87: 𝐾𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑡
Kira was able to snag an entire four hours of sleep last night. By sleeping until her classmates returned and also sneaking off to a quiet closet much earlier in the night.
But after another day of training, (this time with Mandalay instead of Aizawa). She was pooped, tuckered and completely worn to a frazzle.
But apparently it was time for a "fun" training exercise. Kira would much rather be sleeping. Or at least sitting in that class Vlad was making the students who failed take.
So she could sleep through it.
But unfortunately she had to go through the scary forest while people she could literally hear coming tried to scare her. The worst part was her partner.
She looked at the cursed piece of paper in her hand. "Midoriya"
Just her luck. Her and Deku were together, and going last.
Bakugou was going with Todoroki. They had already left. Kira stood far apart from Midoriya who was pouting and looking into the woods. "I wish it was Kacchan. Not stupid Kira. I hate you Kira. This whole thing I so dumb. I want to go to bed now."
Kira rolled her eyes and turned her attention to the woods. Seeing what all she could hear.
"Alright they're almost here... Time to scare the shit out of them!"
"Wow that one actually almost got me..."
"These fools don't know the first thing about fear. Not as I! Who has spent all my years in the dark."
"He's so angsty. I love him!"
"Ribbit. Bet there's more people up here."
"I'm a little spooked, but I can't let the others know that! Keep cool..."
"What's that smell?"
"They're so cute! I wonder what their blood tastes like?!"
"Alright. Just waiting for the bosses signal."
"Now that they're separated... Its the perfect time..."
"It's her... Time to carry out the will of Stain."
"Alright Iida and-" Aizawa looked at his paper. About to send out the next group but Kira spun around.
"Hold on!" Kira said. Closing her eyes tightly.
"Oh no." Someone thought. All of the students actually.
Because if Kira was freaked out over something.
"Call them back." Kira opened her eyes, they were wide. "Call them back now."
"What-" Mandalay asked but Aizawa nodded.
"Do it." He told the other pro. Then turned to Kira. "What's going on? What do you hear?"
"Everyone please head back to the camp center. Follow the way that you came. We need to quickly regroup." Mandalay told everyone telepathically.
"I'm hearing other people. People I don't recognize, they're getting closer and closer." Kira scrunched up her face. "They're all adults th-"
"Now I see..."
Someone thought. Appearing suddenly.
He was close, too close. "Why she's at the top of the kill list."
"Ahh!!" The Blonde pro pixie-bob was suddenly lifted up and pulled back suddenly by some unknown force.
"PIXIE BOB!" Mandalay yelled.
Kira spun around and Aizawa stepped between her and whoever was out there.
"These pet cats are in the way." A villain said, a pillar of what looked like metal in their hand. Pinning Pixie-bob's bloody head to the ground.
Kira tensed. Mandalay's warning had tipped them off. Now they were going after the cats and according to the Lizard man. Kira.
He was staring right at her, his anger was obvious and Kira knew why. With his mask, scarf and swords it was easy to see he idolized stain.
The man Kira had taken down.
"Shigaraki said he wanted her dead... He's already marked her. It will be me, I'll purge the world of the student Kira Kokoa!"
"Oh great." Kira thought, clinching her fist.
"PIXIE-BOB!!!" Midoriya ran over but was blocked by Mandalay and Tiger.
Mandalay was staring forward, jaw set. She stared at the villains but she wasn't worried for herself or her partners.
"Where is Kota?!"
"Kota." Kira whispered, looking at her.
Midoriya stopped and looked over. At her, then turned. "He... He went to that one spot in the mountain..." Midoriya thought in horror. Then he frowned in determination.
"I'm going to find him and bring him back."
"Let me introduce myself!" The lizard said, taking out a sword that appeared to be made out of a lot of other blades tied together. "Call me spinner! I'm here to make Stains dreams a reality! Starting with the Jezebel Kokoa."
"Jezebel?! Really?" Kira asked with a frown.
"Kira you stay back." Aizawa said, pointing at her but keeping his eyes on the villains. "Do you hear me?"
"You are going to get out of this alive and unfucking harmed alright. Just do what I say."
"Yes sir." Kira said with a nod. Her eyes stayed on spinner's. Watching his every move, he did the same to her.
"The capturer of stain... She truly doesn't deserve the title or the recognition she received from it. She didn't do anything honorable, I know she didn't do the fighting like that the green haired boy did. She swooped in at the end and delt the final blow. Taking all of the credit for his Demise! Like a false hero, doing as little as she could and tricking the world into thinking she was their true savior."
"Alright that's fair." Kira mumbled with a nod. He had a point, but in her defense she could have gone without getting credit.
"You guys get back to the compound now! Tell Vlad what's going on and don't leave unless you're told." Mandalay said, running with tiger towards the villains. "Aizawa find your students, me and Tiger will take care of these guys."
"Iida you're in charge!" Aizawa said. "Kira, use your quirk to help the group avoid any more villains." He said, he ran the opposite way. Into the woods to go find any other students.
