The clicking of the pen was the least of Kira's concerns. And yet it bothered her more than anything else going on in the room.

"Oh for the love of God Iida!" She slapped her hands on her desk. Disrupting the class that was currently in session. "Can you stop that?!" She yelled, turning to look at the teen boy behind her.

Tenya Iida was a tall rich boy that was the son of some famous pro. Which he was CONSTANTLY thinking about. His blue eyes widened in absolute shock behind his rectangular glasses. Setting his pen down slowly, like he was scared if he made too quick of a move Kira would tear him to shreds.

"What a delinquent. She could have at least politely asked me to stop! Though I suppose it's partly my fault for causing her such irritation. What would my brother think of me being such a distraction?"
Yep, his thoughts ALWAYS circled back to his brother. Or his father. Or his family name.

"My apologies." He said to her, bowing his head slightly. "Even though I suppose I didn't do anything wrong."

She rolled her eyes and turned back to the front of the class. Not accepting his fake apology.

"Kokoa!" Her teacher yelled. "Such behavior is unacceptable in a university such as Soumei Junior High School!" The teacher scolded.

"It should be completely unacceptable for a girl to speak like that in class and especially a quirkless one. And to the son of an esteemed pro hero? Unacceptable." The teacher's eyes were narrowed as he stared her down. She stared back. "You should know that."
"I wish I was allowed to strike my students. Maybe then they'd behave in class."

"Yes sir, sorry."
Kira said in a tone that had absolutely no actual remorse.

"Apologize to Iida." He ordered.

Kira hid her eyeroll and turned to Iida. Who waiting patiently. "I am so so incredibly sorry. Iida son of Iida. Will you please forgive me?" She said, her tone laced with several layers of sarcasm.

"What a bitch."
A girl to her left though, tossing her hair over her shoulders.

"Just what I'd expect from her. How is she even here?" A boy thought, turning his nose up and looking away.

"What gives a quirkless rat like her the right to speak to him like that?!"

"Yes, I accept your apology Kokoa."
Iida said genuinely, dispite the fact she obviously didn't mean it. "Even though you don't mean it. I suppose I should be the bigger person, that's what my brother would do."

The other thoughts weren't nearly as nice.
"The only reason she's even still here is that uncle of hers. If not for him she'd just be trash. She doesn't deserve the status that she has."

That one was definitely true. Without her mildly deadbeat uncle she probably wouldn't be here. But was that such a bad thing? She didn't think so. Half these people were only here because of their rich daddies.

She hadn't seen her uncle in well more than a year. The rich man traveled around Japan a LOT doing whatever it is he did. He was paying for Kira's apartment. That she lived in all by herself. And he also gave her a monthly allowance for whatever she needed. Groceries, eating out, buying clothes, cleaning products and whatever else she wanted.

But she didn't spend it on anything other than necessities often. She saved all she could, so that when she turned eighteen she could afford to provide for herself until finding employment.

Kira didn't know her uncle well. She had no reason to believe he wouldn't abandon her when she turned eighteen. Last she'd been around him the thought had crossed his mind twice.

"Now. Turn your textbooks to chapter thirteen as we look into the second passage of page twenty two in your readers." The teacher droned on.

Kira complied mindlessly. Not bothering trying to read. Every student mentally read the book they all shared. A chorus of the same paragraph being read in different tones and paces rang in her mind. Kira scrunched up her nose. Barely understanding a word of it.

"Oh the poor dear does seem to struggle with reading." The girl that Kira sat beside though in pity for Kokoa. "I wonder if lacking a quirk causes learning difficulties?"

Kira tried not to roll her eyes. Momo Yayorozu really thought she was a kind person.

She'd been treating Kira like she was handicapped since she found out at the beginning of the year that she was "quirkless"

"I should offer to tutor her! Yes that's such a kind thing to do! Maybe a teacher will take notice as well!" Momo pat herself on the back for her noble thought and Kira knew that she would definitely go though with it.

She groaned inwardly. Great, a study session with the most ableist person she knows. Sounds awesome.

