Curiosity_Naivety

Midterm break was right around the corner, and Kilian was ready for a nice long break from having to see Becky, Anya, and Luka.

It was the end of the day, and he was so damn close to freedom, but he decided to give Diona a quick visit.

It wasn't like she'd be going anywhere, and she'd be all lonely by herself in an empty classroom for the entirety of the vacation. She'd done a lot to help Kilian, so he figured he'd show some sort of appreciation.

The little boy opened the door to the room and called out in a hushed time, "Diona...! Are you awake?"

Did plants even sleep.

"Kilian, come on in!" the plant chimed and the boy wandered over to where the Venus fly trap was set atop a desk, "Isn't the school day over? I figured you'd be gone by now."

"Well, yes, but I wanted to bring you something."
Kilian said simply as he dug around in his bag before pulling out some small cookies wrapped up in a cloth, "My Aunt helped me make these. I wanted to give them to you."

The venus fly trap was silent.

"Dead🍑?"

"Huh."

"I mean are you serious."

Kilian nodded before setting the cookies down by the plant, leaving the cloth open so the plant would have easier access to the sweet treats, "I dunno how you'll eat them, but enjoy."

"You want something, don't you?" the plant asked in a suspicious tone and Kilian nodded again.

"I just have a question." Kilian admitted, "My Auntie has been acting strange these past few days."

"After that phone call she received from Lawrence, eh? No worries, kid, I already know." Diona said dismissively, "Your Aunt found out who killed your father, that's all."

"She did?!" Kilian demanded, eyes wide, "Who? Who was it? What's my Aunt going to do next?!"

Diona hesitated, "I don't know if I should tell you..."

"If it's super bad, I don't care, I can handle it!" Kilian assured the plant, desperation creeping into his voice, "Please!"

"Mmrgh..." the plant shifted a little, "...Yor."

Kilian blinked, "Miss Yor?"

"Laurence, your Aunt's right hand pal, called her a couple of evenings ago to inform her that Yor Forger was the one who killed your old man." Diona stated, "He dug up everything, and I mean everything. Him, your Mother, and Elena now know about as much as I do."

Kilian looked down, his mind fuzzy as he tried to process the words the plant had just spoken.

Yor. Aunt Yor.

Killed his father?

Something wasn't right here.

Yes, Yor was an assassin, but Diona never out right confirmed that Achille's murder was her doing!

Besides, Diona had mentioned the place Yor worked for. The Garden, or something. The Garden only targeted corrupt people in society, Achille did not sit in the category.

"You should probably get going, kid. You're going to be hanging out with your grandfather, yeah?"

Kilian couldn't believed this.

He ambled out of the room in a daze, and was completely silent during the trip right back home.

When he got back home, Yuri and y/n were there together already cooking in the kitchen. Kilian didn't announce his arrival, watching as the young couple stood side by side.

Y/n seemed a little livelier than before, almost as if Yuri's presence alone brought her peace and reassurance.

She was happy. So very happy.

But if she made a move and anything happened to Yor, it'd definitely hurt Yuri. And knowing y/n, seeing her husband's distress while knowing she was the cause of it would definitely tear her apart from the inside.

Their relationship would surely decline as y/n struggled with the guilt, then they'd separate and they'd definitely divorce! Yuri would be out of the picture, just like Kilian wanted!

'No.' Kilian blinked, 'No, what am I thinking? Not like this. I don't want them to part ways like this.'

'Miss Yor will definitely be killed if things are allowed to continue as they are, Auntie will suffer a lot emotionally from the guilt, and as much as I don't like Yuri, it's not fair for him to suffer the loss of a family member. I wouldn't wish that on even my greatest enemy. Besides, this whole thing about Miss Yor killing my Father doesn't seem right to me...'

'I'll get to the bottom of this. I'll make sure that their marriage doesn't fall apart. At least not because of this. If anything, Auntie will leave this dirtbag because she realizes just how much of a moron he is!' Kilian decided before taking off his shoes and stepping out from the corner with a, "I'm home."

Y/n looked back at him and her gaze immediately lit up, "Kilian! How was school today?"

"Good." Kilian replied simply before peering into the kitchen curiously, "What are you guys making?"

"Yuri here suggested that we make your favorite for dinner!" Y/n chirped, grabbing her husband by the shoulders with a grin while the young man looked away with a huff.

"Only because y/n asked!" he said quickly.

"Don't be fooled, Kil. It was all his idea."

"It was not!"

"Yeah it was! Don't try to take it back now!"

Kilian looked back and forth between the two as y/n held onto her husband, laughing as he struggled to flee the kitchen.

"Hmph." the boy turned his head away, 'I'll help you out, just this once Yuri Briar. But as soon as this is over, you're out of here!'

Kilian was not okay with this.

"B-But you guys aren't going?"

He stood at the front door with wide eyes, looking about ready to cry as Elena was gathering his luggage to move it to the car.

"Yuri has to work and I have business to take care of." y/n replied, kneeling to the boy's level and fixing his jacket, "Don't you want to spend time with Grandpa?"

