Destiny

Clouds

Miyou01

"Get your head out of the clouds. You're not gonna find the perfect mate if you keep rejecting every person who tries to court you."

Sungjoon crosses his arms over his chest, eyes glinting accusingly, "As if you're one to talk. Didn't you have Minhyun sitting on your lap today during dinner, while the person who was nosing at your neck the day before was staring at you?"

Dami scoffed, annoyance taking hold of her features. It's not hard to get under her skin when she's faced with the truth and there's no way for her to deny it. He scoffs offended, mumbling under his breath when she flips him off as a response. It had always been like that between them. Even though he was older than her, she still acted as if she was the older of the two and treated him like a fragile piece of glass. Ever since Dami presented as an Alpha, she had made sure to treat him like a doll. His omega despised it, being treated in such a way by the youngest in the family. He looked away, staring at the retreating form of the alpha that had walked off not too long ago. He was a respectable hunter, had been praised by his father a few times and was a close friend of his older brother Minjoon. Despite liking the attention he was used to receiving, he had not quite pinpointed the perfect alpha who he had considered mating. There had been many suitors, and had been courted by various alphas multiple times. But he liked to daydream about his future quite often. Wanted to make sure that he found the person who was worthy enough to mate. Dami and Minjoon had rolled their eyes far too many times when listening to him talk about the expectations he had regarding his future mate. Of course his siblings wouldn't understand, they were both hard headed alphas that liked the chase whenever possible. As an omega, he was more sensible to such things, and wanted to be careful about every decision he made.

But that wasn't all, he knew when he needed to act up and stand up for himself. He just liked to stare up at the clouds and daydream. Just like he had been doing once more, and had only broken from his waving thoughts when Minjoon's fingers had snapped in front of his face. Minjoon was staring at him, a knowing smirk on his face as stopped his snapping.

"Rion is upset he got rejected."

He let out another scoff, "If you stop trying to set me up with your friends to court me, then they wouldn't continue to be upset."

This time it was Minjoon's turn to roll his eyes, taking a seat next to Dami on the log and taking the piece of dry meat he was offered. That was his cue to leave, knowing well that if he sticks around it would only be to get a lecture from his older brother.

"If you don't stop being picky, there won't be any more alphas that will be interested in you. Then you'll most likely end up alone."

He ignores him, tries not to turn around and fall into his brothers trap to start an argument. Instead he walks away, smiling to the members of the pack he runs into on his way to the kitchens. He can see his father inside, chatting with a few omegas. It seems like all the work for the day is done, and he can pull his father away and spend some time with him. His omega father is the only one that listens to his rambling, always agrees that waiting for the perfect mate is totally normal. He really needs some comfort, his brother's words hit a fear deep within him. The thought of ending up alone scares him, a wave of rejection will cloud him for the rest of his days if that happens.

He's about to enter when he gets pushed aside, a tall figure pushing past him without any regard to apologize. He watches as the man, an alpha, walks in carrying fish hanging from a sturdy stick. He places them in a large basin and walks out. He can only stare in disbelief after him. Even when the alpha walked by once more, he didn't acknowledge him or even spare him a glance. He recognizes the alpha, but knows little of him. He's one of the best hunters, always sticks with Dami and their alpha father on hunts. He's reserved, keeps to himself and doesn't bother to make his presence known amongst the pack. He can't even remember if he has ever held any sort of conversation with him. He has only seen him from afar, his serious demeanor is the only thing he can remember him by. His father must have seen him, and he turns away from the alpha to go inside. His father hugs him, gives him a few berries as he listens to him let all his annoyance out.

By the time he feels all the weight off his shoulders, it's dark out. His father had given him the courage to keep dreaming about finding his perfect mate. The two make their way out, running into his alpha father on their way home. He ends up between his parents, smiling as he listens to his parents bicker back and forth playfully. He wishes that he finds someone special too, someone who can make him smile lovingly just like his omega father is smiling now.