Kira really wished she could just LEAVE school campus easily. Without anything in her way. She just wanted to go home.

She pulled off her headphones as she approached the three boys blocking her path. Gripping her backpack straps in her pale fist. She recognized the boys, but didn't care enough about them to remember their names. Just that they were bad news, from a close by school.

She also recognized Tenya Iida. From her own class standing with them.

As Kira took off her headphones she easily picked up their thoughts and conversations.
"Great, one of those stupid rich kids from SJH. Look at his fucking legs, what a freak."
She picked up from a boy with a completely shaved head. She also noted his double pierced ears and tattoos that looked fake.

With him was another boy with bleached blonde hair and icy blue eyes. He had only a single pierced ear that had a stud with what she assumed was a fake diamond. "Those preppy kids should know better than walking through this area. What a faggot."

"Excuse me."
Iida said, bowing his head. Attempting to walk past the two.

'just walk away Kira. It's none of your business.' She thought to herself.

One of the boys stepped in Iida's way. Pushing his shoulder and Shoving him back.
"Hey nerd, wanna smoke?" He asked with a smirk.

"Pardon?!"
Iida asked, his face red and body stiff.

"Look at em. Of course he doesn't want to smoke." The other boy rolled his eyes and looked at Tenya over his shades.

'How cringe. What is this? A Disney movie!?'
Kira thought. Frowning as she watched the boys interact.

"Look at that bag. I'd guess genuine leather. Imagine how much the text books inside cost, probably a fortune." The boy with the shaved head thought, glancing down at Tenya's bag.

"I'd appreciate it if you let me through. Thank you." Iida tried to pass them again.

"Hey, is that any way to treat upperclassmen?" The blond boy scoffed with a set shit eating smirk on his lips.

"I'm sorry sir. My mistake. But will you please let me through." He asked again.

'Come on, stand up for yourself. Stop being So damn polite.' Kira thought with a grimace. Though according to his thoughts Iida didn't even realize he was being pushed around yet.

"What's in it for me?"
Buzz cut asked.

"Pardon?" Iida asked. Blinking a few times. Kira smacked her forehead.

"Oh come on, how about you give me these as payment." The boy snatched the glasses from Iida's nose and held them in his fist.

"Sir!" Iida said, putting his hand to where the glasses previously sat. "I'm sorry but I must ask you to give them back! I need them to see!"

"No shit." One boy scoffed. "Toss it." He put his hands up for the other to toss it over.

"Give it back before I alert the authorities! You'll be punished for stealing!" Iida said. His hands made a chopping motion as he threatened them.

'Don't be a snitch.'
Kira thought in annoyance. What was this dude thinking?!

"What are you a narc?" One boy scoffed.
"Go ahead and cry to the police princess. They won't do shit. Not the lazy fucks around these parts at least."

"Please. Give me my glasses back."
Iida said firmly. Though mentally he was incredibly unsure of what to do. "I wish I was a pro like Tensei. Then I could deal with these fools. But I can't fight them, that would be breaking the rules. What would father do?" He Wondered.

Kira rolled her eyes.

"Why don't you hand over your bag? I'll give your glasses back if you do. What's more important? Your sight or your dumb books?" The blonde asked, holding the glasses infront of Iida and jerking them away when her reached for them.

'What an ass.'
Kira thought with a sigh. She had to go down this street anyways to get home. Unless she went the long way around, and she didn't want to walk that much.

"Do you even know who my father is?!"
Iida asked them. His squinting eyes taking away any sort of intimidating effect he could have had.

The two boys shared a look. Before looking back at Iida and bursting out into hysterical laughter.

"Why are you laughing?!"
Iida demanded they answer. Asking repeatedly. "What is funny?!"

Kira flinched. Embarrassed for the guy.

She moved from beside the wall she'd been peeking behind and slowly made her way down the street. She looked dead ahead, even as the two guys noticed her. The guy with the shaved head hit the others arm and jerked his jaw over at Kira. "Check that out."
He said to his friend. The blue eyed fake blonde looked over at Kira and a grin grew across his face.

