17: 𝑊𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑖𝑚 𝑑𝑜𝑤𝑛

Midoriya snapped the tape easily His thoughts rapidly shifted from regret and anger to pure burning hatred. "A rabbit trap?! There's no way she thought of that herself. I'll bet Kacchan put her up to it."

Kira rolled her eyes as she walked away
From him back to their original room. Aizawa was waiting for them there. She smiled lightly at the man's mildly proud thoughts. He was impressed. Not only by her plan, but the fact that she thought of a human sized snare trap and created a functional one in under fifteen minutes.

Next they went into analysis mode. He would announce the MVP of the round and then they would discuss exactly why. Most of the time it was the winners, but sometimes the losing side would get credit for their performance or strategy.

"The MVP is, Kokoa." Aizawa said, looking at his notes. A hand was raised and Aizawa nodded. "Yes Yayorozu?"

Kira already knew what she was about to say. But she hadn't expected her to actually voice her opinion.
"Yes um, don't you think that Kokoa took advantage of the fact that this fight was a simulation and not real life? Midoriya was able to easily break the tape afterwards. If it had been a real fight he would have beaten her. Not to mention her strategy was cowardly. No offense but that's not really the type of strategy we should be practicing." Momo said.

Kira arched an eyebrow and then she heard a small scoff from Bakugou behind her. Who was already forming a counter argument. Not that he was planning to use it. Bakugou liked these discussions and the rebuttals. He liked to argue with people, especially when he knew he was right.

Aizawa cleared his throat but Kira raised her hand. "May I?" She asked and he nodded at her. "Be nice." He thought and she simply smiled back at him.

"If we're talking about what this situation would have looked like in real life then there are several things you should consider. First off, statistically speaking a villain could have been in hiding and prepared for an attack for significantly longer than fifteen minutes. Realistically I could have had up to a year to plan and prepare for a police or hero raid such as this. Second off, considering the class of bomb I had I probably would have had a lot of resources to create much better traps with materials Midoriya wouldn't have been able to break." She pointed out.

Momo's cheeks tinted red. "I suppose I didn't think about that..."

"Moreover, I know that I would never have been able to beat Midoriya in hand to hand combat. He's significantly stronger and he has more combat experience than I. Running in and fighting him straight on would have been suicidal and reckless. Knowing your own weaknesses and strengths and using them against your opponent isn't cowardly. It's intelligent and strategic."
Kira said, she spoke kindly but the last word was said in an impatient, spiteful way.

"Kokoa is right. Not to mention the fact that Midoriya had been lazy, non strategic and reckless. He also underestimated his opponent which is something that could easily get you killed in combat." Aizawa added.

Midoriya flinched at every word he spoke. "I wish All might was running this exercise... Though I am kinda glad he didn't have to see me fail. I hate her. I hate the way she talks, like she's soooo smart. I hate how she dresses and how she hangs out with Kacchan. I hate them."

"I-I'm sorry sir. You're right I'll do better next time! I promise!" He said with a determined look on his face. "Next time I'll fucking destroy her. I want her gone."

"Even if that means I have to break her."

"Hey! Bakugou!" Kira jogged after the blonde boy. He didn't stop walking, but he didn't speed up either, which Kira took as a good sign.

"What the fuck do you want now newbie?!"
He snapped. She walked backwards in front of him. Hands in her pockets. "She's still trying to be friends with me?!"

"Where ya headed?" She asked him, he glanced up at her with a scowl.

"What are you a stalker or something? Fuck off!" He growled. Kira shrugged and turned to walk forward in pace with him.

"If I were a stalker I wouldn't have to ask."
She pointed out. "I would already know."

"Whatever, I'm going to the bus stop. Where else?!" He asked. "She's such a moron. But she's also extremely intelligent. That trap... No one had ever even considered using the exercise that way. But it had worked perfectly, she didn't even touch Deku. It was over almost as quickly as Iceyhot's match the first time."

"That's exactly where I'm going. What a coincidence." Kira said, looking at the view of the city.

"It's not a coincidence. It's the only easy way off this side of the fucking hill." He rolled her eyes.

"Yeah maybe." She shrugged. "But it's a coincidence we happened to be walking the same way, Isn't it?"

"So? What's it matter?" He asked she shrugged.

"Maybe it's the universe's way of saying we're destined to be besties." She suggested. A little bold, but Bakugou already knew what she was trying to do.

