day 7
If this pregnancy had any major downside besides completely making her lose her figure, the fact that none of her clothes fit irritated Shelly to no end. On the seventh day of her octuplet pregnancy, she stood in the middle of her bedroom surrounded by outgrown clothes.
She threw a pair of pants to the floor in frustration. "Ugh. I can't believe this!" She shouted.
Shelly ultimately settled on an elastic pair of athletic shorts, a t-shirt that could only cover her milk-filled breasts, and, after struggling to put them on, a white pair of knee socks with black stripes.
"You guys don't make it easy on me, do you?" she asked, patting her gargantuan belly.
Shelly sat with Vicki in the examination room again as Doctor Monroe ran the sonogram machine.
"Alright, they all look healthy, but...I'd peg you at seven months now," the doctor said.
The doctor helped her sit upright. Shelly and Vicki looked at each other.
"That...actually fits a theory of Shelly's," Vicki noted.
"And what theory would that be?" Doctor Monroe asked.
"So, seven days ago, I bought a necklace. That night, I got sick, and the next day my breasts were bigger. The day after that, my stomach started to swell, and now...here we are," Shelly said.
"Basically, the necklace impregnated her with octuplets, and she's going through a nine day pregnancy," Vicki summarized.
The doctor blinked.
"That is...certainly an interesting theory. But I don't know how else to explain what's happening to you. If what you're saying is true, then you're going to give birth in two days. It's too dangerous to do a c-section, so we'll have to do a natural birth. Call me if anything happens, but from this point we'll prepare for the birth the ninth day of this pregnancy," Doctor Monroe said.
"Okay. Thank you, doctor," Vicki said.
Shelly remained quiet. It was dawning on her that she was going to deliver eight babies soon, and she knew that it wouldn't be easy.
