Y/n wasn't the bravest person in the world.
Certainly not the most cowardly, considering the lengths she'd go for other people, but not fearless either.
Her near constant shrieking, screaming and crying made it very easy to forget that the man who had taken her in and trained her was once a frightening member of the Shogun's Army.
The man, despite his notoriety for being a kind and friendly gentleman, was viewed as a monster on the battlefield.
It was only natural that his students, even the more skittish one of the three, would be monsters as well.
The retired samurai was known for ending battles in the blink of the eye, going for the kill with no hesitation and leaving no room for his opponent to adjust.
Y/n, despite her seemingly anti-violent disposition, clearly took that lesson to heart when he taught her.
Sara had witnessed the aftermath before.
"Any sign of them?"
"We believe they're headed for the shores of Araumi, so sent more soldiers to cut them off at Konda Village."
Sara nodded, before she turned her gaze to where a few other members of the Tenryou Commission were tending to the wounded who had once been in pursuit of the two l vision holders.
The man took notice of the tengu's expression and decided to continue, "Some will recover with time, as they didn't suffer many injuries. Although... a few lost hands and arms. Those are the lucky ones," the samurai gestured over to where a few bodies lay unattended, "The old man taught those two well."
The woman quietly thanked the samurai, issuing orders for more soldiers to be sent as backup for the first group sent to cut the duo off, before approaching the area the man had gestured too.
The area was mostly undisturbed, with the exception of a few trees that had been struck by what Sara concluded to be electro energy from a vision.
As for the bodies, there wasn't much to say.
They were dead. Dead men don't speak, so Sara couldn't exactly ask who had been the one to do this.
Even if they could tell her, she didn't have to ask.
Ayumu's cuts to the throat were treatable, if addresses in time. He left the possibility of survival, even if the possibility itself was about as slim as a twig.
Y/n, as surprising as it was, didn't give her enemies that chance. Quick and painless, but no coming back.
The aftermath. It was only the aftermath which Sara had seen. Although, it didn't seem as though she'd be seeing the actual process this time.
"EEK! Haiyang, do something!" y/n wailed, diving out of the way of the many rolling spikes of ice tearing through the floor as the Harbinger used her cryo delusion's power to keep her enemies at a distance.
The God didn't reply, blades of hydro knocking the floating icicles off course to strike the wall instead of his terrified human.
They weren't having much luck in getting close to her, not with that cold 🍑 barrier of ice she kept around her at all times. Haiyang couldn't just summoned a vortex to shred her to pieces, but he didn't want to risk it with Aether and Ayumu still in that domain within the puppet's sword.
Not because he liked them.
He couldn't care less if they died.
But y/n would definitely care.
Therefore... those two dying wasn't an option.
'This Harbinger lady isn't joking around, though. The Tengu is holding her own well enough, but some attacks still might have gotten through if I hadn't been paying attention,' Haiyang noted, "Hey. Tengu."
Sara gave Haiyang a brief glance to which the God uttered a quiet, "I need you to do something for me."
'You're the last person I'd want to do anything for.' Sara thought, her expression bitter, but she internally waved away the thought, "If it involves putting the Shogun at risk, I refuse."
"Don't worry, your brat of an Archon will be fine. All I need you to do is keep this one out of the way." Haiyang replied, gesturing to the trembling y/n who ceased her shaking to give him a blank look.
"Excuse me?"
"I'm growing tired of this. I'll eliminate the troublesome General first." Signora sneered, snapping her fingers. The weird, twirling catalyst thing by her side trembled, and y/n felt wayyy colder than before.
She got the idea to look up and her heart dropped to her pelvis at the sight of a big 🍑 ice sword poised to fall on her.
Y/n was quick to dart out the way, and the icy floor beneath her caused her skid around a little bit uncontrollably, "💩!"
After a little fumbling, her feet went up and her back went down as she fell on her damned back like a complete moron.
