A/N: ...Y'all gonna kill me for this one.
The thick door snapped shut behind the old pro hero. All Might, deflated and skeletal. Wearing a sagging old hero costume, like a kid wearing the clothes of their parents.
Like his legacy, it was something he could no longer fill.
But it seemed fitting, to wear the representation of his old life while visiting an old foe. His oldest enemy, the practically immortal man known as All for one.
Deep in the depths of a prison known as Tartarus. Named after the geek myths of a deep abyss that was a dungeon for the wicked. The name was fitting, and the prison lived up to the legendary standards it received.
They were an uncountable amount of stories deep underground. Hidden under rock and ocean. Concrete and iron. Under watch every hour of every day of every year. Filled to the brim with the worst of the worst. The most powerful villains ever faught and defeated.
None of them came close to All for one. The incarnation of evil.
The man All Might sat across from.
They sat face to face. More or less, all might watched the man. Dispite his lack of visible eyes he felt as though the villain was watching him as well. Or maybe he was just keenly aware of the men behind the one way mirror to his left.
"I assumed that you would devote yourself to teaching... And yet you've come to visit me." The man's voice was muffled. Buried under tubes and a breathing mask. Hidden behind the thick bullet proof glass between the two.
"I'm here so we can get a few things straight... All for one." All Might said back. Keeping his voice steady and strong.
He was staring the most evil man ever in the face. He was responsible for the deaths of millions. Possibly more. He killed All Might's teacher.
Nana Shimura was his friend, his mentor. He killed her, and all of the users that came before her. In some way or another he played into their deaths.
All for one was talkative. Why wouldn't he be? He had no one else to talk too. Spending long hours sitting in the same position, moving even slightly would activate the guns in his room. He was trapped in an almost purgatory-like state. Nothing but his own mind to entertain him.
And entertain him it did.
"Why... Even I would struggle escaping from a place like this." He said, he'd just finished going on and on about the security of this place. The legends that it got its name from.
"You're trapped here... You'll never go free."
All Might said, receiving a chuckle in response.
"I'll let you believe that." All for one said, as though he was talking to a child.
"So what now... let's hear what you have to say. Where's Gran Torino? You came here alone? And in a costume no less. Don't tell me you're still trying to be a hero with that feeble body?"
"You're chatty." All Might observed, ignoring whatever questions the man asked.
"Don't feel flattered. I just haven't had anyone to talk too in awhile." The man replied.
"I want answers. Tell me where Tomura Shigaraki is hiding right now." All Might asked, straight to the point. He has to know, but the likelihood of this man telling All might the truth was so slim, he barely saw the point in asking.
"Haven't the slightest." All for one said with an eerie smile. "Unlike your Birds, mine already fled the nest and makes his own decisions."
All Might hid his reaction. He said "Birds" implying not only Midoriya... But also Kira. All Might hated the fact that All for one knew she existed. He was the main factor in hiding their relation to each other.
And yet he still knew about her.
"What are you trying to achieve? What are you hoping for now? Your body should have died a long time ago yet you've preserved it." All Might said. "You devote your time to controlling and exploiting people. For no reason."
"Even if I told you the truth you wouldn't be satisfied. There are some people who'll never understand each other. We are the same though you'd never admit it, just as you long to become the hero of Justice. I long to be an all-powerful devil.
It's really just that simple."
His smile never dropped. Never waviered. Like a demonic mimic of the one All Might once showed the world proudly.
Or maybe he couldn't stop, maybe he had no lips. His face carved up permanently in a neverending mockery of happiness.
"I had an ideal, and the power to see it enacted. If I could live forever inside my dream, then why would I begrudge the effort to make it a reality?"
"Why the successor then?" All Might asked him. Trying to find out as much as he could about Shigaraki.
"You of all people ask that?" He chuckled. Coming out scratchy and almost electronic.
"What a laugh... It's because you took everything from me... Look at my body. I'm barely alive even now. After you my infinite potential suddenly became finite."
All Might looked. The tubing and machines connected to the man. Pumping oxygen into his lungs. Supporting and monitoring his vitals.
"It's normal to pass on your work to someone else when the end is near... I'm just trying to do what everyone else on this planet is doing.. nothing more." He explained.
All Might didn't respond.
"So you've asked me an awful lot of questions. How about we be fair hm? Let me ask you one as well." All for one said, giddy with excitement. This was the most entertaining thing to happen to him since his capture. There was so much he wanted to say to All Might.
"No matter what I say, I have a feeling you'll ask anyways." All Might said with a frown.
"You're just as clever as always aren't you? Or maybe you just know me well." The villain said in response.
"We're keeping him isolated from the news, don't tell him anything about what's going on outside." The guard outside the window said to All Might.
"You heard the man." All Might nodded.
