Grand Triumph
As I said in the description, this story has some horror aspects. As such, don't read unless you're okay with horror stuff. Also, thank you to GlitchyEx3 for coming up with the nameHello and welcome to the circus!
This circus has many rules here to stop people from getting hurt while here.
The rules are split into different sections, most being related to the performers and staff while other are general rules for before, during, and after the show, some of which will apply to all times. The ticket giverThe ticket giver will give you a ticket that shows what row you'll be sitting in during the circus, and while she may seem harmless she can be just as dangerous as the other performers.1. Always be polite to the ticket giver, if you make her angry at you then you'll become her target, which will make surviving harder, although it's unknown how she does it.2. If the ticket giver asks you to help with something behind the desk where she gives tickets, then agree as the ticket giver will keep you safe for your time there, but if she asks you to help with something inside of one of the tents, then don't, do whatever you can to get away as fast as you can as long as it isn't running. If you do help her then she'll steal your soul and turn your body into either a puppet, a doll, or food for the lions, and if you run then you will be stalked for the rest of your life.3. There are only 21 rows of seats. If she gives you a ticket with the row number 22 or higher, then firmly tell her that there is no row number higher than 21 and that she gave you the wrong ticket. She'll be insistant that she gave you the right ticket, but you have to stand your ground while staying polite, and eventually she'll give up and give you ticket with a star on it3a. If the ticket has a red star, then you're safe for the show and 20 minutes after the show, but if it has a blue star, you'll be hunted when you leave. If your ticket has a blue star, the safest thing to do is go to the back circus tent as soon as the show ends and follow the rules given to you later on in this list. If you make it out of the tent alive, you don't need to worry about being hunted as long as you leave as soon as you exit the tent4. During the show or after the show, she may approach you and ask you to come with her (she's more likely to do this if you weren't polite). Agree to go with her but run to the exit of the circus as soon as you are outside, and don't let her catch you. If you decline her and don't go with her, then you won't be able to leave the circus tent, but if you agree and follow her to where she's taking you, you'll lose your soul and no one will remember you ever existed. 4a. If you do agree to follow her, keep your mind clear and try to not think of her. Thinking of her can allow her to manipulate your body and make it harder for you to not follow her, and the more you think of her the more hold she'll have over your body. The lion tamerThe lion tamer is usually a sweet boy, but he's one of the most dangerous performers, meaning that you need to be careful with him.1. The lion tamer will very rarely be seen outside of his tent for anything other than shows. If he approaches you before a show outside of the tent and starts speaking with you, treat him with respect and don't lie. He'll likely ask you if you're good with animals and if you like them, if he does then be completely honest as this will affect something that happens during the show2. If at any point during the show, you see a white lion, try to not look at the lions with too much excitement. If you had a conversation with the lion tamer, this will be harder to do because he can cause people to feel excited about animals. If you do end up showing too much excitement during the show for the lions, you'll pass out in the middle of the show and wake up in one of three places. While not showing excitement will upset him a bit, it won't upset him enough for rule 3 to happen.2a. If you wake up while tied up in a chair, the lion tamer has decided that you will work for him and help take care of his lions. If you do everything right, he'll let you leave, but if you mess up then see 2c for what will happen2b. If you wake up in a room that doesn't seem to have any doors, then the lion tamer has chosen you to feed his lions. Before he does, he will give you a chance to redeem yourself by asking you questions that you must answer honestly2c. If you wake up chained down in what seems to be an enclosure of some sort, then I am sorry to say that he likes you too much and doesn't want you to leave. Escape is futile at this point and your soul will be devoured and your body used to feed the lions, or you'll get turned into one of his lions3. Do not make him upset, with the exception being rule 2. If you do, you're in danger as the lion tamer's lions hate seeing him upset and enjoy torturing people who make their master upset4. Do not, under any circumstances, mess with his lions. It's very likely that he'll see you, and if he does then everyone you care about will be slaughtered in the night by his lions, you will have to face his wrath as after the lions force you to watch them kill the people you care about, they'll bring you to their master so that he can punish you.The trapeze artistsThe trapeze artists are the most dangerous performers here, other than the ring leader, and you must always keep an eye on them.1. There are only two trapeze artists at this circus. A pair of twins named Selene and Cole. If you see someone who claims to be a trapeze artist then ask them their name. If they say anything other than Cole and Selene then politely say you need to go and rush to the tent where the twins stay {the orange and black tent} and tell them that someone wishes to join them in their act. While they won't be happy with you just barging in, they'll thank you for telling them and go to deal with the imposter2. If at any point during the show you see them swinging above the crowd, be ready to duck as they will likely try to grab you, or someone else near you. And on that note, duck if the lights go out as they'll take the opportunity to grab as many people as possible. They can grab people