She was given little time to rest as one of this stupid ice wheels began rolling towards her, boutta give her the same treatment Sukuna gave Gojo *im sorry*.
Sara wasn't having it, grabbing y/n by the arm and dragging her out of the way before she got sawed in half, "Come on, get up!"
Y/n was quick to obey, scrambling to her feet despite her sluggish movement due to the cold.
"You said you were targeting Sara, why the hell are you after me?!" y/n shrieked, somehow letting out an even higher pitched scream when ice spikes emerged from the thicker patch of ice in the ground.
In between the gleaming spikes of cryo, she could see the Harbinger's smirk, "I meant what I said, dear" DEAR?! "I knew the moment the weakest link was put in jeopardy, the General would be the first to run to her aid."
Weakest link? DAMN!
Still, y/n was rather unnerved by her words. The blood staining the icicles even made her heart skip a beat.
While y/n had merely been scraped by the sharp spears of ice, Sara was so lucky, one of them having caught her in the back.
Holy 💩, there was blood—
"Sara... Sara, you're hurt-!" y/n began.
"I'm fine, stay focused!" Sara ordered, her tone sharp. She pulled out a tantō, where tf did she get that from, and easily cut through the big ice murder stick that'd stabbed her in the back.
Despite having just gotten stabbed in the 🚚ing back with cold 🍑 ice, Sara was hardly fazed as she loaded another arrow into her bow and fired at the Harbinger ♀🐶.
Signora merely swatted it, but it burst violently with electro energy. You know elemental reaction. Superconduct effectively rendered her little ice shield useless.
The Harbinger jolted, a little surprised by the unpleasant surprised, and gave the two electro vision wielders a glare, "You insolent little!"
The woman stopped when she noticed little torrents of water swirling on the ground near her feet, and she instantly remembered that there were three individuals she was up against. Tsk, tsk, a rookie mistake.
Signora whipped around, but Haiyang had already gotten close. There was a satisfied sneer on his face, his blue eyes glowing fiercely.
"Gotcha."
Y/n screeched when a big 🍑 pillar of water surged up in the middle of the room, enveloping both Haiyang and Signora as well as bake it f a hole through the roof of the building.
She was screaming, and kept screaming even as Sara grabbed her to shield her body with her own from the flying shards of ice, knocking the both of them to the floor so they were mostly out of the splash zone.
Outside Tenshukaku, a battle was raging between the members of the Shogun's Army whom had been mobilized last minute to respond to an ambush from the Resistance.
The raging vortex which busted a hole through the roof of Tenshukaku, extending high up into the sky brought the battle to a halt as they all gawked at the whirlpool sensing debris flying.
Kazuha, who was amongst the many Resistance members fighting, had his attention drawn for a different reason. In between the roar of rushing water, he could hear a familiar shrill screaming.
"Y/n." the ronin didn't waste another moment, sweeping his momentarily distracted opponent's feet out from under him and causing the dumb🍑 to kncok his own 🍑 out on a rock while Kazuha took off towards Tenshukaku as the battle behind him began once more.
Back at Tenshukaku, the vortex dissipated just as quickly as it came. And out stumbled Signora, looking like Gojo was when Sukuna hit him with his domain.
The Harbinger dropped to the ground, gasping as she crawled away from Haiyang who calmly strolled after her. Signora's body was marred with countless cuts, each oozing with what looked like liquid fire.
Y/n and Sara were huddled in a corner, watching on while y/n peeked over Sara's wings to get a better look. Her gaze darted from Signora to Haiyang.
Once again... this man had her questioning her decision to even associate with him in the first place.
His gaze was cold despite the amused little sneer on his face, the kind of look a kid would wear while burning ants with a magnifying glass or something.
"Harbinger, vision holder, common folk. Doesn't matter. All humans will eventually find themselves crawling upon the ground like the insignificant worms they are." the God murmured with a shake of his head, "But you, despite being reduced to this, still have a fire in your eyes."