"Oh please, like I'd need you to tell me what's going on outside. If the symphony I wrote is playing out correctly I know exactly what's going on." All for one said with eerie joy. "No this isn't about the present. It's about the past."
"Then what is it?" All Might asked. "What about the past?"
"Tell me... What do you really know of your master?" All for one asked.
All might stiffened and made an almost inaudible sound of shock. But he quickly stifled it. "What are you talking about?"
"I know I said some rude things in the heat of the moment during out last fight." All for One admitted. "But I promise to be nicer today, since you were kind enough to visit me in my loneliness."
"I'd prefer not to talk about her." All Might said honestly, teeth clinched as he tried to keep himself in his chair.
"Oh but please. There's so much you don't know, Shigaraki being her grandson is just the beginning. Please, ask me. Ask me what I know about her. You must be curious." All for one said, his smile widened even more. If that was possible.
"Fine. Tell me." All Might grunted. "I know you'll do it anyway."
"She was quite mysterious. The moment she received one for all she completely cut contact with her family. I found them anyways though, I have an infinite amount of resources at my disposal." All for one said, leading up to his point. "She left behind her parents, her little brother and two younger sisters. All to keep them safe, just as she did with her son years later. She even changed her name..."
"What's the point to this?" All Might asked. "Why does this even matter to you."
"Oh you'll see. Do you know? Do you know what her name was?"
"Nana Shimura." All Might said with a glare. "You don't deserve the right to even speak it."
"Oh but that's not her name. Think All might, you really think she'd keep using her original name? After she left her family to keep them safe? You don't know the first thing about your own mentor." All for one chuckled. "Ask me... Ask me what her name is. Please, I really do want to tell you."
"I'm done with this." All might shook his head. Not willing to play his games. He got up and turned.
"Kyra."
All for one said simply. All might stopped. Listening against his better judgement. His back was turned to the villain but he could still see his smile.
"Her name was Kyra." All for one repeated. "That peeked your interest didn't it? Because the alternate pronunciation and spelling is Kira."
"That's a coincidence." All Might said. "Nothing of value."
"But it isn't." All for one laughed. "Kyra Kokoa. That was her name. Her little brother named his own daughter after his long lost sister. Years after she changed her name."
All Might turned to him. "Y-you're... You're lying aren't you?" He asked, shaking. His head spun.
Kyra. Kyra Kokoa?
Kira Kokoa.
"No, that's the fun in this. I don't have too. The world is so small, who would have thought the little brother of your master fell in love with your own sister. And you didn't even know it." All for one laughed.
"You killed them. Didn't you? You killed them both!" All Might accused.
"All Might, please stay away from the glass." The prison Guard told him through the speakers.
"Why would I do that? You know me All Might. If anything I would have kept them as my play things. You know how I like my toys." All for one said smugly. "No, the death of your sister was an unfortunate accident. But I don't care to talk about her. She was so insignificant that it took me a long time to even find out she existed."
"She was not insignificant." All Might snapped, sitting back down in his chair. "What are you getting at? What are you telling me this for?!"
"Mostly to point out your own stupidity." All for one admitted. "Kira Kokoa. Your niece, oh if I had known... If I had known she existed, the mix of both you and your masters families... I would have let Tomura rot in the streets."
"What are you talking about?"
"She would have made a wonderful villain don't you think? I mean with her past... And with your neglect. It would have been childs play for me to come in. I could have saved her from the isolation of that small apartment and given her the power of a God. It would have been wonderful if I had thought of it." All for one said, like it was his daydream. He fantasied about turning All Might's niece into his successor.
"Then why didn't you?" All Might asked him. He was angry now, steaming. Like his quirk wanted to go off... But couldn't.
"Because... The one thing more beautiful than her being a villain. Would be her as a hero." All for one admitted.
"She is a hero." All Might retorted.
"No." All for one laughed. "Both sides of her family had welders. It's in her DNA to hold one for all. She would have been the perfect candidate for it. It was her birth right!"
All for one laughed laugher, he cackled and wheezed. "And you... You handed it out to a boy you met on the street! You just gave it away to a stranger. When the person meant to hold it was right under your nose. It was your greatest mistake, you're a fool All Might! Do you understand what a beautiful end to our story her fight would have provided? Your own niece, fighting against her very cousin?! What a beautiful complicated family tree you all have grown! She would have faught hard, only to be crushed under the hand of the superior evil."
"I'm glad I put an end to another one of your plans then." All Might said, standing up again.
"You still don't believe me do you?" All for one asked. Laughing again. "Test it, really. Do the same thing you did when you heard my claim about Shigaraki. I truly am not a liar. At least not when unnecessary."
"I've had enough of this. I don't have to stay here, unlike you." All Might said he walked towards the door.
"Keep her safe All Might."
All for one hummed with a laugh. Hairs stood on the back of All Might's neck. His enemy muttered a few final words as the door slowly began to close.
"I'll want her quirk when I get out."
