A Little Later...

You were wandering around, hands behind your back, humming a random tune when you spotted a familiar mist-colored head under the sakura tree.

"Muichiro!"

He blinked and looked your way. "Huh? Who are you again?"

Your eye twitched. "Y/N..."

"Doesn't ring a bell."

You sighed. "Cool. Maybe we can be friends?"

"Friends?" he tilted his head. "Why would I be friends with someone like you?"

"Because I'm cool, hot, hilarious-obviously."

He blinked again. "Mm... No. You're not."

"I am."

"...No."

"YES."

He stared at you for a moment. "...Alright. We can be friends."

"HA-wait, really?"

"Sure," he said nonchalantly. "But I probably still won't remember you."

You rolled your eyes and pulled something from your pocket-a silver ring with your name carved inside.

"What's this?" he asked.

"A ring. So you do remember me."

"Are you proposing to me?"

"What-NO!"

"Then why are you giving me this?"

You held it out. "Because you're gonna forget again in like... five minutes. At least now you'll have proof I exist."

He stared at it for a second before slowly slipping it onto his finger. "...Fine."

"Yay. I'm unforgettable now. Kind of."

He gave a little nod and turned to walk away. "See you around... or not."

You grinned after him. "You will just Don't lose it."

"No promises." He turned the ring on his finger, eyes softening for a moment. "...It's kinda nice though."

"What? Getting gifts from random weirdos like me?" you teased.

He glanced at you. "You're not that random. Or that weird."

You gasped dramatically. "Is that... growth I hear? Muichiro complimenting me?"

"It's not a compliment. Just an observation."

"Sure. And I'm not the most iconic person you've met."

"I've met demons more memorable."

You clutched your chest like he just stabbed you. "You wound me, Mist Man."

"...Mist Man?"

"That's your nickname now. Congrats."

He looked unamused. "I don't need a nickname."

"Well, too bad. You've got one."

Muichiro sighed, almost smiling. "You talk too much."

"You think too little."

He stared at you, lips twitching slightly. "...You're kind of annoying."

"And yet, you're still sitting here."

He didn't reply. Instead, he looked down at the ring again.

"...I'll try to remember."

You blinked. That... sounded surprisingly sincere.

You gave him a soft smile. "I'll take that."

"Good." He stood up slowly and dusted off his uniform. "Don't get yourself killed tomorrow."

"I could say the same to you, but you probably wouldn't remember dying either."

"Exactly."

You both laughed-yours louder, his barely audible but it felt good. Real.

As he began walking away, you called after him, "Hey, Mist Man!"

He turned back slightly.

"If you do forget me again, I'll just annoy you until you remember."

Muichiro gave the faintest nod. "Can't wait."

And then he left. Just like that.

Absolutely! Here's that same scene with a little Yoriichi moment added at the end - something subtle but meaningful:

As he turned to walk away, you noticed Yoriichi standing quietly a little ways off. His gaze was soft, almost unreadable, but there was something warm in his eyes as they met yours.

He took a small step forward, then stopped, as if unsure.

Finally, he spoke in his calm, gentle voice,
"Be careful out there, dear. Your spirit shines brighter than most."

You felt a flutter in your chest, a quiet comfort in his words.

You gave him a small nod.
"Thank you, Yoriichi. I'll do my best."

He gave you a faint smile and turned to leave, but you could feel the weight of his quiet support lingering with you.
