Refulgent Rain

"Burst Finish! Requiem Spryzen with two points! Red Eye is the winner!"
As the referee said that, Valt suddenly feel all of his energy fade away as he fall to his knees on the cold concrete floor.
The world seems to slow down from his perspective as the loud cheers in the people become unclear until they all disappear.
This match is very important! Everything is on the line: his dream, his best friend, and the fate of the blading world
But He lost. He failed anyone. He let them down
He looks over at his friends and family to see that there are still over there but with sad faces and disappointed looks as they stare away and one by one, they faded away like a smoke
He gulps harshly as his eyes wander around as he falls on his bey that was laying in the stadium in three pieces.
"So pathetic"
A cold voice laced with visible disgust made his heart stop beating for a second as he looks above to see a tall figure with silvery white hair and glowing crimson eyes that menacing through
His childhood friend, rival, and best friend: Shu Kurenai sadly become Red Eye and is now posses by Spryzen...is now looking at him as if he's a stranger
He misses those, warm eyes that may look fierce but are soft...
And now he failed to save his best friend
Red Eye starts to walk away, leaving him behind as he starts to fade away too, leaving him all alone
Then the scenery change and Valt look around to see the world full of chaos-

Valt Aoi jolted up on his bed and clutch his blanket tightly
That dream- No nightmare! almost looks real! And it scares him
Valt tries to take a deep breath to calm down himself but to no avail, as his heart starts to beat faster seems to echo on his eardrums, and many beads of sweat start running down on forehead - He's hyperventilating now
Closing his eyes then punch his chest hoping it will ease. It seems to work a little although there is still another case
His hands are shaking terribly- no his whole body is uncontrollably shaking as his panic attack are reaching new levels
Even though his mind is full of mess with curse images flashing clearly in his eyes that send stab of hurt to his heart every millisecond he remembers exactly what he dreams - he takes a deep breath to fight down the familiar vulnerable feeling
It takes him minutes to get everything in control and things start to get clear
He's afraid, scared, terrified and other similar synonyms start to hit him as he gets a picture of himself being a coward
And as a coward. He ran away

This night, he makes the dumbest thing in his life
Who in the right mind would run away in the middle of the night when he has an important match tomorrow and he's supposed to be sleeping right now??
But he had already gotten too far, and his feet feel so dumb so he looks around luckily he found a nearby bench and decide to take a sit
He takes a deep breath and slumps his back on the cold wooden planks of the bench and lets his body relax
The cold breeze of the night make him shiver a bit he ignore it as he look over the dark sky hoping to see beautiful stars but unfortunately the sky is just like a dark void
He sighs disappointedly but then he suddenly senses a liquid falling on his face
Confusion colored his face until he realized it was starting to rain down
A refuel smile stretched on his lips as he let the cold rain pour over him - not minding his clothes getting wet - instead, he savors this moment
A surge of memory flashes down in his mind: BC Sol, Snake Pit, Red Eye, and Tournament! Everything is just too much!
A moment of weakness passes over him and he can't take it anymore with the last push on the edge... he let himself breakdown as his tears start to fall to let out all the heavy feelings clouding his heart
He's really lucky that it's raining cause no one would see his tears and how pathetic is he
He continues in that state for who knows how long until-
"Crying in the rain is nice cause no one will see you in a vulnerable state and it will wash away your dark thoughts but don't forget you can catch sickness too if you stay too long"
Valt's heart almost skip a beat when someone spoke. He gulps and looks up only to find himself astonished at what he's seeing
Dazzling cerulean light glow flicker around him that pulse like a dancing wave that reflects like a mirror in the raindrops that make them look like diamonds glimmering around. It was good scenery that make him comfortable and admire the beauty of the rain
But what caught his attention is the eyes of the guy standing in front of him.
Those mystical glowing blue eyes give him a mysterious feeling he can't describe
He blinks and starts to observe the guy in front of him. He looks like he's taller than him a little, he's wearing a black hoodie and black long pants, he can't thoroughly see his face because he has a black mask on his face and he's not sure either if his hair is black or cobalt
"Here take this"
The unknown guy bring out an umbrella and handed it to Valt which make him shock
"W-wait-" Valt choke on his own words and realized that his throat is hurt from the previous breakdown. The unknown guy hush him as he brings out another item and a towel
Valt wants to protest to make him stop draining his hair but the mysterious guy insists and keeps doing his work
"Take it easy, don't worry I won't hurt you" He assured which make Valt let his down guard when for some reason it feels like he was a trustable person so he let him ruffle his hair and secretly enjoyed it.
They stay in that state with the hoodie guy keeping his work and silently and Valt can feel himself melt and comfortable
"You're Valt Aoi right?" The guy asks and Valt takes a moment before nodding and thinking how famous is he but his hair is down makes him look like another person... or maybe his red marks give it away
"You look stressed, is it the big match for tomorrow," he ask slowly
Valt gulps harshly and bites his lower lip
"Are you scared to lose?"
Valt nod and secretly questions himself why this guy know too much
"If you ask me, I believe you already had all the things you need to win but the only thing missing is to believe yourself"
"B-believe my s-self?" he asks in confusion as his eyes widen in surprise at the realization git over him and look up at the hoodie guy in disbelief
"Y-you r-really t-think I c-could win?" He shuttered and ask desperately
"Yeah of course! I believe in you just don't forget to have fun!" The guy says cheerfully and that gives Valt a new source of encouragement
"I believe you too, Valt"
Valt gasped when Valkyrie spoke as she appear on his side putting her hands on his shoulder to give him full assurance and all the dark thoughts and doubts washed away
He smiles softly "Thank you very much, everyone"
And with that, he goes back and sleeps peacefully ready to face all the things tomorrow

"Burst Finish! Strike Valkyrie with 2 points! Valt Aoi is the winner"
Valt can feel his body fall back to the cold floor but he didn't mind it as he still catching up his breath
He won! He pulled it off. It feels like a dream!
Valt can't contain the euphoria feeling as he stands up and walks over to his best friend
He held his hand to him the utmost shock of his albino friend that look over him as lost
Valt't heart clenched when he see his dear friend in that state so he smiles brightly to welcome him warmly
"So dude wanna keep battling" he grins and Shu's crimson eyes widen in surprise and Valt takes a note of the not-so-visible tears that form behind his eyes
Finally, with the cheers and encouragement of the beyclub. Shu finally smile in happiness as he held Valt's hand and Valt help him to get up and hold his hand tightly
'Shu won't suffer anymore, I'll make sure of it' Valt thought making a silent promise and smile
Then he looks over the crowd to spot his family and friends cheering happily which makes his heart flutter
'This is like a dream...but it's the reality he thought solemnly and with clear relief that what happen in his nightmare become the complete opposite

The day went fast with him being crowned the champion
"We did it Valkyrie! I owe everything to you" Valt says gratefully to his partner who twinkles in response
But other than his partner, his family and friends are there too to cheer and encourage him up make him fully motivated
But he won't also forget the mysterious hoodie guy
Just thinking about him makes him clutch the umbrella and start thinking about how could he bring it back to him but other than that
And there is still one question that remains
He wonders, who is the guy he meets in the refulgent rain.