Signora did, quite literally, have a flame burning in her concealed eye. It was actually burning away the mask obscuring the right side of her face as she stared back at Haiyang with wide eyes, the expression of a cornered animal filled with fear and fury.
Haiyang regarded her for a moment and clicked his tongue in annoyance, "It's rather disgusting." his polearm materialized in his hand as he prepared to finish her off, "I'll enjoy snuffing it out, witch."
"Don't call me that..." Signora whispered.
The God raised a brow, "Hm?"
The fire began burning away more and more of the woman's mask, and the many gashes and lacerations across her body which had oozed liquid fire began to blaze.
The Harbinger's eyes were wild, unfocused as her gaze snapped right back up to Haiyang who tensed.
"Don't call me a witch...!"
"Tch, persistent rodent!" Haiyang snapped.
Y/n screamed again when a sudden burst of heat surged throughout the entire room, so hot that it felt like her skin was going to melt off. A wave of fire came next, tearing through the floors and walls as it neared Sara and y/n.
The Tengu General hugged y/n closer, her wings shielding the e/c eyed woman, though the fire never reached them, a wall of water surging up from the ground to block the wave of fire.
Upon realizing that they were *probably* safe, the two glanced at each other and shuffled away from one another awkwardly before turning their gazes to the flickering flames on the other end of the wall of hydro.
The sudden wave of fire may have not reached y/n and Sara, but it did knock the doors of Tenshukaku off their hinges and let out sudden blast of scorching fire out into the evening air.
The doors damn near knocked Kazuha upside his head, but he had nature hacks so he knew it was coming.
He ascended the steps of Tenshukaku in a hurry, grimacing at the heat radiating from within the building, but forced himself to enter the room enveloped in a dark haze of smoke.
Within the haze, Haiyang waved some of it away and coughed lightly. Eugh... what a horrible smell.
Signora had transformed into this strange... fire moth bug thing. Idfk man, she did a Dan Heng but with fire.
Haiyang, despite getting heat blasted, started laughing, "Oh my! Wielding cryo and pyro, eh?" his amused expression faded, a far colder one replacing it as his tone lowered, "You should've stayed in your first phase, ♀🐶."
"Keep talking while you still have your tongue, you filthy reptile." REPTILE?! "When I'm done with you, you'll wish you'd never slithered out of Guyun Stone Forest!" the great moth-like wings upon Signora's back flared as a long whip of flickering flames materialized into her hand.
Haiyang didn't laugh this time as his he prepared to fight once more, "Y/n. Tengu. Are you alright to fight?"
The wall of water he'd summoned to protect the two had fallen, allowing the duo to leave the corner of the room.
Y/n, anxiously holding onto her speed, only managed a small nod and a, "I'll do my best to help, Haiyang!"
Sara only hummed, though she handed at y/n and only spoke then. "I've got your back, so don't be afraid."
Haiyang watched the two and rolled his eyes, before glancing towards the entrance of Tenshukaku where Kazuha stood. "Ah. Another guest."
Y/n peered last Sara and her eyes lit ok at the sight of the ronin, "Kazuha! Thank goodness you're here!"
"It seems as though you all have been busy, I apologize for not getting here sooner." Kazuha said as he approached as well, standing beside y/n as he unsheathes his sword, "I hope I'm not too late."
"Nope! You're right in time!" y/n chimed before turning to face this fire thing in front of her, 'Haiyang, Sara, and Kazuha are all here with me. I've got nothing to fear right now!'
And then... that horrible sound.
Y/n's heart dropped to her buttcheek this time as she looked past Signora and saw that the 🚚ing puppet was functional again, eyes opening and that horrifying emotionless look on her face.
"Haiyang... she's back!" y/n squealed.
"What?" the god demanded, "Damn it, what the hell are those two moron up to? They were supposed to handle her!"
Haiyang, dear, not everyone is a god like you who can solo a whole archon. Especially not little Aether and Ayumu.
(Haiyang when Signora just exists: )
