Part 16 After giving send off to Khushi, Arnav directly came to the canteen expecting his gang there and his guess was right. He found Payal, Akash and Aman in the canteen. They smiled seeing Arnav. Payal was delighted seeing Khushi's watch in Arnav's wrist. Aman: How was your first date Buddy? Arnav: Amazing.Payal: Where is Khushi?Arnav: She left. Payal (looking at her watch): Ohh yah. Akash : Any jelabies left? Arnav nodded NO and Akash pouted. Aman: Just yesterday only you ate enough jelabies yaar. Akash: I will never get enough of Badima's preparation.Payal: Khushi likes jelabies a lot.Akash: you told me that but I didn't know she likes to this extend... Aman hit his head playfully. Arnav: Payal, I want to talk to you. It's important.Payal (getting serious): About Khushi? Arnav (nodding yes): obviously. Payal: what do you want to know about her?Arnav: Everything... I want to know everything about her.Payal: Means?Arnav: I feel, there is something hidden in her life. I can say she is not happy. She is hesitating to open it up with me. I too don't want to embarrass her. that's why I want to know it from you Payal. Payal was also hesitant to spill the beans. Arnav: Payal please, I don't want to make Khushi weak or else I would have asked her.Payal nodded yes.Payal: Whatever you realized is right. She is not what you see. Khushi's parents hate her because she is a "GIRL".Arnav: What?? This is ridiculous. What's wrong in that? Payal: There was no Girl child in Shashi Gupta's heredity for last few generations. Shashi was so confident about it and had a bet with his friends on a "huge deal". But unexpectedly Garima Gupta gave birth to girl child which made Shashi Gupta lose the deal. He stopped talking to Garima for few years. In between Khushi and Rishi, Garima aborted three babies because those were girl child.Do you believe, her mother didn't even pick Khushi in her arms when she born? What was Khushi's mistake in that? You have no idea how they are treating her at home. She is not less than a punching bag to her parents. They use her to let out their frustration. They beat her without any reason. It scares her more than anything. So she doesn't dare to come in front of them. She was not allowed to talk, say and ask anything. (She gulped) Do you know, it's me who provides her... (pause. She closed her eyes and swallowed hard) Arnav: provide what? (He asked controlling his emotions.)Payal: Sanitary pads... (She bit her lips to control her anger.) Her mother beat Khushi when she strained the bed. So she started sleeping on the floor in those days. So I started giving her.
Arnav was wordless. Is it even possible in the family which was reputed in the society? Aren't they human? What the hell they are doing with their money if it is not useful to fulfill their daughter's basic need? Payal: "Diet control" is not cause of her Ulcer. It's because her parents made her starve many times if they were frustrated. They never let her eat on time also. She suffered in hunger many days. Arnav wanted to rip Shashi Gupta into pieces. His hatred for him rose into tenfold. Aman and Akash looked at each other unbelievably. They doubt either they are her real parents or not. Payal: Rishi... her brother... who is her only support. He loves her very much. But he is a small boy. He can do only what he can. He helps her without her parent knowledge and takes blames on himself to save his sister. Khushi thought to kill herself many times. But she did not have courage to do that, what if she failed? Her parents would beat her for that too. Hope you got cleared that why she is ready to leave her home for you. Khushi believes, she got love which she never got from her parents. She loves you so much Arnav. Please don't avoid her, don't get angry on her. Forgive her mistakes. She has no one in the world except you. Please never hurt her. Arnav sat on the chair bowing down. Tears slipped from his eyes. Even Aman and Akash shook by the revelation. That's why she looks sad always? Arnav took out his purse and removed bunch of money. He forwarded it to Payal. Arnav(gulping his emotions): Don't take me wrong Payal. Please give whattttt...ever (he stressed) she wants. Not that you won't do it for her. For my satisfaction, please.... She is my responsibility from here on. He turned his face side ways to wipe his tears. Aman pressed his shoulder to console him. Arnav: I'm leaving guys. We will meet tomorrow. Arnav left the place with broken heart. He felt like someone was hammering his heart brutally. No one can describe, how weaker he was getting at each and every utterance of Payal. This is what her condition at her home? He never expected this. Aman and Akash stood there helplessly.Akash: Why didn't you say that before itself to us Payal?Payal: I wanted to. But it would have been like creating sympathy. I want Arnav himself realize her condition seeing Khushi's action towards him. It's possible only if Arnav loves her truly. That's what happens now. I'm o happy about it.Aman: This is unbelievable. Payal: Can't you guys understand when she is ready to leave her home for Arnav? Akash: Arnav felt something in his heart from their first meet. Don't feel bad. Khushi will be fine with Arnav.Aman(chuckling): But I'm not feeling bad for Khushi but Shashi. Arnav's anger for him would have become tenfold now. Shashi has to face ruthless Arnav one day for sure. Payal: But ask Arnav to be careful, if Shashi is so ruthless with his own daughter than I don't have to say about him.Aman: I will take care of Arnav.Payal(hesitating): Will Arnav marry Khushi breaking all the odds?Aman: Definitely. And after this revelation, no one can stop him from getting Khushi.
