A few weeks later, Giyuu got promoted as a pillar, the first person he approached was you,"Thank you for making me reach this position, and saving me that night."
"You're welcome." After the greeting, you didn't want to stay for the celebration and simply gave him a gift.
The next day, You decided to meet Giyuu in the butterfly estate, Since he's still recovering and the mansion he would be inheriting as a water pillar was still in progress of cleaning and renovating things that needs to be renovated.
walking through the hallway, you heard some screams in the medic's center, curious─you walked towards the center, when you were about to open it, it suddenly opened, as you were standing there a man bumped into your stomach.
Looking at each other, the two of you blinked.
"Sanemi...!?"
"Y/n?!"
"What're you doing here?!"
"You know each other?" Kanae appears apparently she was just behind him.
"We're childhood friends!" responding to Kanae, you pulled Sanemi to a hug,"It's so nice to see you again!" you were so delighted to see him again but Kanae wasn't so fond of it.
letting go of the hug, Sanemi asks with a faint blush on his face and a smile,"Why are you here though?"
"I'm here to avenge my family." saying it so casually, Sanemi's expression glooms.
"Avenge? What happened?"
"My family got murdered by demons like two years ago...how is yours doing?" not fading your smile away, your hand tighten around his.
"We're the same, But it's fine I got Genya." your heart warms to see such his gentle side again.
"That's wonderful to hear, is Genya also here?"
"No, He's staying at our aunt's house, How are you?" questioning you as he softly pinches your cheek.
grasping at his wrist,"Grateful, very grateful to know you're here and Genya." you felt safe in his hand, feeling the feeling you've been missing for so long after going through hard time.
"You two have split personalities?" Kanae tilted her head, her hair falls getting close behind Sanemi's back eventually making Sanemi back away from the fluster.
"He's basically the best friend I have." you're speaking to her about him so proudly, forgetting about the incident she did to you a few months ago.
out of blue the door slides open,"Kanae-sama! I─Uh, Good morning lady Fujita!" the Kakushi's face turned red soon as she made eye contact with you, "By-By the way, Kanae-sama...the new patient needs your attention."
"Oh, Okay──I'll be back you two don't have too much fun!" patting your shoulder, she left with the Kakushi
gazing to your Katana, he recognized it immediately,"From that Katana...That's the moon pillar's design!" laughing at his reaction.
"I'm the moon hashira, silly!" showing him your Katana's kashira and the saya.
"What?! really?"
"Yes!"
"That's great to hear! you've come so far." staring at you with pure admiration.
looking up and down at him, he seems to had a few bandaged parts,"What happened? Did you got into a mission?"
"Yeah actually, I got this mission of a lower moon a few weeks ago, I'm still recovering from it." slightly gasping with your hands covered on your mouth.
"You're a pillar?!" jumping to embrace him again, "Congratulations!"
"It's still not settled though, but yeah I'm becoming one of the pillars!" after a few conversations with him, you finally get to arrive at Giyuu's dorm.
knocking on his door,"It's me Fujita, may I come in?" receiving a yes, you entered with a smile to which Giyuu was surprised to see, "How've you been?" were you happy to see him? is what he assumed.
"Uhm, yeah, what drops you here?" scratching his neck as his ears became red, seeing a couple fruits on the basket you were carrying, you placed it down at his night stand.
"I just wanted to see how you're doing, plus I couldn't celebrate the celebration properly, So how about a stroll in the city later?" a moment of silence, you adds your sentence,"just in Hatashi district, my treat if you want something."
"Just...just the two of us?"
humming in response,"I mean you're doing well now, aren't you?"giving him a sincere smile, his heart came racing so fast from your sweet voice.
"Yeah, I guess...what are we going to do?"
"Eat, buy anything you would like of course," saying it with a grin, he cleared his throat and brushes his knuckles to his cheek trying to make his flush fade, "We can reschedule if you want..?"
"Later evening is the best time."
a few hours later, you dressed yourself up with a nice kimono, you're not dressing up for anyone, it happens that you haven't worn kimonos for thirteen months now, tinting your lips a bit red, you took out your mother's hairpin and wore it, blankly staring at yourself in the mirror, you could remember your mother's touch whenever she style your hair.
taking a small dagger from your drawer, you took your purse and thanked Kimaki for assisting you, hopping your way in the buildings, you managed to spot Giyuu through the crowds, landing your way gracefully, you tapped his shoulder, "I apologize for being late." as he turned around, his eyes widen to see you.
"You look nice this evening." feeling his cheeks flush from your beauty, you pursed your lips and avoided his eyes.
"Let's start shall we?" beginning to walk, he carefully watches and follow you, a few minutes later it was quiet between the two of you, but it wasn't awkward nor comforting, it was just how it is.
while walking, Giyuu's attention was caught by a Dango vendor, "Fujita-san, let's try dango." gently taking your kimono's sleeve like a kid, he pulls you to the vendor.
"Two serves please." paying the vendor, the two of you watched the man coat it with melted sugar, handing the two stick to Giyuu, Giyuu took a bite from his stick.
blinking a few times as the two of you stares at each other, "Aren't you going to take this?" raising his hand a bit more, you shook your head.
"I'm fine, I want something sour," flattering your lashes, you saw a familiar shop name, "How about we check that candy shop?" pointing at the store, Giyuu obliged.
upon entering the store, it was almost empty just the cashier was on the shop, taking a few check on the sour section, you saw your favorite sour candy, putting a few scoops to the paper bag you proceeded to the counter, Giyuu wasn't that fond of candies so he just waited for you in the door eating the dango.
after paying, you took one candy and immediately reacted to it, seeing your reaction Giyuu snorted, "Do you like sour candies, Fujita-san?"
"I wouldn't go buy this if I don't like this don't I?" sarcastically replying at him, he just hums understanding your statement, "Anyway, do you want anything to wash out that sweetness?"
"I didn't bring my wallet with me." patting his kimono, his chest was slightly exposed, closing your eyes with a deep inhale, you turned to another direction.
"I told you it's my treat." beginning to walk away, Giyuu hurriedly followed behind you then asking if it's really fine.