They ran everyone splitting up, Kira ended up right next to Midoriya. He scanned the woods, looking at the top of that hill.
"I know where he is... If I could just slip away and find him..."
"Go." Kira said, turning her head as she ran with the group. "I won't let them turn back. Go find the kid."
It's funny. Kira and Deku definitely hated each other. He hated her for getting in his way and she hated him for the way he treated her friend.
But the moment they were in real danger all of that was forgotten and they worked perfectly together.
He nodded and ran to the side, drifting away from the group. Kira made sure no one noticed it and bit her lip. Hoping Deku could make it to Kota and bring him back safely.

By the time they arrived in the building again Mandalay sent out a message confirming this was a real villain attack and ordering everyone to make it to safety as soon as they could.
Then they received another message from her. From Aizawa.
Premission to fight.
But Kira couldn't. She was trapped in a room with all of her worrying classmates. Standing between Kirishima and Monoma.
Monoma was the only student from his class to be in here. Everyone else was still outside, no one knew their condition. If they were even still alive. It was driving him crazy.
It was driving everyone crazy.
"UA!" Mandalay's voice came in through Kira's thoughts strong and clear. Dispite the overwhelming amounts of thoughts and fear around her.
The woman's quirk was the opposite of Kira's own quirk.
"The Villain's targets have been identified. They're searching for a boy named Kacchan. And trying to kill a girl named Kira. Kira, Kacchan. Do your best to stay out of the fighting and make sure to remain in groups for you own protection. Do not go into combat unless necessary to protect yourself."
"Kira!" Mina cried out looking over at her. "Of course. After that interaction at the mall you've had a target on your back... And where is Bakugou?! Oh no this is so bad."
"Bakugou?" Kirishima asked out loud. "So they... Do they want to kill him? No she just said they were looking for him. She called him Kacchan, that's what Midoriya calls him. He must have been the one to find out."
Kira swallowed. On one hand she knew Midoriya and Kota must be okay. If Deku relayed this message to Mandalay that must mean him and the kid are alright.
But Katsuki...
Kira had no clue where he was. As hard as she tried she couldn't reach his mind yet. He was too far away. Maybe... Maybe if she could leave the building...
"You can't expect us to sit here and do nothing!" Kirishima walked up to Vlad, Kira hot on his trail. "My friend is out there!!"
"You'll do what we say. It's too dangerous out there!!" Vlad said in response, crossing his bulky arms.
"They're looking for Bakugou!!" Kira said trying to push past him. "I can find him-"
"No!" Vlad yelled.
"They're going to try to kill you Kira!" Iida yelled, grabbing her and dragging her back.
"Hey stop it!" She yelled struggling against him. "GET THE FUCK OFF OF ME!!"
She was very clearly panicking. And everyone understood why. Bakugou was her best friend, they were just as scared thinking about him out there.
Bakugou was the target. But what for? She didn't know what they even wanted from him. To kill him? To take his quirk to one for all? To hold him hostage? To make him a villain? Kira didn't know and it was driving her insane. She had to know where he was. She had to make sure he was okay.
If anything happened to him Kira would never forgive herself. She would never be okay again. She needed him and she needed him now.
"I'm sorry. I can't do that Kira." Iida said, wrapping both of his arms around her. He turned her and held her against his chest. Flinching as Kira struggled and yelled and punched his chest. But he couldn't let her get away and go outside.
The class had walked to the windows, staring out of it. Looking for their friends. But all they could see was fire and smoke.
Iida looked down nervously as Kira stopped struggling completely. Hanging limp in his arms. "Kira..." He whispered in concern.
"I-I don't know..." She stammered. She was crying now. "I don't know what I'd do if he got hurt..." She whispered, eyes wide with tears. Every part of her was trembling and Iida suddenly became worried that he'd break her if he held her too tightly.
"Kira..." Iida said. "Bakugou is one of the strongest among us... If anyone can protect himself out there... It's him."
Kira sniffled and wrapped her arms around Iida who stood there in shock. He didn't think he had ever truly mended his relationship with her.
After she joined UA they never had a chance to speak about what happened at their graduation. Then she saved him in Hosu and she stopped avoiding him as much. She was pleasant towards him but they were never friends.
Then she told everybody about her quirk and he realized the true reason behind her outburst towards him that day. He knew her anger had been pent up. He realized to his embarrassment she must've known how he viewed her as weaker because of her quirk or rather possible lack thereof.
He didn't understand how she could have forgiven him for that. Maybe she hadn't.
Regardless she was here now, hugging him so tightly. Like her life depended on it. She cried and cried for what seemed like forever. His heart ached for his classmate. For all of them. Even Bakugou.
The night crept on and on. The students had no way of knowing where anyone was. Or if they were alright.
Then they heard it.
Suddenly, the first noise to come out of those woods. Sharp and clear.
It was a scream. A loud horrible scream of pain and anger. The sorrow from it was so obvious to everyone who heard, the hairs on their necks stood up in fear of what could have caused it.
Though the scream was faint by the time it made it's way to Kira's ears she somehow understood exactly what it meant. Exactly who it came from.
