The week with Sanemi had come to an end.
You stood dramatically at the gate of his estate, throwing your arms up like you were in a soap opera.
"My pookie... I'll miss you sooo much," you whined with sparkly eyes.
Sanemi didn't even look at you. Arms crossed, face unreadable.
"Tch. Don't get soft now. I'm not your damn boyfriend."
You blinked at him, pretending to be wounded. "You wound me, my sweet tsundere."
"..."
You tilted your head. "So... you'll come visit?"
"Hmph. Don't count on it."
You pouted but started walking off anyway, waving dramatically over your shoulder. He still didn't wave back.
But even after the door slammed shut, Sanemi stood there, scowling at the empty road.
'Why does it feel weird watching her leave...? Whatever. She talks too much anyway.'
Later, walking down the path with your bag over your shoulder, Yoriichi appeared beside you like a ninja ghost.
"Yoriichiiii~" you grinned. "I have a fantastic idea."
Yoriichi narrowed his eyes. "...Why do I feel dread?"
You clapped your hands together with a goofy smile. "I'm gonna fix Genya and Sanemi's relationship."
"You're going to what."
"Don't worry, I have it all planned."
"...You terrify me sometimes."
"Aww, thank you~ 🥰"
You skipped straight past Obanai's estate and headed for the Butterfly Mansion. You knew Genya would be there for a checkup.
You burst in like a one-person marching band.
"I'm BACK, babies!"
The trio of boys-Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke-froze mid-pose from training.
"Y/N-CHAN! ANGEL-CHAN! WELCOME BACKKK!" Zenitsu ran at you, full force.
You sidestepped like a dodgeball champ and he faceplanted. "Sorry Zenitsu, maybe after a shower."
"MINION! YOU CAME TO SEE YOUR MASTER??" Inosuke shouted.
"Actually... I'm looking for Genya."
"WHO? THE BUFF DUDE WALKING DOWN THE HALL?!" Inosuke shouted again.
"...Yes, him."
Tanjiro smiled but his aura said something else. "He's in the infirmary..."
'Why is she looking for him? She doesn't like him, right? Right?? Tanjiro stop. Stop thinking.'
You walked casually into the infirmary. Shinobu looked up and smiled.
"Y/N-san! What a surprise."
And there he was-Genya, frozen stiff and blushing like crazy.
"Uhh-h-hi..."
"Genya, this is Y/N," Shinobu said with her usual calm smile. "Y/N, this is Genya."
"Nice to meet you!" you said cheerfully.
Genya tried to make eye contact, failed, and looked at the ceiling instead.
"Shinobu? Can I borrow him? Just a sec."
Shinobu nodded. "Go ahead."
You grabbed Genya by the ear and dragged him into the hallway like you owned him.
Outside the infirmary:
"Genyaaaa can you do me a teeny tiny favor even though we don't really know each other that well? ?"
"I-I guess?"
"Can you meet me at Obanai's estate tomorrow at 3PM sharp?"
"S-sure... I-I don't mind..."
"Thanks, pookie 😘✨"
And just like that-you vanished.
On your way back toward Obanai's estate, Yoriichi floated beside you, arms crossed like a grumpy dad.
"So. You're not actually meeting Genya tomorrow."
"Nope. Sanemi's coming too."
"...You are going to start a war."
"Nahhh... just reuniting a broken brotherhood~ 😇"
"You're going to die."
"Maybe. But I'll die iconically."
