A/n: so my schedule kinda changed up, so I'll probably update later in the day a lot and not strictly in the morning (like today) lol
...
The day of the combined festival and pageant was approaching very quickly. Kira wasn't sure she actually wanted it to come at all.
She'd avoided the other pageant girls as much as possible. Not wanting to be provoked anymore by Emi. But now she was here, and so was everyone else.
Mirio came with Eri and was happily showing her around again. Kira yawned, setting up the equipment for their show. First this then the pageant, which she wasn't exactly looking forward to.
Midoriya rushed in. Late.
"If the teachers find out about this will I get jn trouble?! I hope not. But he was gonna ruin the festival! I had to fight him, also kinda weird that he hung out with a little girl. So maybe he was an actual bad guy... But he seemed different than everyone else I've
Faught."
Kira looked over, raising her eyebrows at him and he stared back in panic.
"I MEAN NO!! HAHAHA I DIDN'T JUST FIGHT A RANDOM MUSTACHE GUY OUTSIDE OF UA! HAHAHA DEFINITELY DON'T NEED TO TELL AIZAWA ABOUT THIS!" He thought with a fake smile that looked like he was definitely caught thinking about something he shouldn't have done.
"Whatever." Kira mumbled. "Sounds cooler than what I did when I left the school." She admitted as he rushed away.
Her, Aoyama, Mina and Momo had gone shopping for dresses. Momo likes shopping (and paying for things) so she came along. Aoyama was needed for his fashion expertise and Kira of course was their barbie doll.
Kira was eventually taken by the girls and forced to change into their outfits. Which were an odd combination of frilly yellow and blue fabrics. Kira tightened her Converses over the blue tights.
Bakugou was in a black collared shirt with the band shirt over. He was fiddling with his drum set, testing the different parts to make sure it sounded clean and of course, loud. His thoughts going on about 'Murdering the other students with their music.'
Kira didn't care as long as he was motivated to play the drums. Because that was cool and kinda hot.
"Hero too..." She mumbled, singing along to the song that was stuck in her head. "Strength doesn't make a hero..."
She kept her voice down. She had never really been ashamed of her voice. She had a bland singing voice, caught between too high and too low. Unable to hold a note for too long. But she tried not to be obnoxious about it. Singing under her breath.
She didn't know the song Jirou had picked out. But it was pretty catchy, fitting UA's theme great. Hopefully it would inspire someone.
"You nervous or something?" Bakugou asked, standing close behind her.
"Huh? No. Not really." Kira asked, turning her head. No one else was close by. Most were still changing or in the gym setting up. Kira was mumbling to herself as she put something up in their storage room.
"Hm." Bakugou mumbled, resting his head on her shoulder.
"Are you?" Kira asked with a frown.
"Just tired." He responded, pinching the fabric of her jacket. "I don't get why we're doing this. They all hate us anyways."
"Thought that was the point?" Kira asked. "So you're gonna murder them with music and all that."
"That's just something I say." He admitted. "I still don't think we're gonna inspire any of them. Or make them mad.... I don't know. People are dumb."
Bakugou didn't know how he felt about the concert. Which is why he was acting like this, leaning against Kira because he knew she'd make him feel better. She always did.
"That's true." Kira nodded in agreement. Lifting a hand to scratch his hair. "Eri's gonna be here though."
"Really?" He mumbled, head tilting up so his chin rested on her shoulder. Looking forward. "Think she's up for that... Might be too loud... Scary."
"She'll be fine. She'll be with Mirio, he'll take her out if it gets too be too much." Kira shrugged. "But I think she'll like it. She's never seen anything like this before... I hope... It'll make her smile."
"She doesn't smile does she?" He asked.
Kira stayed quiet for a second. "Not yet."
"Did you?"
"What do you mean?" She asked, biting her lip. Since the introduction of Eri, Bakugou seemed to be much more interested in Kira's past. Thinking about how she used to be like Eri made him want to know more. Understand more.
"After what happened." He said again.
"Took awhile... But yeah. Even after that I went through stages were I wouldn't. I'd be fine one day, see something that triggered me and..." She sighed. "I learned to avoid and ignore what scared me until I could handle it."
"...What kind of triggers?" Bakugou moved his head to rest his forehead on her shoulder again. "Sorry... Maybe I shouldn't ask you this many questions..."
"Hard candies." Kira mumbled.
"Candy?" Bakugou repeated in confusion.
"Especially blue raspberry flavors. They... They used to give them too me. When I did good during quirk training. It was the last thing I ate before..." She paused. "They make me sick. I don't eat that kind of candy anymore." She finished, leaving the last part unsaid.
"Noted." Bakugou thought, holding her arms.
"And Doctors. I never trusted them." Kira added. "Being alone was a big one. I didn't leave my parents side until I was ten. I even slept in the bed with them. Almost every night. They homeschooled me until I was eleven. Even after then I called them everyday at recess."
"Did you ever...." Bakugou didn't finish his thoughts out loud. She understood.
"Doctors scared me. Even if they were just therapists. My parents tried to take me a few times, not telling me what it was but... Well I was a mindreader, always figured it out. I panicked too much and it did more harm than good. Plus we couldn't go too far into the details, I wasn't willing to tell anyone about my quirk. Especially not someone like that. How could they help me if they didn't know everything that happened? What I was really scared of."
"You... You could go now." Katsuki whispered. Kira stared forward, thinking the suggestion over.
She had never thought about it. Going to therapy after all those years. She always felt like it was too late for that. That she had already healed on her own.
But had she?
"I don't know." She mumbled, rubbing her eyes. "I'm fine now." She laughed nervously, pulling away from him. "Really, don't worry."
"I doubt that." Bakugou thought, not saying anything. Not about her reaction, or about how he felt colder after she pulled away. "Right. I just... I want to help you. But I feel so useless." He admitted.
"I can't save you from something that already happened..."
"You've done enough." Kira whispered, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and hugging him.
She kissed him on the cheek and he stiffened in shock, face turning red. Kira smiled and pulled away.
"Thank you, Katsuki."

"HERO TOO!! I am a hero too!!! My heart is set! And I won't back down!"
It was loud. Bakugou was right, but when Kira peersd through the crowd she could see something more dazzling than the ice falling from the sky. More sparkly than Aoyama as he was thrown across the room.
Eri's smile.
Eri was smiling. For the first time ever, arms up in the air as she cheered something Kira couldn't hear. Mouth open in a wide grin, Mirio was looking up at her. Crying with a smile of his own.
Bakugou's drums pounded over everything, matching the rhythm of the other instruments. Guiding the words of the song with it's beat.
Kira glanced over, trying to focus on the moves she was supposed to be doing. But it was hard when he was right next to her. He looked focused, eyes squinting as he moved his arms quickly over the drum set. Breathing in through his nose when out his mouth carefully.
Kira tried to pry her eyes away but found it kinda hard.
She managed to do it though, focusing on the crowd and the dancered around her. Following them to make sure she was moving in time with them.
All while the drums pounded in her ears.
A/n:
I need to see Kira in this shirt... ASAP