'💩! This is bad... if Auntie is left on her own, she'll surely use this chance to try and confront Aunt Yor!' Kilian thought in a panic, 'I've gotta convince her to come with me!'

"I do, but..." Kilian almost cringed, "Y-You and Uncle Yuri deserve a vacation too... I'd be lonely without guys there..."

Y/n covered her mouth with one of her dazzled looks of joy while Yuri deadpanned at the boy, Kilian turning his head away to hide his scowl, 'Ugh, I can't believe I said that... I think I might actually throw up...'

"Don't worry, Kilian, it will only be a couple of days. When you come back, we can even go spend time together!" y/n chimed, pressing a kiss against the bummed out boy's forehead, "Just enjoy yourself, alright?"

"M'kay..." Kilian mumbled before ambling towards his Aunt to give her a hug, "I'll miss you guys."

Y/n returned the embrace with a little smile. Damn, the longer she held on, the less she wanted her nephew to go.

Yuri seemed to notice and gave her shoulder a little tap, "If you keep holding on, he'll end up being late."

Y/n nodded but still didn't let go.

It took ten minutes of y/n and Kilian clinging to one another while Elena and Yuri trying to pry them free before Kilian and his Nanny finally set off.

He pressed his face against the car window as he watched y/n wave goodbye to him, a small smile on her face. The more he looked, the more he could tell how strained it was eventually to the point where he could practically see the light fading from her eyes.

'💩! This is bad!'

We're going to pretend like Kilian didn't break down crying during the car ride. He cried half of the trip, before he finally collected himself and got to thinking.

'It's okay, Kilian, it's not the end of the world.' he assured himself, 'Sure, this may mark the end of Miss Yor's life, Yuri's mental stability, and Auntie's progress to a happy life but it's not the end of the world, haha—'

This did nothing to reassure him.

"Diona, nothing is going right..." Kilian whispered frantically, peering into the little backpack he brought.

The Venus fly trap inside turned towards him, "Don't panic just yet. Yor will be on the boat, so you'll have a chance to warn her at least."

"Yeah, but I don't wanna put my Aunt out there! If Miss Yor knows about who she is, it could be bad! She might tell her scoundrel of a little brother, or report her, or maybe even try to kill her!" Kilian said as quietly as he could, feeling nauseous as he strained to maintain the only thing keeping Elena from hearing the conversation.

Another illusion that was bound to give Kilian some killer stomach pains if he held it up for too long.

"Mm... how about we work from the sidelines then? You have your illusions." Diona pointed out.

"Look, I don't wanna kill anybody—"

"You won't have to." Diona replied and the plant somehow seemed to smirk, "My little menace in training, allow me to give you a little lesson."

"Lesson?" Kilian echoed. His interest was piqued.

"Yes, a lesson. Listen real close!"

Kilian managed to hold down his nausea until they reached the port where the cruise was waiting, and he immediately headed for the side of the port to keel over and throw up.

As Elena removed the luggage from the car, she gave the boy a worried look, 'Does Kilian get car sick? That can't be good... especially if we're going to be on a cruise for the next few days.'

"Eurgh... I dunno if I'll survive this..." Kilian mumbled, scooting back and away from the water, "Maybe I should just not go."

Elena joined the little boy, frantically checking on him as he weakly assured her that he was fine. As he was doing so, he spotted a lot of suspicious looking people...

'I'm getting a bad feeling about all this...'

Kilian's Grandfather was nowhere to be seen as the little boy and his Nanny boarded the cruise, making their way to their First Class Suite where Kilian immediately crawled onto one of the beds and laid there face down.

"Huh? Kilian? Are you tired?" Elena questioned and Kilian nodded slowly, letting out a groan from where his face was pressed into the bed, "Oh my... Mr. Alessandro should be about done with his meeting by now, so he'll be back soon. Until then, do you want to rest?"

"Yeah." Kilian mumbled before turning his head a little, "Also, Miss Elena, can I ask a favor?"

The woman nodded, "Of course!"

"I do want the chance to explore, so can you find a couple things that Grandpa and I can do tomorrow?" Kilian asked, "I was supposed to do it myself, but I'm not feeling well enough."

Elena perked up, "Yes, of course! I'll get to it right away! You stay here and rest up, alright?"

Kilian watched as the young woman gathered her things and hurried from the room with one last, "I'll be right back!"

The boy waited until his nanny closed the door before he shifted so his face was down in the bed again.

'She left without hesitation, meaning Auntie has another bodyguard somewhere around here to keep an eye on me.' Kilian thought as he closed his eyes, 'I really do want to try to get up and find Miss Yor, but I'm very tired right now.'

"Take it easy, kid." Diona whispered from where she was still tucked away in his backpack, "It's still early, and you won't have to worry about anything until tomorrow."

"You sure?"

"Mhm."

Kilian heaved a long sigh.
"I'll trust you on this one."

As the boy dozed off the little venus fly trap huffed, 'I'll have to lie to you, kid. Just this once. Can't have you dealing with any more trauma, now can I?'