"Ew, in your fucking dreams stalker!" He said, walking several places to the side, Away from her. "She can't actually mean that! Friends?!? Best friends?! My last best friend.... Well he Hates me now."

She followed him with a playful smile.
"Oh come on! Don't fight fate!" She laughed and he sprinted away.

"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!!!" He screamed.

"YOU CAN RUN!!! BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE!!"
She shouted back, not bothering to chance after the boy. She chuckled as his figure disappeared down the hill. "Nice guy." She mumbled.

"I'll wear him down eventually."

"Beep beep." Kira said as she skates past Bakugou.

She had just caught sight of the boy walking to school. He hadn't been that far ahead when she changed streets but he still didn't know she was there.

"Idiot new kid." He thought, glaring at her. "Stop stalking me!!!" He yelled at her. Kira just laughed and kept going, leaving him behind.

°.•.°•.°•.°

"I hate you." He mumbled, she walked behind him as they made their way to the cafeteria. "STOP FOLLOWING ME AROUND!!!" He yelled. She didn't respond, just pulled out her headphones.

"WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE THOSE UGLY THINGS ON?!" He yelled. "Maybe she gets overstimulated easily. She puts them on whenever she enters the cafeteria or when class gets really loud."

"It's a fashion statement!" She yelled back. He rolled his eyes. "It's also supposed to stop losers from approaching me."

They pushed open the door sto the cafeteria and almost immediately she was approached by a loser.

Midoriya walked up and touched her arm. She flinched back. "Damn, why isn't it working?!" She joked, swatting his hand away. "Shoo."

"S-sorry Kira!" Midoriya stammered. "C-can I talk to you?" He whispered, glancing over at Kacchan several times.

Bakugou looked pale. All blood drained from his face, he looked terrified. "Should I... Should I try to stop him? Should I... Should I fight for her?"

Kira glanced over. "N-"

Bakugou walked off, hands shoved in his pockets and head tilted down. Before she knew it he had disappeared into the crowd.

She looked back at Midoriya.

"He knows his place, how pathetic. He didn't even put up a fight. And that sad look on his face... The shock, the confusion... I love it so fucking much. I'd do anything to see that look on his face."
Midoriya thought, looking at where Bakugou had retreated too.

"Please Kira, i-it's important! I-I-I swear!"
He said meekly. Kira shoved her hands in her pockets.

"Fine, speak." She said, glaring at him. He was such a psycho. A sadist even.

"C-come on." He said.

She followed him to a quiet corner and leaned against the wall. "So? Spit it out already. And quick, I'm hungry." She said, Crossing her arms.

"L-listen... There are some things I think you need to know about Kacchan." She said, he twitched his fingers and purposefully avoided eye contact. "H-he... W-well..."

"Anyday now." Kira yawned.

"He's a bully." Midoriya said finally. "A bad one, he had a lot of outbursts in middle school. H-he used to torture me and some other kids. I-I was a late bloomer you see. Didn't fully develop my quirk until this spring. He... Well he told me to kill myself, t-that I should take a dive off the roof and pray I got a quirk in my next life." He looked up at Kira nervously.

"Sure it was because I called him retarded for being on medication and kept talking about it. But it's not like he'd actually admit to that, he'd rather die than have anyone know about his medication."

"He used his quirk on me a lot too. He has some sort of crazy mental disorder. I just wanted to be his friend a-a-and." He wiped his nose. "Sorry I..."

Kira quirked an eyebrow. "And I should believe you because...?" She asked. He glanced up.

"She's not buying it?"
"W-well I'm just telling you what happened. Y-you can ask him I guess but... I mean you've seen the way he acts. He hit your cup yesterday. He's dangerous Kira-"

"Stop calling me that. I don't remember ever giving you premission to use my first name."
She snapped.

"Sorry!" He straightened, eyes wide. "I just don't think... I just thought I'd let you know. I wouldn't want you to get a bad reputation hanging out with him and all. Everyone knows about his... Temper." He said, acting shy about it.

"Yeah and I'm sure you made sure of that." She said. Getting off of the wall.
"Listen, I don't know what your problem is. I don't know why you act the way you do, why you manipulate everyone around you. Why you want to separate Bakugou from everyone. But I'm not buying your little shy guy act. Got it?" She poked his chest. "I don't care if Bakugou is dangerous, at least he's honest. I'd rather be around a bully like him than a Psycho like you. So buzz off."

Midoriya's eyes widened to where they almost seemed impossibly big. You know in animes when some character goes insane and the camera shows them from an upward angle. Their eyes big and crazed.