fast enough that no one even notices unless they were in physical contact with the person they grabbed.3. Do not enter their tent at any time other than rule 1. As I already mentioned, they won't be happy with you barging in, and if you don't have a good reason for barging in they'll make you "practice" with them.3a. If you do end up barging in, leave before they see you. If they see you before you get out the tent will close behind you and trap you inside. After that you'll be teleported up to the starting point where one of the twins will hand you a trapeze swing. You must take a rope and start trying to swing across. If any of the twins offer to help you or show you how it's done, then decline as they will use it to trap you. And don't let yourself fall. If you do fall the net underneath you will wrap around you, trapping you.The tight-rope walkersThe tight-rope walkers are a pair of sisters named Hope and Heather. They are lovely and their beauty makes people want to talk with them1. No matter what you do, don't go into the tight-rope walkers' tent before the show unless they ask you, as they don't like being interrupted while practicing and will punish you for interrupting them, which will likely be done by impaling you with their poles.2. If they offer to let you try walking on the tight-rope, refuse. You're vulnerable once you get on that rope and they can change the length at will, and can use that so that you're stuck on it until you die, wether it's from dehydration, starvation, or falling to your death.3. If you go near the tight-rope walkers' or their tent at any point in time when you have string, rope, or a necklace on you, get rid of it before you return home. They'll likely manage to take control of it and will either use it to choke you in your sleep or use it to track you and kill you themselves. The flame eater's rulesThe flame eater's rules are quite simple, yet difficult to follow because of human instinct.1. If something is on fire, don't panic and act like you didn't even see it. The flame eater is trying to get you somewhere he can easily get you and will use his fire to try and get you to run to that place.2. Don't put out any fires you see. The flame eater will take offense to that and will likely burn down your home while you're gone.3. Don't carry anything flammable with you other than clothes. I feel like this one would be self-explanatory.4. Don't ask him how he eats fire. There's no way of knowing for sure what happens but the only thing left behind from the last person who asked is a burned scarf. The acrobatsThe acrobats are a pair of twin sisters that are almost identical.1. Don't enter their tent at any time. Their tent is full of the rope/fabric that they use for their tricks and touching that stuff is bad.2. Don't let their rope/fabric touch you during the show. It will either wrap around you in a way that you won't be able to escape or make any noise and that no one would be able to see you, or it'd allow them to track you.3. Don't make Maria cry. Maria is very sensitive and Diane will become enraged if you make her twin sister cry, she will kill you and do it slowly and painfully. This is why you don't want to mistake them for one another. The ring masterThe ring master is by far the most dangerous and powerful person here. He has the ability to control everything about the circus except for the performers, the lions, and the guests.1. Don't sneak into the circus without paying or break into the circus. He will know and the circus will keep you trapped until he decides to let you go.2. Don't stare him in the eyes. He takes it as a sign that you like him more than you like the show, which he doesn't like and will make sure you get punished for it.2a. If you do stare him in the eyes, leave the tent with a crowd when the show is over and rush to the black circus tent before he can catch you or trap you.3. Don't even think about hurting any of the performers. They're all very dear to him and he will not hesitate to kill you or people you care about if you do.The black circus tentThis tent is a strange one, able to help protect you from some situations but is just as deadly as the performers.1. Do not follow anyone into the tent. If you see someone go in there it means that they are in danger, and if you see a performer go in there then they're trying to lure you in so that they can kill you or are hunting someone.2. If someone enters the tent whole you're in there, hide. It will likely be someone hiding from danger or one of the performers that come in, and both of them will bring trouble.3. Don't go into the tent with no reason. If you do the tent, if it's merciful, will let you leave if you give it one of your fingers. If it's not merciful then you'll be trapped inside and tent will slowly drain your life-force.General rulesThese rules aren't really directly related to the performers, ring master, or staff, but related to the circus in general.1. There are no clowns in this circus. Do not follow anyone who claims they are a clown.2. Don't come to the circus if you've murdered someone or tried to murder someone in the last 5 years. They will trap you here and eat your soul before feeding your corpse to the lion.3. Don't bring any dolls with you. Bringing any dolls from the circus to your home will allow them to track you. You and anyone else in your house will suffer a painful death and become dolls.4. There is no popcorn being sold here. People who eat the "popcorn" report feeling sick and when doctors do an x-ray, it shows that spiders have began eating them from the inside.5. If you see any big cats other than lions, run and report to the lion-tamer. Lions are the only big cats that the circus owns, and there aren't any nearby big cats. What you saw isn't a big cat.6. Don't enter the lion tamer's tent between 3:00 and 3:45. This is when the lions eat and they'll likely mistake you as food.7. Don't tell anyone about this. If you do then they (if they believe you) will suffer a painful death in the night, along with you as they can't risk anyone knowing.I hope you end up enjoying this even though it's not origins related.Remember to always try and have a good day/night.
