Y/n probably could've freed herself.

The two Tenryou Commission idiots who stood beside her did a crappy job at binding her wrists.

Even Ayumu was better at tying knots.

...

Don't question it.

Y/n's heart was racing in her chest and she wished she could just shut off her god-level hearing since the folks gathered nearby were whispering.

Couldn't they just get it over with?

The sky looked as though it would open up and start raining at any moment.

...okay but the Shogun was lookin fine.

Meanwhile, Aether and Haiyang had just arrived. The duo pushed through the crowd to see what was happening while Paimon just flew on over.

"There she is!" Paimon exclaimed, pointing to y/n down below.

"What type of sick 💩 is this?" Haiyang wondered aloud, brows furrowed, "I'm starting to dislike the Electro Archon more and more. She seems like an 🚚hole."

Aether looked done with everything, "Right? What type of Archon does this 💩 to her people? If she'd just end this stupid Vision Hunt, I'd be able to find Lumine quicker, goddammit."

Haiyang glanced at Aether, "Have you tried the Abyss yet? That might work."

"Stfu, we're here to rescue y/n."

As Aether turned around, the hot Archon finally stopped staring at the damn Statue and looked at y/n instead.

Aether could practically hear y/n internally screeching when the Shogun extended a hand and the Vision at y/n's side began to tremble slightly.

It was a moment before the Vision finally went flying towards the Shogun's outstretched hands.

And so, to avoid all the screaming that would likely be a result of the loss of y/n's Vision, Aether leapt from the crowd and snatched the Electro Vision out of the air.

"Aether!" y/n shouted, surprised by his sudden appearance but still delighted.

Surprise flashed across the Shogun's once stoic features. The two idiots beside y/n were also surprised which allowed her to knock their feet out from under them.

She hecking landed on her back and was pretty sure her spine cracked but wasted no time pulling against the rope around her wrists.

Due to the crappy job the guards did, y/n was able to break the damn ropes.

Her own strength surprised her sometimes but she scooped up the spear of one of the fallen guards.

She wasn't good with spears but still had some experience so this weapon was much better than none.

She didn't know why she thought she could fight but any confidence she had died when the Shogun approached the duo, walking on nothing but Electro energy.

Oh hell no-

"A being capable of using elemental energy without a vision. You are an exception, it appears." the Shogun's voice sent shivers down y/n's spine as the Archon stood before the duo.

"Exceptions... the enemy of Eternity."

"You've gotta be 🚚ing kidding me." y/n groaned and let out a frightened shriek when the woman pulled a whole blade out of her chest, 'WHAT AM I EVEN LOOKING AT?!!!!'

Haiyang, of course, sensed the danger and jumped down from where everyone else was watching the drama happen.

"Y/n! Aether!" he shouted, running towards the two of them, "Move, you idiots!"

Haiyang managed to snatch y/n out the way but missed Aether, the blond getting Domain Expansioned in an instant.

"Huh." y/n deadpanned.

"AETHER!!!" Paimon cried and y/n felt her heart sink in her chest.

Was he dead? Was he just killed.

Holy 💩, he was just killed, wasn't he?

"GYAAAAAAAAA, SHE KILLED AETHER!!!" y/n shrieked, tears gathering in her eyes, "SHE'S GONNA KILL US TOO! WE'RE GONNA DIE, HAIYANG, WE'RE GONNA DIE!!!"

"Mm, how unfortunate." he mumbled and y/n began to shake him violently.

"WHaT dO YOU MEAN 'OH, THATS UNFORTUNATE' aEtHer Just 🚚ING DIED AAAAAA!!!!" y/n flopped to the ground and began rolling around, "WAAAAAAAGH, SHES GONNA KILL US TOO,AAHAJAHWKAJAJANA!!!"

Haiyang sighed heavily, "Calm down-"

"AAAAAAÆÆÀÅÆĂÃĄÂAĀGHHHH, I DON'T WANNA DIE TO A BOOBA SWORD!!!!"

Paimon floated over with teary eyes, "Is... is Aether gonna be okay?"

Haiyang glanced at the pixie and the shrieking y/n before turning his steel blue gaze to the Archon.

Purple eyes met blue ones as Haiyang's expression turned into one of disappointment and slight boredom.

"I have to admit, this puppet does hold an immense amount of strength." Haiyang murmured, snapping his fingers.

In an instant, a polearm materialized out of thin air and dropped into his waiting hand. Was it just y/n or did the waves crashing against the side of the island get a bit more forceful...

"But, it's still a puppet. No fun at all." Haiyang continued with a heavy sigh, "Way too easy to destroy and not much of a challenge. Since this one still poses a threat to y/n, I guess I'll have to fight."

Y/n froze when she felt a familiar presence and looked up in alarm to see... a giant danger noodle made of water.

The massive creature glowered down at the Shogun who stated back with a mild look of surprise and confusion.

Y/n couldn't blame her.

Haiyang should've been sealed again yet he wasn't. Here he was in Inazuma.

Picking a fight with an Archon.

"I see..." the Shogun murmured, gaze drifting back towards Haiyang, "You're a God, aren't you?"

Haiyang scoffed, "I see your creator didn't give you any intelligence. It should be obvious you piece of trash."