That's the look he gave her. It only lasted half a second though. "She... Called me a psycho... She knows I'm faking... How does she know all of this... Why can't I make her like me?! WHY DOES SHE LIKE KACCHAN MORE THAN SHE LIKES ME?!"

Kira didn't say anything, just walked past him. Bumping shoulders with him as she did, sending him an unimpressed glare.

"She won't do. I can't fix her, I'll just have to make sure no one likes her. She can't change anyone's mind about Kacchan if they all hate her. Iida likes her, by the end of the day he'll want her DEAD. She made a bad decision messing with me. I'll make school hell for her. For him. For both of them. I did it in middle school and I can do it again."

Kira kept walking. Bakugou's table in her sights. 'I Guess it's just you and me buddy.'

"Why do you look so sad bro?"
Sero nudged Kirishima.

Kirishima had his head propped up in his palm. He was watching the corner of the room, unaware of the small pout forming on his lips.

"Huh? Oh! Nothing." He said, turning back to his food. "It's just that... Well..."
He shook his head. "Nevermind."

Something about Midoriya wasn't sitting quite right with him. How immediately after someone started to get close with Bakugou he would swoop in and talk to them about him. Kirishima's group during the first week, that one chick from general studies that came over and flirted with him and now he was with Kokoa.

"Dude seriously what's up? You look really bummed out." Kaminari said, looking behind his chair, trying to follow his gaze.

"It's just... Midoriya is talking to Kokoa. Like he did with us the first week." He mumbled. "I just kinda feel bad for the guy I guess. It seems like anytime someone tries to be his buddy... I don't know." He shook his head.

"Uh, you feel bad for the guy who told a quirkless kid to off himself?" Jirou said, raising an eyebrow. "Really?"

"I know, I know he getting what's coming to him but still... He isn't that bad is he?" Kirishima picked at his rice. Swirling a single grain around in his soy sause.

"Sure, he just screams about everything and throws temper tantrums over nothing. We all saw what happened between him and Kokoa yesterday! He smacked her cup away from her! He's an asshole." Mina said. Mina had been particularly enraged when she saw that. Kirishima had to hold her back.

Then they watched as Kokoa had casually done the exact same thing to him.

"Yeah I know-"

"Shh!" Jirou said, putting her hand up. Her aux was pressed against the floor. "I can hear them." She whispered.

The group immediately quieted down. Waiting for their little spy to give them the details. They watched as Kira pushed herself off the wall and pointed one finger to Midoriya's chest in an almost threatening manner.

"Damn." Jirou whispered, pressing her lips together tightly. Kokoa walked away from Midoriya, who was left standing there. Staring forward in shock.

"What did she say?" Mina whispered.

"A lot..." Jirou said. "She said he was manipulating everyone around him... And that she wasn't buying his "act" she also called him a psycho." Jirou said, turning to watch Kira. Kira walked to a vending machine, then she tilted her head slightly. Making direct eye contact with Jirou.
Jirou looked away nervously.

Jirou had actually been kinda waiting for this moment. When Midoriya would convince Kira to leave Bakugou alone. Because a small part of her had been hoping that if she didn't sit with Bakugou... She would sit with them.

"Wow, actually?" Denki sat back. "That's not cool. Why would she say that to Midoriya? He seems like a pretty chill guy." He said with a frown.

"Yeah... But... What if she's onto something?"
Kirishima asked. "I mean... What if he really is manipulating people."

"Really? You're gonna think our friend Midoriya is a psycho just because she said so? The strange new kid that hangs out with a guy that we ALL know is a little nuts?" Sero asked.

"She's not that strange."

"I don't know, maybe? I just think it wouldn't hurt to give them a chance."
Kirishima said, looking down at his hands.

"You can go have fun hanging out with those two freaks if you want. But I'm NOT damaging my hard earned reputation just out of pity for some angry guy." Mina said.

"No! I-I'm not talking about h-hanging out with them..." Kirishima said nervously. He had in fact been thinking about that. "Just... Not assuming he's crazy just because Midoriya said he was... That's all."

He couldn't afford to lose his friends. He had been so lonely in middle school. Now he had a whole group of people that wanted to hang out with him. He couldn't throw that away for Bakugou and Kokoa.

But still... When he saw Bakugou sitting by himself, eating and watching the people around him. Kirishima noticed a longing in his eyes. Just like when he had been alone in middle school. He understood that look.

Bakugou just wanted friends.
