Reunion
Aura's POV
I quickly recovered from my flashbacks. I stood back up with help from Chase and resumed a fighting position. Carter stood her ground as we attacked. My bionics were still gone, so Chase did the most. Carter landed a few punches to my stomach and I doubled over. She had enhanced strength, not quite super strength, so it hurt extra, especially without my bionics. She kicked my legs and sent me sprawling. She stepped on my chest to get me to stay down. She sent a blastwave out that hit Chase in the chest and made him black out. "Chase!" I called out, but Carter just laughed. "He can't help you now." I felt a surge of power.
My bionics were back.
I speed kicked Carter's legs and she toppled over. It took her a millisecond too late to realise what was happening. We both glowed red for a minute. I felt a cold feeling, like I was instantly frozen to death.
"Bionic assimilation activated."
