After the checkup, you walked out of Shinobu’s office and saw the whole squad waiting like a bunch of excited puppies.
Zenitsu jumped up first.
“Y/N-CHAN!! You’re alive!! I was gonna storm Sanemi’s house if you didn’t come back!!”
You blinked. “...Okay, drama queen.”
“I brought you flowers!” he held out a bunch of half-squished wildflowers.
“Aww thanks, Zenny.” You ruffled his hair.
Tanjiro stepped up next, holding a cute little bento box.
“I made you lunch, Y/N-san… I-I wanted to surprise you.”
“YOU’RE SO SWEET, WHAT THE HECK.” You squished his cheeks gently. “10/10. Husband material.”
Tanjiro blushed bright red.
“MINION!!” Inosuke yelled from the tree branch he was chilling on. “I’M GLAD YOU DIDN’T DIE!”
“Thanks???”
“I BROUGHT YOU THIS COOL ROCK I FOUND.”
He held up a regular-looking pebble with way too much pride.
“Wow… that’s… very rock-y of you.”
You looked over and saw Kanao standing quietly, looking a little shy.
She walked up slowly.
“Y/N-san… I’m really happy you’re okay.”
Then she held out a tiny bouquet of soft flowers she picked herself.
You melted.
“KANAO MY QUEEN.”
You hugged her immediately, and she hugged back gently.
The three little sisters—Sumi, Kiyo, and Naho—ran up and joined in too.
“Y/N-SAAAAAAN!!! We missed you!!!”
“Please stay longer next time!!!”
“Awwww my babies,” you said, giving them all a group hug.
Then you heard footsteps.
“Y/N,” Shinobu called. “Don’t forget. You still need to rest today, and no dating fights in the yard.”
You looked back and saw the boys literally bickering over who you liked the most.
“She smiled more at me!!”
“No, she said I’m husband material!!”
“She took MY rock!!!”
You blinked.
“I’m one girl. Calm down. No dating battle royale today.”
...
After the picnic ended, the sun had started to dip below the horizon, casting an orange glow across the sky. You were walking back to the Butterfly Mansion with crumbs on your clothes and grass stuck to your socks.
“That was actually… fun,” Inosuke mumbled, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.
You turned to him. “What’s this? Boar boy has emotions?”
“I DO NOT—SHUT UP!”
Zenitsu clung to your arm like a koala. “Let’s do this again soon! But like… just the two of us next time?”
“Delulu behavior,” you muttered under your breath.
Tanjiro walked beside you, quiet for a moment, before he softly said, “It made me really happy to spend the day with you, Y/N.”
You glanced up at him and smiled. “You’re so soft. I’m gonna cry.”
“Eh? Don’t cry!” he panicked.
“No, like, in a cute way! I just… I missed you guys.”
The group paused in front of the Butterfly Mansion gates.
“Come visit again soon,” Kanao said quietly, looking down but smiling gently.
“I will. Promise.”
You turned to wave goodbye to all of them.
Zenitsu was bawling.
Inosuke grumbled something about “emotions being dumb.”
Tanjiro just kept smiling with that warm, boy-next-door face that made your heart flutter.
Suddenly you stomach grumbled LOUDLY
everyone looked at you and face palmed
"opps I'm hungry mb gng"
After that Shinobu requested you joining them for dinner and you obviously agreed