Kira ignored the guy's whistling as she walked over and stopped infront of him.

"What a bitch." One thought. Though not in the same way most people thought. It was more like a "what a woman" which in Kira's opinion was arguably worse.

"Hey there." The boy holding the glasses said. "She's kinda fine tho, dispite the fact that she looks super tired. But wow, look at that body." He eyed her like she was a fucking meal.

"Hey."
She said back, crossing her arms. She didn't know what she was doing, if she planned on helping Tenya out or not. But she really didn't want to leave the poor boy.

"Kokoa!" Iida said nervously. Stepping towards her, she was standing in-between him and the boys like a skinny shield.

"She looks kinda like that girl I saw Ziggy with... I wonder if it's her? I hope not, Ziggy would bust my face in for even looking at her." The other boy thought. Though that definitely didn't stop him from looking at her.

Bingo, there was her in. Whoever this Ziggy guy was. (Probably not his actual name) they seemed to be mildly scared of him.
"Give me the glasses." She put her palm out, face up. The boy's laughed at her.

"What are you planning on giving me in exchange huh sweetheart?" The blonde asked. She ignored his mind as he started to think up a fantasy.

"Oh I'm not giving you anything. But Ziggy will give you both a beating." She said cockily. As though her and this "Ziggy" guy were very close.

His smirk dropped and he looked at the other boy. "So I was right. This is Ziggy's girl isn't it? Shit if this comes around I'll be in tons of trouble."

"Hand them over and MAYBE he won't find out about this." She said and the boy immediately put it in her palm. Then they backed up and left while murmuring to each other.

"Welp, here ya go kid." Kira said with a shrug handing the glasses over. "See ya around."

"She... She saved me!"
"Wait!" He said rushing after her as she walked away. "Thank you Kokoa!"
"I thought she didn't like me! But her heroism was very uncharacteristic, maybe I have misjudged her!"

'Oh great, he's following me.'
"It was no problem. Forget about it." She mumbled.

"No! Hey who is Ziggy? The person you mentioned? Do you know those two boys?"

"No, and I have no clue who Ziggy is actually. I've uh... Seen them around, and heard them talking about someone at their school named Ziggy."

"Ah! Someone they respect! It was very brave of you to stand up to them! Especially since you're quirkless!" He said.

She raised an eyebrow. "What does that have to do with it?" She asked him.

"Everything."

He stiffened. "My apologies! I did not mean to insult you!" He said. "It's not like she doesn't know. She shouldn't be offended by me just mentioning it right? Though I suppose it may be a sensitive subject for her. Being weaker than the rest and all."

She rolled her eyes. "So are you just going to follow me around like a puppy? Or are you going to go to your own home?" She asked.

"Back to insults. I think she uses attitude to make up for her lack in quirk and physical strength. She just lashes out to protect herself, yes thats it. I should take nothing she says personally." He thought, giving her a smile. "I suppose you're right Kokoa. I'll see you again tomorrow, farewell."

"Yeah yeah, godspeed." She said, giving him a lazy salute.

"Godspeed? What an excellent vocabulary she has! I'm glad this happened, now I know much more about my classmate. Kokoa is much nicer than I thought she was! I should try my best to be friends with her, she doesn't have any friends, Because she's quirkless. I'm sure my parents would approve of..." His weirdly jolly thoughts slowly disappeared as Kira pulled on her bulky black headphones. Covering up any thoughts that were too far away.

Walls and other obstacles Inhibited her quirk. As did headphones, though only slightly. These headphones were the only thing keeping her sane at this point.

She rolled her eyes, thinking of Iida. Now he wanted to be her friend, which was tiring.

'Well you know what they say...

No good deed goes unpunished.'

A/N:
So you've probably caught on but:

"Normal dialogue."

"Someone else's thoughts."

'Kira's Thoughts.'

This is the dialogue key^
But I'm making sure to make it obvious who's thinking what. Welp that's the first chapter! This was mainly to set up her current school situation and her own personality.