Y/n squeaked when the Shogun's gaze moved to her and raised the spear in her hands to defend herself when the Archon abruptly lunged for her, blade ready to cut her down.

However, Haiyang was quicker.

The cerulean haired man's polearm was thrusted in the blade's path, striking the side of it with a familiar noise. Had any more force been applied, the sword would've shattered.

The Shogun turned on Haiyang, almost as if she were going to attack but y/n was quick quick realize that it was to defend herself.

Out of nowhere, several blades made of water had popped up and flew on towards the Shogun, one narrowly missing her ear but sliced off a strand of hair.

The other two were deflected and the Shogun was ready attack Haiyang next only to find that he was way closer than before.

She remained calm, though he crackling of lightning cutting through the air seemed much more fierce than before as their weapons clashed once more.

Of course the idea of offering her assistance did occur to y/n. Her self preservation instincts momentarily failed when someone she felt some sort of attachment to was in danger, but the idea quickly deleted itself from her brain when she took a moment to listen.

Gods had their unique sounds.

Subtle, and unassuming when casually walking amongst humans. But, the sound became much more menacing and overwhelming the moment they faced each other in combat.

The sky rumbled, purple flashing across the dark clouds before lightning struck, splitting the earth and nearly striking y/n as she scrambled out the way with a yelp.

Haiyang raised his brows slightly as electricity rained from the sky, but he still easily weaved past the electro energy. Hydro swirled around his polearm before surging towards the puppet, easily sliced into two and sending the streams of water plunging into the base of the platform the spectators were on.

It finally occurred to the audience that they should probably run and they began to back up. Good idea, right.

"Leaving so soon?" Haiyang inquired as the people began to back up, his attention diverting to them instead, "But the show isn't over yet."

The people jolted, left frozen in place as Haiyang's cold gaze bore down on them. There was a horrifying tone to his voice that you didn't even need y/n's sharp hearing to pick up on.

"Sit down and watch."

There was a horrible, horrible rumbling as y/n glanced back at the water, watching with a mortified expression as serpents made up entirely of water emerged from the sea, glowering down at the crowd and their archon.

The puppet's brows furrowed slightly as Haiyang pointed his spear at her once more, his eyes eager.

"Come now, let's dance."

'No, please don't.' but y/n's internal pleas were *obviously* not heard as the two gods clashed once more. First, it was easy to keep up with their battles.

The Shogun on the offensive while the battle hungry Haiyang met her with just as ferocity, but the pace began to pick up. Gradually, they both began to move faster, more electricity raining from the sky and the sea serpents lunging into the fray.

Paimon seemed to be struggling to pick up, looking left and right in a panic in an attempt to keep up. Y/n wasn't having any easier of time, but she was able to catch glimpses.

An exchange of blows that tore through the side of the Shogun's clothing and sliced off a strand of Haiyang's hair.

A sea serpent that lunged for the Shogun, easily sliced in two by her sword which slashed the other serpents which followed the first.

Y/n almost missed him, but Haiyang took advantage of the Shogun's brief moment of weakness. The puppet seemed to notice his presence right as he neared and turned to attack him once more.

Seemingly out of nowhere, water droplets on the ground began to bubble up. Almost in an instant, they came together and formed a blade which sliced through the puppet's shoulder, removing her entire arm.

That singular strike decided the entire battle as Haiyang was allowed to get close enough to stab the Shogun through her gut.

The crowd gasped.

Paimon gasped.

Y/n screamed.

"As expected. Hardly a challenge." Haiyang hummed, sounding disappointed as he ripped his polearm right back out, causing the puppet to stumble back

She looked as though she were about to speak but Haiyang didn't give her the chance, twirling his weapon and striking the puppet across the face with the blunt end.

Everyone watched in horror as the puppet or whatever dropped to the ground, seemingly no longer able to function.

"Ha- Haiyang-" y/n was at a loss for words and flinched when the God glanced at her with raised brows.

The Shogun's sword, which had been dropped when her arm got removed, was picked up by Haiyang who lightly shook it.

"Hey, come on out you pathetic excuse for an Archon. Bring the brat too." Haiyang said sharply, "Otherwise, everyone on this damn island dies."

"Woah, woah, woah, Haiyang!" Paimon cried, "What're you doing?!"

Haiyang only smiled, ignoring Paimon as he continued, "A Nation which is eternal cannot exist without its people, right? I'm sure your goal would be rather difficult to obtain..."

The God's eyes landed upon the terrified group of people who had been watching, a smirk settling on his face.

"...if all of your people were slaughtered."

Y/n watched her friend, or rather the person she thought was her friend, as he strolled on up to the Statue and calmly took a seat in front of it.

"I'm waiting." he stated, tossing the sword up and down, "For every minute you fail to return the blond brat, I kill five of your people."

The crowd of people, upon hearing this, snapped out of their fearful paralysis and began to run away, earning a scoff from the very irritated Haiyang.

"Why do they always run?" Haiyang grumbled before waving his hand.

At once, the water around the entire island rose up to the sky, swirling in one giant vortex until all the people could see was water at all sides and the dim grey of the sky up high.

Y/n could only stand there, staring at Haiyang in shock as she began to wonder.

'Have I... made a mistake?'

(Yes.)