Not even Khushi. A satisfactory smile played on Payal's lips. That's what she wanted for her poor friend.
GHKhushi's condition was totally opposite to Arnav. Her happiness has no limits that day. That was the first day she spent for herself with the person she loves the most. That was day which she laughed... smiled... enjyed... and also lied on Arnav's lap which she never did before. Of course she cried too but on the shoulder of her savior. She had hands to wipe her tears....
At last she met her soulmate who is going to be her everything. She was on the top of the World.RMArnav came to RM carrying burden in his Heart. Ratna saw him looking gloomy.Ratna: Chotte... But Khushi has everything but got nothing. How poor she is. How brutally she is getting treated by her own parents? Parents are the only one who always wishes their children's betterment. How hard would she have felt when she was starving for food? How badly she was being
downtrodden? Tears slipped from his eyes. He wiped it off before Ratna sees. Arnav: I'm going to my room. I feel like sleeping.Ratna: Have a strong coffee. You will feel better. Arnav: After sometimes Mom. Ratna nodded ok. Arnav went to his room and locked it from inside. He sat kneeling down on the floor. He closed his eyes gritting his teeth. He roared like a wounded lion letting out all his frustration. He was frustrated not with anyone but with his own self. At first, he thought Khushi might also be like Shashi Gupta. But reality was something which he never expected. He knew how devil Shashi gupta is, but now, he is not surprised. What could he expect in a man who could be so heartless to his own daughter? He got another valuable reason to punish Shashi Gupta now. He will get punished hard, extra than before.
Arnav was afraid of something. What would be Khushi's reaction when she got to know about Shashi Gupta's real face and his enmity? How her poor heart could bear it which was already broken? On the other hand, what if she took him wrong? What if she thought that he was using her as bait to revenge Shashi Gupta? He could never let it happen. That was the last thing he wished to do. What fears him more than anything is what if he failed to get married to Khushi? What if Shashi Gupta tricked him? He punched the mirror in extreme wrath and it got crumbled. That crumbled mirror reflected his image in to hundreds which were scowling at him for his uncertainty. First time in his life, Arnav was afraid to see his own reflection because it was glaring at him for the thought of failing. He was in the urge of getting Khushi Gupta now. To the place she belongs to...Arvind sent Arnav to Mysore for a sandal wood purchase as he got tied up in AR. So Arnav didn't come to the college the whole week. Khushi was so upset but she knew Arnav has no choice. She goes to his class everyday expecting his presence. Even though she knew, Arnav won't sit in his class without meeting her if he came to college. Aman and Akash got worried seeing her so vulnerable. Arnav was also missing her like hell. He didn't meet her after their first date. He badly wanted to see her... make her cheerful by spending time with her. But he couldn't deny Arvind when he wanted him to go to Mysore.
